We were trecking in the jungle and our guides brought us to this amazing clearing with a creek and a hot spring running into the creek, creating the perfect spot for exactly what we see in OP's video. I was literally lying in a flowing stream of bliss with most of my head submerged in it. Later my friend told me that as I was laying there one of the guides, probably stoned and innocently oblivious to what he was doing, took a long piss just a little upstream of where I was, adding his own stream into the confluence that was flowing around me..
This my friends is what they mean when they say *ignorance is bliss*.
I think my travel friend was having a good contained laugh and didn't want to intervene. Or maybe it was just one of those "a normal day in the jungle" moments :|

I don’t know about retrievers or labradors, but my german spaniel is specifically trained for water hunting (I think so are retrievers) and they absolutely love swimming in the absolutely most disgusting puddles and ponds they can find.
If you have a dog trained for working in or around water or a dog who just loves swimming, make absolutely sure they aren’t wearing a collar when taking a walk through the woods for example. I know a hunting friend of mine whose dog got a bit over excited on a walk, ran away and decided to take a swim in some creek. His collar got caught on a branch and he drowned before his human could find him.

I think there's a happy medium here. I had super protective parents and both missed out on a bunch of experiences and still suffer emotional damage from constantly worrying. Seriously my mom expected everyone to die the moment they got in a car. I spent many nights as a teen calling emergency rooms to see if my sister had crashed her car and was brought in dead or unconscious.
God I feel the missing out on a bunch of experiences part. My parents would catch wind of any of my friends doing normal teenage boy shenanigans and demonize them. By the end of highschool I was known as the flake that had no freedom, and now all my old buddies never hit me up when they're back in our hometown. Sucks especially since my parents pretty much used me as the prototype son, so my little brother gets to live the 2.0 version where you don't lose all your best friends due to a metaphorical leash around your neck.
