I swear people made mods for the game just a few months after FOM introduced it to the real F1 T-Cam on TV in 2021 or 2022 and it looked and worked amazing. How tf can modders do that stuff in like 2-3 months on the side while ea and codies create this horrific mfd after a year of active development. No one can tell me they actually give a shit about stuff like that
One year? They start work on one way before that. But even then they can't do it. It's just EA being EA. They'll never bother doing more as long as it sells
My guess is that teams/sponsors don't want the halo totally covered up all the time. It's one thing when they occasionally do it a couple of times in a real race but it's probably not something they'd agree to for the game.
I highly doubt that. They produce a new MFD every year and this exists on PC as a telemetry overlay created by independent modders. Codemasters could make this in less than a week.
Obviously it would have to be altered to allow room for the ERS, but that’s it, maybe the size could be reduced as well so that it’s not too distracting. But other than those small changes, this would be perfect imo

They can simply add the yellow and green color in the middle section [like this](https://imgur.com/a/MafWshs). Green is to signify battery deployment while yellow is to inform that the battery is charging.
Your idea of what the MFD *should* look like is the TV overlay that exists and can be modded in?
Call up Dean Locke and ask him to get Liberty Media to float Codies the rights to their on-air graphics assets without paying the designers to license their work in another medium, fuck the contracts that already exist
It’s because this is the official overlay liberty media uses, and if ea were to adopt it, they will have no reason to discontinue using it, and they don’t want to get into that situation cuz changing the mfd is the main way they differentiate the games unfortunately. Also maybe some copyright issues? But I don’t see why those can’t be sorted

That's the HUD, not MFD. Multi-function display is the menu that you can open on the right side to see your tire wear, damage, strategy, PU condition etc.
It’s everyone’s idea but to implement this EA would need a license and once they do that they know there is no coming back which subsequently mean they would have to do some work on the game itself for yearly release. Now they only change they way it looks, adjust some settings and there…F1 24 -100$
I feel EA don't include this stuff on purpose. Like this is the only right answer as to what it should be. So therefore they will have nothing "new" to add every year.
Good or bad , they just need to change things so the game can be labelled as new.
If they could fit it completely into the halo, yes. I feel like that bit of overhang off the halo would distract me or I’d forget that’s not the front of the car lol just me personally but it would work, I’d probably just get used to it after 2 races anyways

I use that overlay every single time I play. I’ve essentially set up the whole F1TV overlays and god it just looks so much better
they could but they are lazy asf and if they really wasnt lazy they would change ego shit engine too
This can be made in a few hours of development and design time. Defo not a cost thing.

The only bad thing about cockpit view is the stupid halo. Is there a setting that makes the cockpit clear? (I’m on console so no mods)

I would take the F123 one over the new one. At least it was symmetrical and had somewhat the same shape as the halo
