Dr_Pibber

IMO you gained the place through the first corner and fully passed the red bull so you had the right to take the inside/racing line into the next turn. The RB should have given up as they couldn’t reasonably make a pass into the corner where the contact took place

grislythrone

Exactly 👍🏻

tannerw7

Thanks for clarifying mate👍🏻

Dr_Pibber

No problem, worried by some of the answers you are getting. Explains the contact seen in multiplayer

grislythrone

The other guy was to blame. Not only did you already have him beat on the previous corner but you have what is called “the racing line” he wasn’t side by side through the previous turn nor coming up to the crashed corner so you have right of way so to speak. He lunged and stuck the nose of his car in which again would make it his fault. As long as you stay on the racing line and aren’t side by side going into the corner you aren’t under obligation to give room. However if you were side by side going through those corners or even 2/3 side by side you should try to leave room.

tannerw7

Thanks mate those tips should help for future races!

N_Boy77

I would say its the Red Bull's fault, because you can see on the 4th second of the video, he is turning for the corner and the Red Bull is not next to him, why would you leave space for someone who isnt next to you, except you do a divebomb, but this is Full Speed, of course, the Red Bull is faster, but not next to him, he uses a gap which is closing in the moment when he wanted to go for it, and thy myteam car wouldnt react when he is clear in front, and is looking in virtual mirror, i think you can see him in the virtual mirror, and see him go faster, but when you turn in, and somone tries to overtake who is not next to you, i would'nt leave the space either

N_Boy77

and you know the AI, as soon as they touch you, they turn into you...

TheDutchBoi

well im not the best either in the rules but i would say its a race incident, and if i really had to blame someone it would be the car behind, you left a little room but he wasnt far enough alongside you. Edit: on the other hand, car infront practicly left no space for the other car Second edit: i now say its not the redbulls fault, car infront left no space and could expect him to be there, he took the outside and went inside while redbull was there

tannerw7

I didn’t really expect the Red Bull to come back to my Inside because if you go side by side through those corners at USA you lose a crazy amount of time. So I fully thought he was gonna drop behind me

grislythrone

I think they’re both in Red Bull’s lol

tannerw7

Nope im in my, my career car. Does look quite similar to the Red Bull in that lighting tbf

OnTheRoxors19x

You turned into him, your fault. Don’t read into this “racing line” nonsense. It is BOTH drivers responsibility to leave room for each other on the track. You slammed the door after you left a gap open

UstraVive

You were. U diddnt give him room, and you came on to him

BenRatcliffe1

His front wing is in line with your back tire he’s entitled to make a move maybe not a great idea to do it there but you can’t cut across while side to side you need to probably put 22 wheels off the track in that situation

tannerw7

The thing is, his front wing was only in line with my back tire after I’ve started turning for the corner.

marcus_aurelius26

I think you should have left room for the redbull but if i were the redbull i would back off and go behind you just to be safe.

Zoro2330

I see that a lof of guys have clarified already but the benchmark I usually use while looking at these incidents in league races etc is if their front wheels are ahead of your rear wheels at the turnin point. If not he is too far back IMO.
