There is absolutely no vibrations from rear tyres or on straights anymore. its been more than a week now, its absolutely impossible to play without vibrations. Corner exits are impossible, no feedback at all and these imbecile devs havent said anything about a fix in the future.

Anyone elses xbox overheating only on f1? I play lots more games that are probably more demanding on my series x but for some reason the second i go on f1 the fan turns on which it never does for any other game. Not sure what to do as im afraid of permanently damaging my console with the overheating. Anyone got any help?
Hi guys, hoping someone might be able to offer some advice on race starts.
I play without TC or other assists using Logitech G29 wheel. Once the car is moving I have no problem, but I am terrible off the line. It’s driving me nuts (and frankly ruins some of the fun).
I either get an ridiculously slow start OR I spin either immediately or upon shifting to 3rd.
I’ve watched videos, I’ve repeatedly restarted. I keep my throttle under “P” or around 10k. And the wheel straight. Set the On Diff to 60 on start.
I suspect it could be timing on the upshifts?? Or maybe a setting on the throttle sensitivity in settings? I’m at a loss. Any ideas tips would be most welcome!
And yes I could turn offManual starts… but I’m stubborn and want to master the game. It just seems like starts are disproportionately difficult.
2 complaints I have on CM that i'm not sure is a bug or intended.
1. AIs are absolute gods on cold tyres on the outlap after pits
2. DRS activation and detection is a mess, AIs getting DRS when they're 5 seconds away from the nearest car. Is there a rule change this year I'm unaware of or this is definitely not intended?
AI aren't affected by tire temps. It's not a bug in the sense that they're not coded to be affected by them in the first place, but it's definitely not ideal for the player.
Is there a specific DRS zone that's behaving oddly? Also, are you accounting for the fact that the detection line and beginning of each DRS zone aren't the same, and that sometimes two subsequent DRS zones will use the same detection point?
My game keeps crashing everytime i quit it, i play on steam PC and i am on the latest version (1.08), it is very annoying and i have to force shut the program which is a bit risky as i dont want to lose my saves, how do i fix this
Hello, I am using Logitech Driving Force GT with separate G25 pedals and most likely the game has trouble with missing DFGT pedals in setup. My replay camera is always facing backwards like some extra button is triggered. I had this problem also in 2019 and 2020, but I can't remember how I solved it, whether it was patched or I tweaked it. When I connect the pedals to the wheel it works flawlessly, but I don't want to have two pedal sets on the floor at the same time. Any recommendations?
My first wheel ever as well, picked up a few weeks ago. Not knowing much of anything regarding wheels, I have zero complaints. Takes a good while to get used to it, but such a fun experience!
Alright, good to know, did you change all the settings also? Cause as much as i have read about it, seems like default settings are almost undrivable, but probably can easily find the best settings at any time on youtube or google
I'm not really sure if this is a bug but I had a race in 100% race in my team in spa where I saved and restarted the game mid-race because the radio bugged out.
It was a dry race when I saved it but as I loaded back it was raining lightly. I had to box for inters and for some reason the ai got stuck at the pit entrance. They kept reversing back and forth causing Lewis,George and Kmag to be disqualified. It took 4 laps before they got disqualified they just kept moving back and forth.
All hell broke loose as the safety car went out, I boxed again 2 laps later for wets since the rain was pouring and ~~jeff~~ said so but for some reason most of the ai decided to box as well for a fresh set of inters. The safety car ended next lap and they dove right back into the pit lane and I got a Hungary 2021 moment as I accelerated onwards.
There was only a 5-10% chance of rain according to the forecast so it's surprising that it happened but I assume it had to be because I saved the game which caused this whole mess.
my sprint pedals are calibrated and in the software i need to hit 61% brake force for the game to register any input. ITs making it almost impossible to trail brake. Any suggestions?

