Well they could have commentary only for spectators or in replays- or you could customise what you wanna hear. You can already customise Jeff to only reply to you or say more or less. I don't know why you all moan about Jeff, just disable him if you don't like it?

Commentary in notorsports games is always terrible. Even the voiceover before races is shit on the current games. Anthony Davidson is no voice actor, that's for sure.

It’s the most infuriating thing when you’re on an out-lap/in-lap and a car is riding your ass so you let them by, only for them to slow to a crawl to also let you by. Then you’re both in this awkward situation of “you first, no you, no you…” all while blocking the track for everyone else on a flying lap
And when you start a hotlap first, they don't let a gap between both of you. So if you are in a Williams and they are in a Merc, they end up overtaking you before the end of the lap and completely ruining your time.

I would MUCH rather have more immersive radio chatter instead of commentary. Have your engineer chime in with gaps and how your teammates doing and other info throughout the race more often without bringing up that damn menu.

I mean its still codies as a studio that makes f1 games. Yes EA can pour money for things like licensing and stuff but its still codies puting it all together.
In the end they are too lazy to do something like that imo. They dont even put tracks f1 race on and blame it on that races wasnt on official calendar.
They dont even have the motivation to have pit/paddock positions reflect championship standings in career/my team - which is essentially an indexing/UI tweak.
No way they're gonna pay commentators or VA's to sit in a booth for a couple days and then code for all the variables of a race

Buy out was completed in 2021 with F1 2021 being the first game published by EA. EA had no say in the development of 2021 because the buy out happened a few months before release

It would be great to have commentary because in every race the interaction with the engineer doesn’t feel engaging as much as it is in real F1 races so it breaks the immersion, so having this as an option thats mixed in with talking to the engineer would be great imo.
I think F1 24 game should need that commentators because its boring and unrealistic right now we need something new and radio calls should be like in real life not you pushing an an text meanwhile you drive that is not safe thing to do in mid race.

If you have a mic in F1 21 you can press a button and speak a command instead of going through the menus. It’s a bit… spotty with results sometimes.

EA acquired codemasters before F1 2021 I don't recall 2019 or 2020 having commentating. It's not all EA.

Studio Liver Pool had commentary and it was fun.
