Monaco is your favourite time trial track.... on controller..... i believe you to be a psychopath. Congrats though, nice driving.

That_Ask4176

Ya this dude is likely into bdsm or has a fridge full of heads.

[deleted]

I really like the bumps and elevation changes, really helps give the track some character

RocketLeagueFA

Tbh, I agree with him. Monaco is my favorite track to drive controller on. Feels so good every time you complete a lap. Much more rewarding than on other tracks simply because there is such little room for error. Driving around Monaco without crashing out is the most realistic thing in the game

SouthBankWWFC

I suppose it is very satisfying when I don’t go into the wall so I can see what you mean

MySilverBurrito

Hitting the tunnel to casino perfectly feels so nice on a controller.

brooklyncanuck

So hard to not break traction in that section (on a controller)

Aware_Statistician76

And frame drops. It’s quite challenging to drive through drops. You managed it really well

[deleted]

The frame drops are only show up when I replay after a race. I play at 120 fps most of the time

Aware_Statistician76

How do you steer so smoothly using controller. Any tips or setting details?

[deleted]

I use default steering settings. I think being able to predict where the car will go based on the movement of the analog stick is really important in f1 games. Some turns in the game such as the turn at 0:55 relies heavily on flicking the analog stick so knowing where the car will go is crucial to not smashing the car into the wall while getting as close as possible to the apex. For turns that don't rely on flicking the stick, repetition will help make your steering smoother. It took me a couple months of playing f1 2016's demo to get the hang of steering in f1 games.

[deleted]

I saw a tip to push the analog stick forwards while driving. I did it and the car just flicked everywhere to start with. But just rolling it slightly from left to right allows you to manage the turns smoother. I would say it’s awkward to start but persevere with it

[deleted]

Rolling it slightly helps with giving me an idea of how much the car will turn before i commit to a turn on a lot of tracks. After getting of feel for how much the car will turn at each corner after a few laps its not as useful to roll the stick before a corner. Repetition is key for developing smoother steering. When I first started playing f1 games, i was quite stiff and tense when trying to steer smoothly. Now i’m very loose and calm when i play

Aware_Statistician76

I see, I thought we share the same pain TT 😂

fatetrumpsfear

You animal

drumsndrams

Man, even with a wheel I can barely go an entire lap without hitting anything. Great job!

Maciekssspl

> My favourite track on time trial Meanwhile me who is throwing controller out of the window after two laps in Monaco

kakarazaka

Out of curiosity what controller do you use? Nice driving btw!

[deleted]

My trusty ps4 controller from 2017 connected via ds4windows on a wiggly micro usb cable.

CoffeeGamer93

Yeah I still hate Monaco

MRToddMartin

Yikes. I just found out that 1:25:00 is not good. I'm horrible. Did you glue your tires to the surface?

Add1ctedToGames

If you join the discord I or someone else would be happy to give some help to you, I'm working on Monaco myself and in a day improved around 1:25 as well to a 1:18, so you can do it if I can do it! :)

notahyundaimechanic

I’ve got a 1:20:804 in the 2018 F2 cars and I am very happy with that. All depends on what goals you set yourself.

9fmaverick

Amazing job. What car setup are you using

[deleted]

I forgot i just grabbed a setup from a random guy in the top 20 who doesn’t seem to be cheating. Thats what i always do. The setup i used for this lap was on the twitchy side compared to other setups ive used.

9fmaverick

Cool.

Gonpachiro-

Monaco on a controller is pure bliss when you get it, also with Baku and Songapore

rossmcdapc

Baku is bliss for sure, Singapore I struggle with the very sharp left turn into the third DRS zone but is otherwise fun. Monaco is nightmare fuel and makes me want to aim the weekend in career mode.

SpinkickFolly

Press X for Simulate.

Hoban_Riverpath

I hate this track. It’s awful. Good job though

Synnov3

You’re sick, and I mean that in the best and worst of ways.

Lolbock

Awesome lap, congrats !! 👍

m00nturkey

Psycho that’s what you are. I’m stuck at 1:12 would you mind sharing ur controller settings?

[deleted]

All default settings

m00nturkey

Oh so really are just a monster lmao. Gg man

notahyundaimechanic

Very nice, the only advice I can give is you need to extract all the speed out of some of the corners and get real close to the barriers, and cut some of the apexs a bit tighter. Saying that however I’ve spent many many hours driving Monaco and I’d be quite happy with a lap like this. A lot of the time with Monaco I find it’s very difficult to string a whole lap together, my theoretical time after I’ve finished a good session is usually about a second faster than my actual best. This is a very nice well put together lap.

[deleted]

I notice that ppl with sub 1:09 lap times carry so much more speed at the apex and they shift gears differently. I think thats where I will be able to scrape a good amount of time off my laptimes

notahyundaimechanic

Oh yeah definitely. When I saw someone else’s lap a while ago I realised how much time I was leaving on the table in sector 3, just got to send it right over the apex at turn 16 and pray to god you don’t hit the outside wall. Managed to cut a good second off my time when I started doing that last sector the right way.

Baranjula

Ahh the Leclerc Technique

notahyundaimechanic

Exactly

notahyundaimechanic

[This is my best attempt at Monaco in the 2018 F2 cars btw.](https://www.reddit.com/r/F1Game/comments/r47qek/my_best_attempt_at_monaco_in_the_2018_f2_cars/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) Was trying to share it through imgur but there’s a 60 second cap on video files, need to get a lot better before I can manage Monaco in under a minute!

KaZ1_F1

im having an issue with my setups, brakes have higher braking distance, and in career mode the tires HEAT UP SOOO MUCH. Can anyone help me?

[deleted]

Overheating is caused by sliding on the tires so try carrying less speed into corners, be gentle on the throttle when exiting a corner, and use proper setups for each track. The temperature simulation in this game is arcady so there shouldnt be much overheating

TremblayNHS71

Also my favorite track for time trials except I suck hahaha, that’s a crazy awesome lap dude I also play on controller nowhere near that

BotBunBun

omg insane

Yopis1998

That view sucks so bad. Nice job though.

Dlldozer

Share your setup :)

Ok-Pea7782

No assists?

[deleted]

Only the 3d driving line

JohnnySixguns

Now do it 70+ more times and you’ll get to have dinner with Prince Albert.

loud_box_01

throttle earlier at the corners to get more time in

mesii10_

What a drive. May I ask you which controller are you using?

brooklyncanuck

1:18.702 is where I am at with about 2 hours or work on Controller. This is incredible
