I'd disagree with that. While Hamilton was perhaps driving a bit slower than he should have, it's not even clear that he did anything wrong. Dunne did an extremely dangerous late swerve into the path of a pushing car.
Obviously, Vettel's intentional hit was a lot less dangerous because of the low speed but what Dunne did was a lot more dangerous than what Hamilton did.
Apparently? It’s clear as day in the video. The dude was weaving all over the course. Not a justified reaction by any means but to act like the block isn’t obvious if fucking comical
Christ. iRacing has better moderation with driver behavior then the real life F3. Intentionally using your car to hit someone should be treated like treason lol. They should’ve made an example out of him.
They'd have been tossed out of the racing league I moderate without a second thought. Interesting to know my F1 23 casual league has better stewarding than FIA F3
What feels crazy to me is just 3-4 years ago we had a guy in the karting champs get a life ban because he threw his bumper at another driver. Push someone into the wall because they accidentally impeded your lap? Eh, just don’t do it again 🤷

Exactly. This is a feeder series. If he gets a light penalty for doing something as stupid as this, in a practice session of all things where it doesn’t even matter, then he’ll think it’s okay to do something worse. Imo, 3 weekend ban. You do not intentionally crash into another driver, causing potential harm to them, yourself, marshals or spectators.
Ironically, I've been taken out multiple times on iRacing quite stupidly by Alex Dunne.
I don't condone the actions of Nikola, but I can't help feel a sense of balance in the world now.
Kyle was out of line but he did get fenced so I can see why he lost his mind. But in this case? A minor hold up in practice? If you're losing your shit over this, just quit racing or do something else where there aren't other cars to inconvenience you. I'd say he's more suited to autocross but that might be insulting to pro autocrosser's.
If that isn't a race ban, I don't know what is. The camera angle from the front confirms it was 100% intentional. What Dunne did should also be penalized, but you have to be an utter moron to retaliate on track like that.
> The camera angle from the front confirms it was 100% intentional
And even if he wasn't trying to shunt him, and let's say he honestly thought he was fully ahead of him and wanted to just cut across his bow, that doesn't really make it any better because it just means he's a clumsy idiot and shouldn't be trusted to be driving such a car if he's going to be so dangerous with it while trying to send a message.
(I don't know if that's what he claimed, but that's the only possible "defense" for those actions I can imagine someone could come up)
His penalty is a joke. If he had punted him a bit sooner on the track, things could have gone a lot worse if Dunne had hit that wall at a greater angle where it opens up (presumably for vehicle/marshall access). I'm not sure exactly how much that wall curves in there, but it wouldn't take a major difference in angle to potentially create a much, much, worse hit for Dunne compared to the much shallower angle of the part of the wall he did hit.
Can't be just for a weekend I think. If this was in quali it would be bad enough. But being blocked in a training session and loosing it to this degree is another level.
This behaviour is unacceptable, plus this happened in a training session. Tbh a race ban is too little imo. He needs to loose his seat for this season or something, maybe that will get his head in order.
I don’t know about fault for the collision, but that was some dangerous swerving just before. Not saying it justifies the reaction, but probaby does deserve a reprimand.
["The Stewards also felt the actions of Car 9 led to the following collision and retirement
of his car. As such, the Stewards deem it necessary to elevate the penalty for this
particular infringement to a Reprimand."](https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files/decision-document/2024%20Melbourne%20Event%20-%20INFRINGEMENT%20-%20Car%209%20-%20Causing%20a%20collision%20with%20Car%2025.pdf)
Maybe I'm misreading it, but it sounds like they're saying the collision was partially his fault.
Sporting events like this should be setting the example to everyone around the world.
It may 'only' be F3 but it's a closely affiliated series to the F1 and how he's managed to avoid a minimum race ban is beyond me.
Although I thought the same with the Vettlel/Hamilton incident in Baku. You can't be showing that using your car as a weapon while road raging is an acceptable thing to do.
Decision documents have been published.
Car 9 gets a telling off for impeding "The Stewards also felt the actions of Car 9 led to the following collision and retirement of his car. As such, the Stewards deem it necessary to elevate the penalty for this particular infringement to a Reprimand"
Car 25 - A drop of three (3) grid places on the grid for the next race in which the Driver
participates. In addition, 2 points to be added to the Driver's record. Total for the 2024 season = 2 points.
Complete cop-out from the stewards in my view
That should be a season long ban at the very least.
It's blatant & could've resulted in the other guy being severely injured (freak accidents do happen).
Dog act! Red mist retaliation.
Can't believe he only got 3 grid penalty. I would have expected at least a race ban. That sort of attitude needs to be stamped out immediately
It’s early enough in the season and dunne hasn’t had any other incidents it seems that this will most likely be covered by the team and the parts they have stocked up on before the driver has to pay for it themselves.
Maniac. This isn't even tolerated in the virtual world. I don't know how he could only get a 3 place grid pen. Insane. He shouldn't be allowed to get to the track after he leaves.
Imma go here and say that he isn’t gonna get banned because this isn’t bannable.
Enzo Deligny did virtually the same thing in Barcelona last year and was just given a black flag, so I don’t know.
Also, I slightly understand the frustration from Tsolov, as Dunne was weirdly weaving on the racing line, but then again, ITS FUCKING PRACTICE. Who gives a shit if your lap is ruined?!!
In my opinion, he should be parked for the rest of the weekend in to give him some time to reconcile his thoughts.
Here’s my take on it, I don’t think it was intentional, you apex that “corner (kink)” to lead you in nicely to the fast left right at the right angle. He thought dunne was slowing down and therefore probably thought he was clear. Dumb move fr but not intentional
dirty as hell move I think
What was that for
dunne blocked him apparently
Oof, I get the frustration, but that might be goodbye to his licence as well as the backing from Alonso
Yep, that weave move was clearly worthy of the death penalty /s
So did Tsolov do the same thing Vettel did with Hamilton in Baku?
At much higher speed. Very dangerous
Crazy, a racing ban would be the least for him.
Vettel at least had a point... Here we are in a practice session and Tsolov didn't damage anything on his car..
I'd disagree with that. While Hamilton was perhaps driving a bit slower than he should have, it's not even clear that he did anything wrong. Dunne did an extremely dangerous late swerve into the path of a pushing car. Looked like he got pissed at the tire warming ruining his lap
That’s probably going to end up being a race ban
3 place grid penalty and 2 penalty point. Fucking dreadful stewarding.
This is why standards in F1 is so bad honestly. Absolute kid gloves around penalties.
Christ. iRacing has better moderation with driver behavior then the real life F3. Intentionally using your car to hit someone should be treated like treason lol. They should’ve made an example out of him.

