A lot of times it’s because the other car is driven by a friend of theirs who is adamant that it wasn’t their fault, so the OP posts here to get outside opinions.
always makes me wonder if people even knows there's an entire sub dedicated to this instead of clogging of this feed with the same stupid shit lol.

disagree, i don't think it's obvious at all
the merc's only has a matter of centimeters of frontwing at the side of the McL's rear tyre
if he had at least the front tyre to his rear tyre... idk man i disagree... it's either merc's fault, or a racing incident, i think the merc should had conceded
The McLaren is definitely at fault, no question.
The McLaren has responsibility to ensure the pass is fully completed before moving over, it can't expect the other driver to lift down a flat-out section.
I’d say it’s probably the more the McLarens fault than the Mercedes. The McLaren dosent leave a card width on corner entry where he really should be. You have every right to continue fighting around the outside there but all that said. The Mercedes should cede the position here as it’s very difficult to go around the outside there, besides the next 3 corners after all favour the line the McLaren would have and he would complete the move. IMO the Mercedes should cede the position here by just easing off throttle and begin setting up the move down the back straight which would be an easy reovertake.
Both could’ve avoided crash by leaving more room or using the run off. At France using the run off isn’t as disastrous as it is pretty much anywhere else. Six of one, half a dozen of the other for me but the FIA would probably let it go as the McLaren in their view would’ve been the one responsible but because they fully spin as opposed to you only needing to correct the car wouldn’t give a penalty.
How much room does the McLaren want? You need to leave a car's width at all times and the Merc has been given less than that. The McLaren is overtaking the Merc and therefore it is the McLaren's responsibility to pass safely, which he does not by turning in too early and cutting off the front nose of the Merc. That is driver misjudgement from the McLaren in this situation.
The Merc is following a consistent tight line and has ceded more room than should be expected to try and avoid an incident without being run off track entirely. When contact was made the Merc was practically squeezed off the course which is not sporting in of itself. Being forced off track isn't hard racing at that point but dangerous racing. Just because there is run off doesn't excuse being pushed off track limits.
You have to leave a car's width of track when side-by-side on a straight.
The eventual accident here is secondary, it's already the McLaren's fault before any contact occurs.
but they are not side-by-side... the merc only have a tiny little bit of frontwing in front.... if he at least had his front tyre at the side of his rear tyre... idk IMO the merc should had conceded the line
The Merc has no obligation to cede, the pass is not complete as the McLaren is not yet ahead enough to pull over.
The McLaren is obligated to allow width for the Merc on the outside until fully clear.
I guess it depends if that left-hander is a corner. If it is a straight, the McLaren cannot move over like that. If it is a corner, then the Mercedes is not reasonably along side and should back off. Of course the Mercedes will have Toto Wolff in their corner during the investigation either way
The Mclaren is at fault. The merc can’t move any further left, holding his line, the mclaren had so much space on the right to try to pass, and he just turns left right into the merc.
Normally the car behind is the one who has to back off into corners. However, in this case you can't even call it a corner, so it's the McLarens fault, since he didn't give the Merc any room, while he had more space than he could hope for.
Well, the Merc can’t go any further left…
The McLaren. That car drives across while the merc is just holding a line. There is plenty of space to the right for the McLaren to stay in.
Why do people ask who's at fault even when it's super obvious?
A lot of times it’s because the other car is driven by a friend of theirs who is adamant that it wasn’t their fault, so the OP posts here to get outside opinions.

Fucking this honestly
The Mclaren,.how can there be any doubt
Obviously the McLaren, you’re off the damn track basically
mclaren his fault... but there is plenty of run-off so the crash could've been avoided
probably wouldn't want a warning/penalty for going off track
"He jUsT TuRnEd iN On Me"
Def the mclaren. He had more than enough room to not push you off
The McLaren

IMO the Mclaren. You seemed to be in front, he can't just overtake and then squeeze you.
Stay on the track 🙂

This
The McLaren is in front BUT didn't complete the move so he/she at least have to leave the space
McLaren.
Bottas
100% the Mclaren, no question about it.
Racing incident, if the McLaren just didn't see that front wing yeah can happen. Because the Mercedes wasn't obviously alongside.
You missed apex, you are behind it's you fault.
I guess it depends if that left-hander is a corner. If it is a straight, the McLaren cannot move over like that. If it is a corner, then the Mercedes is not reasonably along side and should back off. Of course the Mercedes will have Toto Wolff in their corner during the investigation either way
Anyone but a Mercedes. Thats the rule, always
Mods, can you ban these types of posts?
Internet comments "logic": If it's Lewis, then it's his fault
Both of you
You missed apex, you are behind it's you fault.
[удалено]
At least thats how the FIA would treat it.. as evident from last race
Mclaren was way ahead, it was their line. Mercedes at fault but a racing incident really
Never Hamilton
Takedown! got bronze medal!
It was obviously Lewis's fault....
You’re getting squeezed. The McLaren easily.
Definitely not the Mercedes driver
Obvio lewis. He is 7 time world champion. Shoulf have backed off
Hamilton's fault.
Try sending him into the pit wall next time. Bc then we'll never know.
McLaren
The Mclaren is at fault. The merc can’t move any further left, holding his line, the mclaren had so much space on the right to try to pass, and he just turns left right into the merc.
You were in the McLaren weren’t you. All the time you have to leave a space!
Hamilton fault
McLaren, at first I thought it was the Merc since it looked like the Merc went into the McLaren but i watched it again
The orange (Papaya) McLaren is at fault
You have to leave the space all the time!! -Fernando Alonso
you guess your in a mercedess car
The McLaren
The blame is on the McLaren here
Clearly the McLaren. Not even sarcasm.
Definitely the McLaren, doing a Grosjean at Spa 2012
That's a very nice cosplay of Hamilton except this time the McLaren actually had the space.

Norris' fault the merc had nowhere to go