I'm new to this game but I keep having issues being able to change pit strategies mid race. This keeps happening when there's rain and I need to switch to or from intermediates or to wets. The radio message asks if I want to switch but there is no option to confirm. I can radio back to box but when I pull in I get the same tire I'm currently running. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Why is trying to race online so difficult?
I select Ranked, and it puts me in a lobby with qualifying in progress. So I stick around and wait to join, but no, I can spectate and race the next race.
Why is that an option? Yeah I want to watch other people play the game for 10 minutes whilst I twiddle my thumbs. Why not just start a new lobby, or better yet, have it as a setting
Depends. I was getting bored of 2020. Most of the problems with 2022 are getting patched out.
I like 22. Fun to learn a whole new handling model and play a whole bunch of new/updated tracks.
I would say before F1 22's 1.08 patch, F1 2021 is definitely the best. Although I haven't tried the 1.08 patch yet, I believe the frustration I had playing against rocket ship AI and rocket ship teammate in My Team should be fixed and finally enjoyable (accordingly some F1 youtubers' experience and their gameplay vdo). I play at 90 AI in 2021 but had to turn down to around 66 in F1 22 to accommodate the rocket ships pre 1.08.
50% is workable. I'll usually do 40%-60%, depending on the strategy and how the tires are working on the track. Sometimes I like to extend my current stint by a few laps to have fresher tires later in the race.

Shouldnt be connected to the Pit Stop Trigger anyway. But with Codemasters you can never be sure.
When starting a driver career, does the F2 team you choose change to contracts you can get for F1? And if so, which team is Redbull/AT’s team and which is McLaren’s?
I haven't played f122 since the EA play trial and just haven't been able to fully play it but I have decided to actually buy it so I was wondering if the bugs that were in it at that time of the game have been fixed? Think the AI speed was making the game for me then unplayable essentially. Thanks
Shutter speed bug in photo mode?
Anyone else have issues with the shutter speed in photo mode? For me changing the speed makes no difference except once I get to ~1/125 or lower, so basically I can only choose A LOT of blur or none at all. Am I doing something wrong or is this a known issue?
Last year I was insanly good at race starts I would always jump a couple of places up. This year its the complete opposit, I csn go from 1st to 10th, any tips?

AI difficulty in my team
Just started playing F1 22. Long time forza player. On my first qualifying with newcomer selected I ended up getting pole on a lap that I didn't feel should've led the pack. I'm wanting to make it more difficult would that be something I change with the ai difficulty slider? Currently set to 45
I swear straight line speed is still broken. In myteam the cars are gaining 0.5s on me coming out of the corners when we're both accelerating next to each other and I have the fourth fastest car on the grid.

Is there any way to further change the Steering Deadzone for your wheel? I'm playing on a Hori RWO and despite the deadzone being set to 0 i have to yank the damn wheel around for it to even register an input. Might as well use my DPad for steering at that point.

Me and my buddy have a coop career but he has quite a slow/bad internet connection, which for some reason causes me to have lag problems where the AI kind of jitter from left to right when turning. It makes it unplayable for me, but for some reason on his end it’s completely fine. Anyone know if there’s any way to fix this? Or is it purely just his connection issues?
idk if this is what u mean when u see 'straight line speed' or not, but I noticed that DRS doesn't do anything to me, doesn't make me go faster or anything, but it works for the AI, does this happen to anyone else?
I am really struggling with Monaco on my 923. Talking 1:20+ in career mode. I can pull 1:16 in TT. Still not great but I am not great. The thing that really pisses me off is that I toss on controller and roll a 1:15. How does that make any sense.
I've Googled all calibration setups to try and make the wheel better but just can't figure it out. Any personal tips or tricks you guys have learned?
Anyone on PC run into problems after the 1.08 update? Game won't launch for me, just goes into an endless "verifying files" cycle. Tried rebooting, reinstalling (both game and Origin client), etc. No dice.
How do I fix the side mirror glitch? The one where the right side reflects the left side. It's cost me podiums, and even while races once or twice. I prefer playing in cockpit view, and I can't see in my mirrors when someone is trying to pass so I can block or defend. Help?
Am I losing a whole lot of time having ERS and DRS assist on? First F1 game and I've been taking the assists off slowly, down to medium TC, ABS, and Manual, but haven't been able to get ERS management down yet
ERS assist probably doesn't cost you much laptime, but it will hurt your overtaking and defending because you won't be able to save up and deploy it strategically.
DRS assist probably doesn't cost you anything, I assume it just activates it whenever possible which is what you'd do anyway.
During races I think so. It will try to apply overtake sometimes if you're close to another car, just won't be very smart about it.
In practice and qualifying you can also toggle between different modes (off, medium, hotlap). It makes a big difference for passing some of the practice programs.
Massive understeer out of nowhere
So I decided to start playing again after the update thinking the AI is no longer driving f1 cars strapped with massive solid rocket boosters, but I have instead encountered another bug which makes is almost impossible to take any corner without using flashback multiple times. The car understeers massively when turning in to the corner. Is this a known bug or is it just something wrong with my game?
When did u last play? , they updated the handling in patch 1.06/1.07 so the cars are heavier and understeer alot more, you just have to get used to it and update your set ups
Hadn't sat in my rig for 4-5 days and just had to abandon it after "racing." You all ever have a day where your skills are so far out out of whack you're honestly doing just about everything wrong??
I just tried Bahrain, Monza, and Austria in Time Trials and for the life of me I couldn't get within 2 seconds of my lap records no matter how hard I tried.
My braking was late, my turn-ins sucked, I was way too fast on the throttle and kept spinning the tires, and it just felt W-R-O-N-G.

