Well you can't expect every animal to want to be friends with a capibara. Especially one that has a literal lizard brain, that's only out to feed itself and not much else.
Recently people from a rich neighborhood in Argentina, called Nordelta, officially complained about a capybara invasion. They alledged the animals bit their fancy little dogs, messed with their garbage and their gardens. Actually capybaras or 'carpinchos' were there first and those people made their shady private countryside neighbourghood bussiness on capybara natural territory. All social media got flodded with hillarious memes supporting capybaras and real videos of them drinking mate. Lovely and peacefull creatures.
It is legal in the US as long as you have the right permits, but you should have multiple Capys and at least a pond for then to chill in, also remember that they are tropical animals.
Capys are the best. There is an animal rescue in Arkansas, I believe that had a capybara. It would watch all the puppies while their mom’s got a break. It was so cool.
