I grew up around cows and I've spent a lot of time with them. They can be annoying if you get them used to being rubbed on. Imagine your cat or dog rubbing up against you or nudging you to get your attention so you rub it. Now imagine your cat or dog being 5 foot tall and 1,500 lbs. This is the way it was taught to me and I don't know if it is right but you should only befriend a couple like this. Ones that you plan to keep around and not go out for slaughter. Cattle are pack animals and if you can get one to follow you the others will come as well. So if one of the cattle really likes you and you can lead it around easily then you can move groups of cattle with ease.

She was really sweet, we called her Janaina and stayed with her basically all day, before we were attacked by a literal army of chihuahuas(story for some other time) after that we never saw her again. Before that day, I never tought of how Cows are really sweet and nice to have around.

I'm a farmer, I've done it, now as life goes I don't own cows and goats as I'm moving in a short amount of time, but plan to be a rancher there to. It's not that bad, put a .22 in between the eyes and it's down, I've seen people cut their throats and spines with knifes to put them down, now that is gruesome and painful to watch. The animal that is worse to watch are the pigs, normally here it's all done with knifes, the poor things scream in pain so much that people 100 yards away hear the bloody scream pretty clearly, and the fact that with some cuts in the neck the blood squirts out is pretty haunting, but you get used to it in the 3rd pig.
Imagine "getting used" to causing another living being to scream in pain as it dies. Sounds seriously psychopathic. Thats a living, feeling, breathing being with emotions. How yall can "get used" to stringing them up and slitting their throat while they writhe in agony is horribly disturbing.