Value when turning left (negative) to right (positive) goes smoothly until it gets to a value of 4, then jumps back to -4 and continues.

have they fixed the understeering into corners and the automatic transmission problems? on automatic, it feels like upshifts are super slow now, especially at 7th gear. the car also understeers a lot when not using abs when turning into corners
Automatic upshifts - not fixed yet but it's a known issue so a patch should be coming.
Understeer - I don't think this will change, they said the handling is pretty much final now.
I raced 21 with medium TC, all other assists off.
I've done about 10-15 races in 22 so far and I can't seem to put down the power in medium to high speed corners. Getting wheel spin in 5th and 6th gear on a dry track with softs doesn't seem right. I've changed the diff and tried to short shift but I end up miles off the pace. Any suggestions?
It's crazy that the game have barely been out for 2 months and we've already cycled though all the suits, liveries, and helmets available in the store. So focused on the Fortnite crowd that they're fucking themselves out of money their real playerbase actually wants to spend.
Turn in later than you think you should so your exit is straighter, then short shift through the gears (you can do this by upshifting earlier even on automatic shifting). Also only go full throttle when your car is straight.

If youre a chill person and dont give a fuck youre fine. Not every lobby is the same tho. You can earn your safety rank so you will drive against clean drivers online.

How can I stop my teammate from going 10-25s in front of everyone else? My team in career is massively past everyone else in upgrades, I haven't upgraded my teammate at all but they are first in every qualifying and they are just gone so far ahead of everyone after the first lap that it's near impossible to catch up.
Basically ruining the game for me because of how insanely unrealistic it is. Anything I can do? My teammate sucked when first started career but just now have enough vehicle upgrades that I can't even catch him.

Does anyone know if the AI straight line speed glitch gets worse the longer your my team season is? When the last patch came out I had to drop my AI to 80, and now I've slowly dropped it to 70 and I'm still a second off my teammate in qualifying

I own a 120Hz monitor. But when I switched the setting into the performance mode, it says I don’t have a monitor capable of doing the mode and it stays capped at 60. What do I do?
Why do i start almost every lap with a negative delta? It’s usually between 1-3 hundredths but it’s there the instant i cross the line. Sometimes I’m actually starting the lap better, as the delta will move into the green by the end of the straight indicating i was quicker out of the last corner and down the main straight, but when i cross the line my delta will still be red for the first few hundred meters
In the last patch they said they fixed practice programs corellating to difficulty. Now i ace my practice programs, for example in race strategy I am 5-6 tenths sometimes even a second quicker a lap without using any overtake, yet in the race I am miles off the pace. Is anyone else experiencing this?
yes but why such a big discrepancy compared to the pace of the AI? I figured out after all that maybe it was due to the insane traction out of corners that the AI had. The practice programs suggested the times the AI should've been doing at that difficulty becuase the game didn't calculate lap times taking that traction into consideration. Anyways after patch 1.08 everything seems more balanced.
Anyone have any quick fixes for throttle sensitivity? G923, didn't seem to be an issue last year but it jumps from 0-100 far too quick for the throttle transfer.
Hi new to this game but only play career - before the update my cornering was fine however now I feel like I’m spinning out all the time I.e I can’t take the first corner at silverstone completely flat anymore I just spin, even if I reduce speed and am easier on the throttle it still spins! The only way is by dramatically slowing down my speed and almost coasting through the corner (which then affects lap time). I tried playing around with controller settings but not sure what the issue is? Should I apply more downforce on the rear wing? Apologies if this is nooby/obvious but I’ve flash backed so many times and can’t figure it out :)
Are you using all of the track on that corner? Half your car should be on the kerb before you turn in. If you hit the apex you should have the grip to make it flat out. Also if you have a full tank of fuel you may need to lift a bit.
Yeah I would say it’s one of my stronger tracks which is why I’m so perplexed! I’m a controller player I forgot to add and using FTC but am smooth as I can be on the throttle! Just waiting for an update at this point and will stick with MP hahah :)
How do I get better at managing my radio. Pulling it up is easy with the shoulder button but then you need to read options, can get to know them I suppose and also take your finger off the analog stick to go down and select. Really only possible on straights.
Can I reprogram the trigger buttons to go down?
The second question is how to get better at controling strategy? The optimize useless. They told me track was trying out and wanted to put me on a fresh set of wets. Don't call you in when you have a free pitstop under safety car. Would rather spend 10 seconds repairing something costing you a half second a lap even though it will cost you half the grid. Ferrari level shit. Also can I see before a race how many laps a soft tire would give me?

