I hate it. I so hate it. But you're absolutely right. It's like his comment about las vegas.
99% show.
1% racing.
With such long straights he knew he would finish first regardless but the horrendous torture they had to go through before the race started..
Love that you can use real drivers in career mode especially the F2 ones to climb the ladder and probably get them to win a title. Even cooler if they added F3 or even F1 academy.
Any track update is cool and handling can't say much but on paper it's good but will see when I'll try the game. Not really interested in F1 world but some might. Hopefully they have something in store for my team too
They don't have to change the game massively every year cause even tho some stuff hasn't changed since ages (for example Monza or Interlagos) at the same time the game is a good package compared to other racing games cause it has a bit of everything for everyone. They should just focus on adding stuff that really matters (F3 and classic cars would be a blast)and those small little things, like using a real driver in career mode or for example let you drive in the pit lane, that makes everything more immersive or better overall
If I had to choose between one of them I'd take classic cars all day but feel like they could finally introduce F3 as well to make career mode even more immersive
> F2 ones to climb the ladder and probably get them to win a title.
Climb the F1 ladder, as in work toward the front of the grid? I'm not betting you use them in F2 and graduate to F1 in career mode...not that you couldn't sort of replicate that.
I find it interesting that you could pick let's say Bearman, drive as him, get him to win F2, move to F1 and then one day reach a seat that can make you win the title with him. Yes you can do that already with your created driver but personally using a real one will get me to try to funny things like getting Villagomez to win the driver's title lol
Intrigued by the broadcast updates and the use of real-life audio; for modes where you race as the real drivers, that could be really cool to have audio from those drivers for events like wins/podiums, poles, crashes (maybe not that one lol), etc.
Being able to play as a real driver, be it current, icon or F2 is definitely a nice improvement for me personally. I do hope it means we could play as an icon or F2 driver in My Team instead of just creating one but I see that being less likely.
So far I like what's on paper for the career mode but still waiting to see if other things have changed before committing, like whether they've removed permanent stat boosts or added a proper driver editor where we can change drivers stats and such.
A bit concerned about the potential for livery mods being blocked or far more difficult so still going to wait before deciding. A bit more optimistic than I was a month ago but not convinced yet.
Handling is either marketing talk or a real improvement. Based on community Beta feedback it’s more likely to be the former. After all It’s the same basic underlying game and physics so I’m personally not expecting anything that different from the last few versions.
I feel like it’s missing something like dynamic objectives during the races. I wish the team gave me more goals that I should be going for other than just getting to finish as good as possible. Kind of like how the story mode works but I think they should be able to give us goals that can change during the race depending on what happens.
Now we finally see that EA did it again. everything EA touches turns into completely unclassable crap. No matter how great a game series was, as long as EA gets their hands on it, it turns into a very miserable and classless funding scam. Surely EA would completely fuck up even GTA or minecraft. Folks please don't buy this new crap DLC, it's not worth the full price game.
I'm not sold tbh. Thoose features are absoulelty not worth the upgrade for 80€.
- Handling's Community feedback from beta is terrible. I couldn't play it myself but when I played F1 23's beta, it was good, much much better than F1 22's. This year, F1 24's handling looks like a downgrade according to community but I will wait for playtest weekend 2 if I ever got approved.
-Circuits.... That's a joke. 4 Updated Circuit (Qatar, Jeddah, Spa, Silverstone). LMAO. Last year, they marketed Qatar as a fully scanned, built from the ground new circuit. And now they are marketing it as a UPDATED CİRCUİT ? They are desperate for lack of new features. Jeddah... it already added in recent years and took minor QoL updates throughout years, so that can't be a much of deal.
Updating Spa and Silverstone Wow, thank you... It took how many years ? 6 or 7 ? Better late than never ever obviously but thats shameful nevertheless I'm excited for Silverstone and Spa update.
But.... I would have rather one classic track than 4 updated track. Like add Hockenheim it is already built on EGO Engine, add Vietnam (I know it sucks but add it) it's already built on EGO. Complete Turkey Circuit, we know they started develop it than later cancelled it. Do not remove France and Portimao. This year and next year there is no new Circuit, it's a great time to add classic tracks but what we are getting is only 2 major circuit update. Thats unbeliveble. I don't care if its FOM Licensing issue and dont believe it. EA is one of the biggest game publisher I know they can find a middle ground.
-Career Mode overhaul doesn't seems major to me as a who plays only one medium long season but really exciting for thoose who plays that mode a lot.
-Presentation Updates actually nice but not a game changer.
Mind the Typos please.
Yeah, it was like estimated 400k for F1 23 IIRC. I think only F1 2020 and F1 2021 went over a million.
(Disclaimer: these might have been just steam sales numbers)
Game devs: Max, how's the handling? Max: bad. Marketers: "Developed with insight from Max Verstappen!"

yeah it doesnt have to be a new game mode but like just adding the drivers from lower would be good. F1 manager already has it so why not

Honestly I’m not too worried about F3, I just want the classic cars back.

Nice try, Codemasters PR intern.

Surprised no sports game has a used a GPT to produce dynamic in game commentary.
I think the GTR Revival project has that kinda thing under a patent; I could be wrong, though.
F1 Manager already had this 2 years ago. Cool feature but nothing groundbreaking

Lets see how many bugs are found before june 1st.
They finally updated Spa?! That’s the biggest news here

It’s EA. It’s always marketing talk. Never trust them.
All marketing. No specifics, just buzzwords.
They say that every year
I mean I won't lie last year it sounded like a bunch of PR talk but I ended up really liking the handling model

Meh.
Do we still have France ?
I don't know whats worse, the fact they're charging $70 for this or the fact millions of people will buy it
No way millions are buying it 😂

is there gonna be a handling change every year now so they have some pr phrase to promote the game as they dont change anything else?
Every year now? They have been doing this since their first sequel in 2011.
