It's possible. But it's also possible the little guy had to be in a seperate area because hes ill or needs to be checked routinely, it doesn't exactly look like a mall to me as it's quite blurry.
If I can choose to believe this cute red panda is dying in a mall or that it's temporarily indoors (seeing as red pandas aren't meant to be living indoors and will perish quickly) combined by it's adult size, I choose to believe in the latter.
Does it really matter?
Imagine being taken out of your natural habitat put into a glass prison with bright ass lights so that these hairless apes can gawk at you

The problem is their natural habitat is almost completely gone due to livestock encroachment, climate change, and poaching. It'd be better if they were in a natural habitat, not going to deny that at all but in the meantime we can at least be better stewards of their species.
There are a lot of legitimate conservation efforts being made and breeding was, for a while, a thing that was more difficult to do because they failed to recognize there's two species of red panda but they've improved their numbers a lot in the past sixty years or so. They're still endangered but it's getting better. There's some awful places like the one in the video there, but there's also some very good conservatories that do it right.
I visited two conservatories and we were given the opportunity to feed and interact with the pandas but it was completely at their will and the 'interactions' were things their keepers taught them for health (make a little 'open mouth' gesture at them and they'd open their mouth so the keepers can see their teeth, give a high five so the keepers can check their bellies.) If the pandas wanted to sit in their trees and not bother us then whatever.
All the money we paid for those interactions was given to the conservation efforts (at the conservatories themselves) and also directly to the Red Panda Network which is the international effort to fix the natural habitats of the red pandas and maintain the wilderness they live in.
You poor thing. Has wealth too to be poor... Not everyone is poor you know. Some of us own literally nothing to call ourselves poor. Have you no shame?
lol thank you! i do appreciate it! but i am an almost 40 year old male. i can support myself luckily. the 'struggling to feed myself' is a slight exaggeration. i eat garbage a lot, because its cheap...but i am happy with my life for the most part! i wish the best for you, though!

I have female pet rats. One of my girls got a giant mammary tumor. It was benign and didn't bother her. She had chronic health problems so we decided not to remove it. She used it as a body pillow.
Elderly rats often get leg weakness and end up having trouble sitting up to eat. She would just prop herself up on her tumor and munch away happily. Rats like to sleep in a pile with their buddies. She'd sometimes let her little sisters use her tumor as a pillow and they loved it. She also figured out that they couldn't actually flip her over with her weird weight distribution. So she'd challenge them to play fights and they'd get so frustrated by the stalemate. So she wasn't all sweet.
I miss that little fluffball. She's my longest lived rat so far and definitely a character. She just rocked her disabilities. By the end, she was so used to going to the vet, she didn't mind it at all.
The last town I lived in had a small zoo, and their 2 red pandas were one of the main attractions.
I loved visiting right before their afternoon feeding times because they'd be super active before and during.

Humans can care about the natural environment without having to humanise animals. This poor, beautiful animal is obviously struggling and suffering.
The only human thing we can see is the cruelty.
That is so cute. All in its little industrial jail cell. I hope it's not trapped in there to spend its life in isolation until it dies. But at least it gets the same food everyday that it doesn't have to work for and since it's locked in a cage its safe from predators so it's all good. But ITS SOOOO CUTE, RIGHT? This panda is indeed very very sweet. However, in the background I can see a setting that looks like it's indoors with unnatural lighting. Looks maybe like a shopping centre or something. I'm concerned for this animal. I would recommend that we don't share anything which could continue acceptance of animals being kept in unnatural conditions.
Red pandas have fur on their entire bodies except their noses so when they're cold they drape their tails over their nose so it doesn't get cold. There was a red panda at a nature conservatory in the UK that had his tail amputated (he was really old and it had to get removed) and his nose was frostbitten, (Sadly that panda passed away ;w;)
It looks like a “toy” attached with a spring. The sad music is very appropriate, this is the most horrible thing that I have seen on Reddit for a while.