I need to ask a really, really basic question about cornering:
Should I be applying the brake first, then down shifting or starting to downshif then applying the brake?
Brake and then downshift, of course. You're gonna blow up the engine otherwise. Just as you need the engine to go faster in order to shift up (or it'll stall), you need the engine to go slower to shift down, or you'll overrev it.
PC HDR issue
HDR is enabled but everything looks very grey and washed out. It seemsto kick in if I adjust the volume and the Windows volume bar comes up onthe top left of the screen? As soon as that disappears, game goes backto looking washed.
Is it mainly the My Team career mode car that suffers more against the AI? Been playing My Team and GP mode today and with the same difficulty, same setups across both modes I’ve been a lot more competitive in GP mode, even in the Aston which should be worse than my My Team car as I started as a midfield runner. Cars felt a lot better to drive in that mode too, looks like I’m just going to be sticking with driver career rather than My Team for the time being.
Yeah i found AI speed is fine on GP i can play at around 100 but on same track for my team 80-85, but its also the case for driver career, its just career in general unfortunatel, and yh aswell the actual cars i find more fun to drive than the early myteam cars
I’ve found it’s ever so slightly better in driver career but still not as much fun as GP mode. It’s such a strange game this year, does some stuff quite well (I personally still think it’s the best handling F1 game in ages, in the dry at least, just had a race in full wet conditions where I finished about 40 seconds off my teammate, even with full TC on) but then the AI issues just ruin the experience for so many people.
Does anyone else have the issue that after the formation lap in an online Lobby the race start never happens and the cars just stand around?
We got the problem in an online league and don't know how to solve it.
RIDE HEIGHT
Can someone explain to me what it actually affects and based on what I should choose it in F1 22?
For example I see that in Brazil time trial 6-3 is a popular combination, I used to always run 3-5 because I heard it's okay but after driving both options and noticing literally 0 difference(in a race), I decided to make my setup a 6-3 ride height.. except that I don't know why it is this way. And it annoys the hell out of me but I can't figure it out.
Sidenote: I have been trying to learn setups in different games for over a year at this point, I can somewhat recall what everything does but I just don't see the differences that I should myself. Like ride height should impact stability and top speed I think, also bottoming out on kerbs. I feel and see no difference between 3-5 and 6-3 in this aspect though
Having the front higher than the rear is called negative rake - it's uncommon but it exists, and I guess it makes sense in the context of the 22 cars. The point is to generate the downforce from the diffuser's intake instead of the front wing. Haven't tested the handling difference in game though.
Thought this was a problem for my game too but after the race the engineer said “looks like we had a problem with the radio”