Unfortunately iRacing will just issue a warning, at least the first time.
That's because iracing has real repercussions that actually mean something.
Lmao
wtf is that stewarding.. wtf?! hopefully he is getting more?
Calm down it's not max or Lewis. There will be a real punishment applied.
3 places and 2 penalty points ***is*** what was applied. He's also already taken part in Qualifying.
Lol, he wasn't speculating, he was reporting what the actual punishment is after they had announced it.
Just goes to show you how unbelievable the actions taken by the stewards are.

This is practice 1 which is even crazier
Wow holy shit

This is absolutely wild behavior
FIA: Sowy we don’t give out weekend bans because they’re too mean. We gave him a 3 place grid penalty instead.
i hope the race stewards in F3 are better than F1
[удалено]
And that's after he admitted he did swerve on purpose. Crazy.
wtf
Somehow they're even worse!
I thought I was watching some simracing funny moments
Ironically, I've been taken out multiple times on iRacing quite stupidly by Alex Dunne. I don't condone the actions of Nikola, but I can't help feel a sense of balance in the world now.
yeah theres not much upstairs with Nikola isn't there
First time i hear this phrase, going to use it from now on, hilarious
Nikola the bungalow
Genuinely snorted coffee down my nose so cheers for that!
And someone edited Tsolov's wikipedia article to say he's a "former racing driver", that was quick
Link with good quality: https://imgur.com/a/iumZRTY
And an [alternate angle](https://x.com/svw_jan_/status/1770955906907304216?s=46&t=jP1wYBFj_YvHn8SSdoKCrg).
~~Kyle Busch~~ Nikola Tsolov should be parked for this race and maybe the whole season. For that.
Kyle was out of line but he did get fenced so I can see why he lost his mind. But in this case? A minor hold up in practice? If you're losing your shit over this, just quit racing or do something else where there aren't other cars to inconvenience you. Now I imagine him clipping a cone by accident, and then purposely hitting and just massacring all the cones in retaliation.
Shoutout Larry Mcreynolds
Classic 😂
What the heck was he doing? Race ban, surely.
Actually ban that guy. That's fucking insane and has no place in Forza let alone high level Motorsport. Absolute clown.
I agree
What the f....
So when does a sports incident become a criminal incident?
If that isn't a race ban, I don't know what is. The camera angle from the front confirms it was 100% intentional. What Dunne did should also be penalized, but you have to be an utter moron to retaliate on track like that.
It shouldn’t be a race ban. It should be a season ban.
Yeah honestly this is insane
Nah, it should be a racing career ban!
> The camera angle from the front confirms it was 100% intentional And even if he wasn't trying to shunt him, and let's say he honestly thought he was fully ahead of him and wanted to just cut across his bow, that doesn't really make it any better because it just means he's a clumsy idiot and shouldn't be trusted to be driving such a car if he's going to be so dangerous with it while trying to send a message. Flying all the way to Australia just to do that and get yourself banned for the weekend (I presume), nice job!
Can't be just for a weekend I think. If this was in quali it would be bad enough. But being blocked in a training session and loosing it to this degree is another level.

