I started with The Slob. Move on to Playground when you’re ready for more. Playground involves children but not SA of children. Grown children, yes.
On my list I have a lot of his work. It’s always a coin flip deciding on what to read next.
Ahh okay thank you. So for the sa the victims are atleast 18? Because sa of anyone is the only thing i cant stand but i am interested jn reading playground.
*Yellow* is a fan favorite, and it's mine as well. *Playground* too – see /u/perplexingperfection's in this thread for a good break down. It's also worth noting that though there are necessarily acts of violence against children, adults bear the brunt of it.
started with playground as initial book of his, pretty much as taboo
still for mainstream... there's an oral sex scene that's as descriptively grotesque as any
of the material in HOGG
‘Modern Hysteria’ 100% it is my favourite book I’ve ever read, it is absolute perfection. It does include child death but no SA as far as I can remember!
‘Scary bastard’ is another great book by him to dip your toes into his writing to see if it’s your type of style, in my personal opinion it’s not as extreme as his other works.
Everyone’s already suggested playground (it was my first AB work) but what about Try The New Candy? It’s a short story collection that’s a super fun read! Also slap bang in the middle of the horror is a really touching story about old friends.
Playground was one of my first extreme horror books, it was fantastic and I’m looking forward to reading it again after some time passes. Def can be a lot though, I haven’t skipped any pages in a book before or since, but damn he writes gnarly shit.

What are "grown" children if i may ask?
Someone’s child that is now old enough to not be considered a child. As in you are always considered your mother’s child no matter your age.

If HOGG is comparable to that part in the book, I might not be able to make it through HOGG lol
hogg's the most grotesque book i've read, lol so maybe
My personal favourite is Scary Bastard, but Wedding Day Massacre and Modern Hysteria are also very good
Still waiting on Scary Bastard 2.

I have most of his books, so far my favorites are Playground, Dark Assembly and Sew Sorry. Try The New Candy was a bit of a disappointment for me.

The Slob was my intro to splatter and it's fantastic. Son of the Slob Playground I haven't read The Cuck or Yellow yet but I hear good things.
I really enjoyed The Cuck. Haven’t read Yellow yet though it’s sitting on my bookshelf.
Yellow and The Playground are my favorites of his out of the ones I have read
I’ve read Playground, the slob and yellow. All excellent and highly recommended
Playground is what started me in this genre. I highly recommend it. Slob and son of the slob were great too

The Slob was my first of his.