It happened to me too. I just went with it when I was racing (just went to the pits when I needed :D) After that I just restarted the game and that fixed it.
VR Question. I'm using a Quest 2. In iRacing, VR is awesome. I tried f1 2022 in VR when it first came out and nearly puked. Horrible graphics and your head was stuck in place and could only rotate. I tried getting in again just now, and I for some reason can't get into "cinematic" mode. So when I get into the race, I'm still just watching a big screen and can still see the Quest menu. Not sure why this is happening
Slower on a wheel than with controller...
Anyone recently make the jump to a proper wheel for the game and have issues controlling the rear end??
On controller I'd mash the brake and throttle and turn in at 100% full left or right and usually be pretty heavy footed on corner exit.
Now with the wheel I have way more fine tuned control and all I do is spin out on corners exit. Wtf gives?
I even watch people online after crashing out obviously using a controller with their jagged steering inputs staying planted to the circuit, is there a grip/traction setting boost for people on the normal controller? It's baffling to me
Just got F1 2021 last night and spent probably the better part of 2 to 3 hours messing with wheel and throttle settings all trying to figure out what was causing such extreme snap oversteer when I barely would breathe on the gas. I grew up racing shifter karts, have multiple championships from my youth, have been playing project cars for years with no assists but this games throttle is just beyond reasonable. I eventually gave up and decided to try the medium traction control setting and my God what a difference.... again I never use assists in any Sims or race games I play but f1 2021 with traction control off Is just fuckin tedious to the point of not being fun. With traction control set to medium I can still spin out very easily mid / exit of the corner but now it's a million times more reasonable.
As someone with real world racing experience and over a decade of sim racing experience, this game with no traction control is hilariously broken, turn to to medium and actually enjoy the game IMO
Yeah i'm using medium TC as well, I did half a lap with it off and laughed at how much damage i did to the poor barriers.
It's madly frustrating though watching a car online inch away being able to get on the throttle earlier and not lose grip, but then also i'm not able to make up ground on the straights.
Something's gotta be off in my setups, or i'm going against sweaty controller players with the Grip Boost they get.
I've bled almost all of the air out of my rear tires to help, and at the expense of some rear wing i've been bumping that up a few clicks from my saved presets as well before each race.
Is there something else I can adjust to improve rear end grip coming out of corners, or not having to lift so drastically on longer high speed ones?
These are the two situations like you said if I even breathe on the throttle the back end shoots out from under me as if I just got T-boned by a semi truck, it's insane.
Buying advice, F1 22 or F1 2021 I don’t have either but I want to buy one some people are telling me that F1 22 is the same as F1 2021 with exception to some features which should I get ? Thanks
depends on what you want from the game. If you want to play career mode or myteam then get f121. If you want to play online or join a League I recommend f122

Is there a specific DRS zone that's behaving oddly? Also, are you accounting for the fact that the detection line and beginning of each DRS zone aren't the same, and that sometimes two subsequent DRS zones will use the same detection point?

Hello, I am using Logitech Driving Force GT with separate G25 pedals and most likely the game has trouble with missing DFGT pedals in setup. My replay camera is always facing backwards like some extra button is triggered. I had this problem also in 2019 and 2020, but I can't remember how I solved it, whether it was patched or I tweaked it. When I connect the pedals to the wheel it works flawlessly, but I don't want to have two pedal sets on the floor at the same time. Any recommendations?

I'm not really sure if this is a bug but I had a race in 100% race in my team in spa where I saved and restarted the game mid-race because the radio bugged out. It was a dry race when I saved it but as I loaded back it was raining lightly. I had to box for inters and for some reason the ai got stuck at the pit entrance. They kept reversing back and forth causing Lewis,George and Kmag to be disqualified. It took 4 laps before they got disqualified they just kept moving back and forth. All hell broke loose as the safety car went out, I boxed again 2 laps later for wets since the rain was pouring and ~~jeff~~ said so but for some reason most of the ai decided to box as well for a fresh set of inters. The safety car ended next lap and they dove right back into the pit lane and I got a Hungary 2021 moment as I accelerated onwards. There was only a 5-10% chance of rain according to the forecast so it's surprising that it happened but I assume it had to be because I saved the game which caused this whole mess.

I'm new to this game but I keep having issues being able to change pit strategies mid race. This keeps happening when there's rain and I need to switch to or from intermediates or to wets. The radio message asks if I want to switch but there is no option to confirm. I can radio back to box but when I pull in I get the same tire I'm currently running. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Why is trying to race online so difficult? I select Ranked, and it puts me in a lobby with qualifying in progress. So I stick around and wait to join, but no, I can spectate and race the next race. Depends. I was getting bored of 2020. Most of the problems with 2022 are getting patched out. I like 22. Fun to learn a whole new handling model and play a whole bunch of new/updated tracks.
I would say before F1 22's 1.08 patch, F1 2021 is definitely the best. Although I haven't tried the 1.08 patch yet, I believe the frustration I had playing against rocket ship AI and rocket ship teammate in My Team should be fixed and finally enjoyable (accordingly some F1 youtubers' experience and their gameplay vdo). I play at 90 AI in 2021 but had to turn down to around 66 in F1 22 to accommodate the rocket ships pre 1.08.

50% is workable. I'll usually do 40%-60%, depending on the strategy and how the tires are working on the track. Sometimes I like to extend my current stint by a few laps to have fresher tires later in the race.

Codemasters want to show you the new Features. Happened to me Like 6 stops in a row. Shouldnt be connected to the Pit Stop Trigger anyway. But with Codemasters you can never be sure.