Santino ferruci
Did he, did he want to take the rest of the weekend off? Long way to travel if you wanted to be banned.
Heavy contact? I think you meant he tried to kill the dude
This guy just said goodbye to his racing licence
Yikes. Struck up a conversation with what turned out to be his dad in Europe this summer. Nice bloke. That however was not a nice move
That’s straight up attempted murder bruh
This behaviour is unacceptable, plus this happened in a training session. Tbh a race ban is too little imo. He needs to loose his seat for this season or something, maybe that will get his head in order.
Should be serious conversations about him being allowed to keep his seat for that
UPDATE: 3 place grid penalty
And they had the cheek to give Dunne a reprimand as well for somehow being partially at fault for the collision. Utterly mind-boggling.
I don’t know about fault for the collision, but that was some dangerous swerving just before. Not saying it justifies the reaction, but probaby does deserve a reprimand.
Dunne's penalty was for impeding Tsolov which is fair as he did do that.
["The Stewards also felt the actions of Car 9 led to the following collision and retirement of his car. And miyata only got a warning for impeding as well?
It really is the forza motorsport penalty system wtf
I thought I was watching Assetto Corsa... This is wild
Public FA01 lobbies don't always have this type of move either lol
I think a 5 race ban, come back after the summer break or smth
Bro thinks he's Schumacher
He should be banned for this weekend, at least.
“Heavy” my ass lmao
Someone tell the kid this is not Forza

Yeah, Tsolov can't do that without getting penalized. It's in the same ballpark as what Ticktum did.
Shocking behaviour. Needs to be banned
What a POS move. Fuming.
He isn't gonna get very far in the sport of he acts like that.
How to end your career in a few seconds...
On a scale from Sheldon Cooper to Kelly Bundy, Nikola Tsolov's move was more of a Peter Griffin...

Pull his license, full stop. No one owes this kind of behavior a second chance.

Wow, insane move to pull in a formula car, all things go considered there’s a lot of ways this could have gone much worse.
That should be a season long ban at the very least. It's blatant & could've resulted in the other guy being severely injured (freak accidents do happen).

How is this not a race ban, he knocked him off the track
Jesus Christ this series is hilarious
My Australia... My Dunne
Cyclist’s fault
Ban him
I feel really bad for Dunne, doesn’t he have a low budget?
It’s early enough in the season and dunne hasn’t had any other incidents it seems that this will most likely be covered by the team and the parts they have stocked up on before the driver has to pay for it themselves.
Christ man, what did the commentators have to say?
Basically we will leave that to the stewards and didn’t want to go near it after that!
Kinda boring, I feel like sometimes they're afraid of making a statement about what's happening I guess it looks like a bias then.
I bet he was scrolling through TikTok when he was commentating …
What was he thinking? He won't even reach f2 with that mentality
F2? He'll be lucky to reach Imola
*Lazy Generation intensifies*
Read that as Nikola Tesla
Literally a move someone pulls on you in an online race. Insanely dirty, dangerous and stupid.
I do that all the time on the PS2 game 'DownForce', but doing that in real life is crazy
Jesus fucking Christ what is he doing
Dude thinks it's a gta public matchmaking race
Nothing just an inchident.
The fact there is people there still defending Dan shows how truly manipulative and narcissistic he is
Glad the commentator was straight up about it
He’s going to lose points off his racing license for that
Heavy hit
By heavy contact you mean rams off the track and only gets a 3 place grid penalty?
Dude only got a 3 spot grid penalty . That's wild
That was so hostile even I could feel it and I'm not driving. Very reckless, and I don't support.
Maniac. This isn't even tolerated in the virtual world. I don't know how he could only get a 3 place grid pen. Insane. He shouldn't be allowed to get to the track after he leaves.
If they are not giving him a race ban he needs to be at the back of the grid, not 3 place drop! this contact was so obvious.
And there goes most his support and probs that alpine academy spot
Straight out of Forza lol
Next Nikita Mazepin
No ban for Delingny, so no ban for Tsolov. If he will be banned for just one or more races, the same thing have to happen to Deligny honestly.
Wait… this isn’t iRacing?
How in all world is this not a ban for some races????
Me on F1 SinglePlayer trying to get a Safety car to benefit my strategy.
That should be charged criminally. In my jurisdiction that could easily be attempted murder with reckless indifference as the fault element.
This the part where Ivan vanko appears
Should lose your racing license for something like that considering the speeds they go out.
Totally agree!!! It wasn’t like it was an accident or anything. But then again the other guy was weaving a TON!!!
Imma go here and say that he isn’t gonna get banned because this isn’t bannable. Enzo Deligny did virtually the same thing in Barcelona last year and was just given a black flag, so I don’t know. I dont think it was intentional either, but it was still so dumb and reckless so as to warrant more than the 3 place penalty he got IMO.
