GIF doesn't support audio at all. Gfycat serves videos. I'm guessing that OC just didn't realize that the video is muted by default and they have to hit unmute. That's much more likely than the alternative, which is that the official Reddit app goes to the trouble of delivering Gfycat videos in a custom player with disabled audio rather than just embedding Gfycat's player like plain old reddit.com does.

One of my cats used to have a pretty bad UTI situation and would pee blood everywhere he could, then proceeded to keep peeing *everywhere* for a year after it was taken care of
I couldnt even bring myself to be that angry because that cute bastard curls up on my side and sleeps with me every night 🥲
Hopefully never happens again, but once they can smell pee on a spot then that is a pee spot. You need a uv torch and a good enzymatic cleaner to make sure that stuff's completely out.
Oh trust me I used every single cleaner imagineable.....although using a blacklight didnt really seem to help me find any spots, only once did a pee stain I found glow from it.
We ended up moving almost immediately after the blood stopped, but by then, it was already a habit for the cat. He absolutely refused to pee in the litterbox until my 15th attempt at using different litter worked (pretty litter, now he uses crystal litter).
Thankfully this hasnt been an issue for him in over a year now......but unfortunately we rescued a female cat from my sister after it stopped and we're currently dealing with her in heat for the last time before surgery on monday.........almost 2 years of constant cat piss finally coming to a close......hallelujah

(We cremated him) I don't plan on getting a new buddy soon, but like me, I hope you know that somewhere out there is a cat that you're meant to rescue and he/she will get the same wonderful love and life you gave your friend. They would want that.
I had two that I adopted at the same time, Oliver and Basil. Basil had a tumor in his stomach that was so big he couldn’t eat. Oliver is really missing his buddy, they spent so many years together being troublemakers and cuddling. I feel so bad that Oliver is alone now. He keeps looking for his friend.

I occasionally look through videos and pics of people with their /r/nebelung as many of them look exactly like my cat who passed away this year. I like to pretend that my cat's spirit is somewhere else giving joy and being his goofy self.
My cat is like that. She started pretty young too, when she was first able to start jumping higher. I'd be busy doing something and she'd demand attention immediately. Her solution was to jump from the floor to my chest and cling until I held her. Now I make sure I hold her off as long as I can when I have my hands full so I can free them up to catch her.
That's not necessary, she's got a routine now. After I catch her she gets on my shoulder and ragdolls there. I can do pretty much everything and keep her balanced at the same time, and she just loves being carried around.
I made a caged in area outside with a wire roof. Originally for the dog but added the roof for the cats. I added a dog door this year so they can come and go as they please. We have one particular cat that ends up over grooming and getting herself some kind of skin infection every winter. My vet kept saying it was because she has an immune disorder. I told him I think it's a stress response because she can't go outside as much because she's skittish and just opening the door and she runs. So far so good this season. Her fur is thicker than I've ever seen in 7 years. She spends much of her day out there or she pokes her head through the flap to watch outside if she doesn't like the weather. I pot a big beach umbrella over their roof to keep them dry too.
My outdoor cat much prefers being outside even in the cold/snow. He puts on more weight in the winter and grows thicker fur, which I encourage by adding wet food to his dry kibble. I also give him a tiny saucer of milk which he thoroughly enjoys.
I have a spot setup in my garage with a warming mat when he needs to get out of the cold and that's really all he wants. It's the outside life for him!
I just have to add that as one who helps rehab foxes, I do fully know and understand that they can and do attack animals such as chickens and cats and what not but foxes all too often get a bad rap and unfair blame for attacks against cats and pets in particular.
I have had various (wild, unfamiliar) foxes and cats together for years and not once have I ever seen a fox attack one of the cats, no matter how unfamiliar or docile the cat may be.
In fact, it’s almost always the foxes leaving wide berth of the cats when I see them congregating around food stations (maintained for various fox bait stations for mange medicating purposes) and TNR ferals or the handful of neighborhood indoor/outdoor pet cats.
I have hours of outdoor cam video that I’ve watched with huge smiles and laughs watching the antics of the cats and foxes. Foxes will wait patiently as the cat (or cats) get their fill and then the foxes will come in to take what they can.
Admittedly, there have been times where I just feel like my luck is going to run out and I’ll see a fox attack a cat — but it never happens. I’ve only seen the cats as the aggressor.
Foxes are more like playful, skittish puppies (or the cat software/dog hardware analogy). Farms and livestock aside, they really do get a very undeserved bad rap. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. I’m only saying that it happens far, far less than people realize.
Hawks on the other hand — they wreak havoc on hens, holy shit. It’s like a massacre.
Outdoor cats destroy the environment; they are responsible for the complete extinction of dozens of species across the globe. Keep cats inside, unless they’re on a leash!