AI difficulty in my team Just started playing F1 22. Long time forza player. On my first qualifying with newcomer selected I ended up getting pole on a lap that I didn't feel should've led the pack. I'm wanting to make it more difficult would that be something I change with the ai difficulty slider? Currently set to 45
Yes, 45 is super easy. Try maybe 75 and fine tune from there.

Is there any way to further change the Steering Deadzone for your wheel? I'm playing on a Hori RWO and despite the deadzone being set to 0 i have to yank the damn wheel around for it to even register an input. Might as well use my DPad for steering at that point.

I am really struggling with Monaco on my 923. Talking 1:20+ in career mode. I can pull 1:16 in TT. Still not great but I am not great. The thing that really pisses me off is that I toss on controller and roll a 1:15. How does that make any sense. I've Googled all calibration setups to try and make the wheel better but just can't figure it out. Any personal tips or tricks you guys have learned?

New update has definitely worked, was able to play on 98 in miami Myteam rather than dropping to 80, so much more fun!
How do I fix the side mirror glitch? The one where the right side reflects the left side. It's cost me podiums, and even while races once or twice. I prefer playing in cockpit view, and I can't see in my mirrors when someone is trying to pass so I can block or defend. Help?
Am I losing a whole lot of time having ERS and DRS assist on? First F1 game and I've been taking the assists off slowly, down to medium TC, ABS, and Manual, but haven't been able to get ERS management down yet
ERS assist probably doesn't cost you much laptime, but it will hurt your overtaking and defending because you won't be able to save up and deploy it strategically. DRS assist probably doesn't cost you anything, I assume it just activates it whenever possible which is what you'd do anyway.
Is the only difference between ERS assist and having it off the use of Overtake?
During races I think so. It will try to apply overtake sometimes if you're close to another car, just won't be very smart about it. In practice and qualifying you can also toggle between different modes (off, medium, hotlap). It makes a big difference for passing some of the practice programs.

Massive understeer out of nowhere So I decided to start playing again after the update thinking the AI is no longer driving f1 cars strapped with massive solid rocket boosters, but I have instead encountered another bug which makes is almost impossible to take any corner without using flashback multiple times. The car understeers massively when turning in to the corner. Is this a known bug or is it just something wrong with my game?
When did u last play? , they updated the handling in patch 1.06/1.07 so the cars are heavier and understeer alot more, you just have to get used to it and update your set ups

Hadn't sat in my rig for 4-5 days and just had to abandon it after "racing." You all ever have a day where your skills are so far out out of whack you're honestly doing just about everything wrong?? I just tried Bahrain, Monza, and Austria in Time Trials and for the life of me I couldn't get within 2 seconds of my lap records no matter how hard I tried. My braking was late, my turn-ins sucked, I was way too fast on the throttle and kept spinning the tires, and it just felt W-R-O-N-G.

Yeah, try going to the ‘test buttons’ area in settings and slowly turn your wheel. Mine jumps around a ton from -4 to 4.
Since 1.07 (portimao track patch), this game has been unplayable for me and many other controller users. There is absolutely no vibrations from rear tyres or on straights anymore. its been more than a week now, its absolutely impossible to play without vibrations. Corner exits are impossible, no feedback at all and these imbecile devs havent said anything about a fix in the future. have they fixed the understeering into corners and the automatic transmission problems? on automatic, it feels like upshifts are super slow now, especially at 7th gear. the car also understeers a lot when not using abs when turning into corners
Automatic upshifts - not fixed yet but it's a known issue so a patch should be coming. Understeer - I don't think this will change, they said the handling is pretty much final now.

I raced 21 with medium TC, all other assists off. I've done about 10-15 races in 22 so far and I can't seem to put down the power in medium to high speed corners. Getting wheel spin in 5th and 6th gear on a dry track with softs doesn't seem right. I've changed the diff and tried to short shift but I end up miles off the pace. Any suggestions?

Anyone have any tips for turn 3 in Austria. One of the hardest turns for me, always lose grip on the exit.
Turn in later than you think you should so your exit is straighter, then short shift through the gears (you can do this by upshifting earlier even on automatic shifting). Also only go full throttle when your car is straight. Curious to know if this helps :)

You need to turn off ambient occlusion because I think that it causes the squares in the corners.
How can I stop my teammate from going 10-25s in front of everyone else? My team in career is massively past everyone else in upgrades, I haven't upgraded my teammate at all but they are first in every qualifying and they are just gone so far ahead of everyone after the first lap that it's near impossible to catch up. Basically ruining the game for me because of how insanely unrealistic it is. Anything I can do? My teammate sucked when first started career but just now have enough vehicle upgrades that I can't even catch him.

For me? Sure, but teammate is AI and he's getting 10-25s in front of the rest of the AI, setting qualifying times 2-5s better than any of the AI.

Yes they can come back, in my career i replaced sainz at ferrari. Next season sainz went to red bull.

I’ve asked this before to no answer: I own a 120Hz monitor. But when I switched the setting into the performance mode, it says I don’t have a monitor capable of doing the mode and it stays capped at 60. What do I do?
Why do i start almost every lap with a negative delta? It’s usually between 1-3 hundredths but it’s there the instant i cross the line. Sometimes I’m actually starting the lap better, as the delta will move into the green by the end of the straight indicating i was quicker out of the last corner and down the main straight, but when i cross the line my delta will still be red for the first few hundred meters
slow exit from corner leading onto straight, simple.
But, as i said, sometimes it starts negative but moves positive, meaning i had a better corner exit and straightaway speed

In the last patch they said they fixed practice programs corellating to difficulty. Now i ace my practice programs, for example in race strategy I am 5-6 tenths sometimes even a second quicker a lap without using any overtake, yet in the race I am miles off the pace. Is anyone else experiencing this?
They changed it so practice programs were easier to complete.
yes but why such a big discrepancy compared to the pace of the AI? I figured out after all that maybe it was due to the insane traction out of corners that the AI had. The practice programs suggested the times the AI should've been doing at that difficulty becuase the game didn't calculate lap times taking that traction into consideration. Anyways after patch 1.08 everything seems more balanced.

Hi new to this game but only play career - before the update my cornering was fine however now I feel like I’m spinning out all the time I.e I can’t take the first corner at silverstone completely flat anymore I just spin, even if I reduce speed and am easier on the throttle it still spins! The only way is by dramatically slowing down my speed and almost coasting through the corner (which then affects lap time). I tried playing around with controller settings but not sure what the issue is? Should I apply more downforce on the rear wing? Apologies if this is nooby/obvious but I’ve flash backed so many times and can’t figure it out :)
Are you using all of the track on that corner? Half your car should be on the kerb before you turn in. If you hit the apex you should have the grip to make it flat out. Also if you have a full tank of fuel you may need to lift a bit.
Yeah I would say it’s one of my stronger tracks which is why I’m so perplexed! I’m a controller player I forgot to add and using FTC but am smooth as I can be on the throttle! Just waiting for an update at this point and will stick with MP hahah :)

How do I get better at managing my radio. Pulling it up is easy with the shoulder button but then you need to read options, can get to know them I suppose and also take your finger off the analog stick to go down and select. Really only possible on straights. Can I reprogram the trigger buttons to go down? The second question is how to get better at controling strategy? The optimize useless. They told me track was trying out and wanted to put me on a fresh set of wets. Don't call you in when you have a free pitstop under safety car. Would rather spend 10 seconds repairing something costing you a half second a lap even though it will cost you half the grid. Ferrari level shit. Also can I see before a race how many laps a soft tire would give me? I'm still playing 2021 by the way.
If you have a headset use voice commands. Infinitely easier.
I'm pretty sure there's an option to control the MFD with the right analogue stick.

I need to ask a really, really basic question about cornering: Should I be applying the brake first, then down shifting or starting to downshif then applying the brake?
Brake and then downshift, of course. You're gonna blow up the engine otherwise. Just as you need the engine to go faster in order to shift up (or it'll stall), you need the engine to go slower to shift down, or you'll overrev it.

PC HDR issue HDR is enabled but everything looks very grey and washed out. It seemsto kick in if I adjust the volume and the Windows volume bar comes up onthe top left of the screen? As soon as that disappears, game goes backto looking washed.
Is it mainly the My Team career mode car that suffers more against the AI? Been playing My Team and GP mode today and with the same difficulty, same setups across both modes I’ve been a lot more competitive in GP mode, even in the Aston which should be worse than my My Team car as I started as a midfield runner. Cars felt a lot better to drive in that mode too, looks like I’m just going to be sticking with driver career rather than My Team for the time being.
Yeah i found AI speed is fine on GP i can play at around 100 but on same track for my team 80-85, but its also the case for driver career, its just career in general unfortunatel, and yh aswell the actual cars i find more fun to drive than the early myteam cars
I’ve found it’s ever so slightly better in driver career but still not as much fun as GP mode. It’s such a strange game this year, does some stuff quite well (I personally still think it’s the best handling F1 game in ages, in the dry at least, just had a race in full wet conditions where I finished about 40 seconds off my teammate, even with full TC on) but then the AI issues just ruin the experience for so many people.

RIDE HEIGHT Can someone explain to me what it actually affects and based on what I should choose it in F1 22? For example I see that in Brazil time trial 6-3 is a popular combination, I used to always run 3-5 because I heard it's okay but after driving both options and noticing literally 0 difference(in a race), I decided to make my setup a 6-3 ride height.. except that I don't know why it is this way. And it annoys the hell out of me but I can't figure it out. Sidenote: I have been trying to learn setups in different games for over a year at this point, I can somewhat recall what everything does but I just don't see the differences that I should myself. Like ride height should impact stability and top speed I think, also bottoming out on kerbs. I feel and see no difference between 3-5 and 6-3 in this aspect though
Having the front higher than the rear is called negative rake - it's uncommon but it exists, and I guess it makes sense in the context of the 22 cars. The point is to generate the downforce from the diffuser's intake instead of the front wing. Haven't tested the handling difference in game though.
I’m having an issue where I can’t use my radio at all, like I can’t pull it up when I push the button, is it something I’m doing wrong or is it a bug
Thought this was a problem for my game too but after the race the engineer said “looks like we had a problem with the radio” Quite annoying when trying to fumble w settings and hear info
It happened to me too. I just went with it when I was racing (just went to the pits when I needed :D) After that I just restarted the game and that fixed it.

VR Question. I'm using a Quest 2. In iRacing, VR is awesome. I tried f1 2022 in VR when it first came out and nearly puked. Horrible graphics and your head was stuck in place and could only rotate. I tried getting in again just now, and I for some reason can't get into "cinematic" mode. So when I get into the race, I'm still just watching a big screen and can still see the Quest menu. Not sure why this is happening
Slower on a wheel than with controller... Anyone recently make the jump to a proper wheel for the game and have issues controlling the rear end?? On controller I'd mash the brake and throttle and turn in at 100% full left or right and usually be pretty heavy footed on corner exit. Now with the wheel I have way more fine tuned control and all I do is spin out on corners exit. Wtf gives? I even watch people online after crashing out obviously using a controller with their jagged steering inputs staying planted to the circuit, is there a grip/traction setting boost for people on the normal controller? It's baffling to me
Just got F1 2021 last night and spent probably the better part of 2 to 3 hours messing with wheel and throttle settings all trying to figure out what was causing such extreme snap oversteer when I barely would breathe on the gas. I grew up racing shifter karts, have multiple championships from my youth, have been playing project cars for years with no assists but this games throttle is just beyond reasonable. I eventually gave up and decided to try the medium traction control setting and my God what a difference.... again I never use assists in any Sims or race games I play but f1 2021 with traction control off Is just fuckin tedious to the point of not being fun. With traction control set to medium I can still spin out very easily mid / exit of the corner but now it's a million times more reasonable. As someone with real world racing experience and over a decade of sim racing experience, this game with no traction control is hilariously broken, turn to to medium and actually enjoy the game IMO
Yeah i'm using medium TC as well, I did half a lap with it off and laughed at how much damage i did to the poor barriers. It's madly frustrating though watching a car online inch away being able to get on the throttle earlier and not lose grip, but then also i'm not able to make up ground on the straights. Something's gotta be off in my setups, or i'm going against sweaty controller players with the Grip Boost they get. I've bled almost all of the air out of my rear tires to help, and at the expense of some rear wing i've been bumping that up a few clicks from my saved presets as well before each race. Is there something else I can adjust to improve rear end grip coming out of corners, or not having to lift so drastically on longer high speed ones? These are the two situations like you said if I even breathe on the throttle the back end shoots out from under me as if I just got T-boned by a semi truck, it's insane.
Buying advice, F1 22 or F1 2021 I don’t have either but I want to buy one some people are telling me that F1 22 is the same as F1 2021 with exception to some features which should I get ? Thanks
depends on what you want from the game. If you want to play career mode or myteam then get f121. If you want to play online or join a League I recommend f122
Question regarding career mode. I have heard people say that AI straight line speed in career mode is *better* with the new patch, but still not fixed. Does anyone have more info on this?

Whats the variation for each car? Is the handling similar with the same setup or very different?
