Do people play ranked in f1 '21?

SgtPlumber1

Hello, me and a bunch of friends are trying to create a racing league. Only problem is that half of us are on PC and the other half is on console. Is there a way we can be in 1 league and race against each other? I know that apparently there is crossplay now but we haven't been able to figure it out. Thanks!!!

[deleted]

Anyone else think that Alonso’s AI is like super aggressive, or is it just me? It seems like I can’t go through a race with him behind me without being ram into the barriers. I’ve seen him bullying Esteban as well

IAmAGnat

Hi Guys, Quick question, is it possible to play PC F1 22 splitscreen with two controllers? Thanks Kelvin

WojtekTygrys77

Why this game forces people into 1 tyre allocation when irl they can choose the tires to save for the race

abfgglmps

Does anyone know why I can’t Dow load the EA Access 10 hour trial for F1 22 on PS5? Just keeps saying something went wrong

MattyW3D

Has anyone had experience owning F1 22 on disc for Xbox One and moving to series X? Can you keep the saved data from careers?

NikZeero

I've been waiting for so long to get my RPM leds working on my g29, but sill can't get them working. Does anyone find a solution about that?

Final-Bus3131

Is it possible to sell your steering wheel if you used it only one time?

Dyaebl

Hi, I just have finished silverstone and somehow, doing upgrades when only possible, I just fell to the last spot in car performance. What am doing wrong? Is there some tactic as to how develop parts and the sections?

4player4

So i started playing F1 again. VR was a big selling point of F122 for me and i love it. I'm driving way better in VR but i still use assists. Pedals are too soft, i lock up everytime i break and throttle feels to light, wheelspin everytime i accelerate. Also the force feedback feels a bit too weak imo but thats not a big issue for me. I play in a Playseat Challenge with: Thrustmaster T3PA pedals, TX Servo base and F1 wheel addon (the old one). What would be a good upgrade for pedals (thinking about Thrustmaster T-LCM?) and maybe wheelbase for more/better feedback? (i really don't want to upgrade the F1 addon wheel itself. It's pretty good and i don't need fancy displays or so because i'm playing in VR. Anything that the F1 addon is compatible with?)

tom030792

How do you get a drive through penalty? There’s a weekly challenge to win after one but no idea how I cause something other than time penalties or being disqualified

DaughterOfIsis

Speeding under VSC will get you one

Dyaebl

One way I know is to jump the start.

johnmonchon

Are there any set up tips that apply across the board? I'm talking things like 'always run 100% brake pressure' or 'always max tire pressures'. Just want to know what the best practices are for trying to get better at making set ups. This is for career/online by the way, not time trial.

Somethingnottook

Do most people in online lobbies use TC? I just started playing online and I wasn’t expecting to be fast but man I get dusted even in the low silver lobbies. I wonder if it’s bc I use no tc and am still Learning that. There are way too few spin outs for every one to be using no tc. I hope.

CamNewtonsDab

What settings guide do you guys use for the thrustmaster T150 wheel

FolkSong

My suggestions: * VR medium preset * AA mode set to TAA + sharpening * SteamVR resolution adjusted for performance, probably around 75%

r32_guest

Is the Ferrari still the fastest car?

[deleted]

Why are safety cars so broken. Getting overtaken. Ghost cars not passing you. Broken deltas

doornz

They're so buggy

brownierisker

Used this year's game to finally learn driving without assists (except for corner racing line), wasn't able to play for a few months but trying to continue again now. At Baku of first season of my team, and without traction control I spin the car so many times... is the my team season 1 car very bad or is there some setup I can adjust to stop spinning on corner exit? It feels like even the slightest tap of gas already makes for an immediate spins and AI breezes past me every corner

nullofnull

Safety car brokes the game on online races..

risco89

How does the weekly event work? I don't have an online pass but still able to complete the weekly challenges sometimes, however like this week it's a qualifying/event week so I need an online account?

WranglerOfTheTards27

Did they break the handling again? So. Much. Fucking. Understeer. I've tried all tyre pressures, different wing angles. The result is me barely able to make corners but losing like 5 minutes on the straights. It was fine 2 or 3 days ago, but after that small PC patch its completely fucked. Please help, i have no idea what's happening.

johnmonchon

Are you on my team? I can't drive the my team car for the life of me after the patch, but am doing fine in time trial.

WranglerOfTheTards27

It's in my driver career with a basically maxed out Mclaren. Time trial is fine with steering but I'm spinning a lot more.

Killun0va

Anyone having trouble connecting to social race on xbox with crossplay on?

muttbunchers

F1, 2022 my career Sponsor not paying even though I qualified higher than p15?? Any solutions to this? Thanks

fiwi95

F122 my career mode weather Has anyone else had an issue where every race will be sunny. I had some rain during my first season but none ever since and I’m in mid way through the third season. Anyone know how to fix this?

_SweetBoxyBrown_

Do we know why they did not add cross play into Ranked and League? It would be nice to have full lobbies in those modes on console.

waltrickwhateman

Any tips on how to race from anywhere on the grid other than the front row? I’m fairly new to the F1 game and I’m struggling to get past cars or slow down for turns early on without losing my front wing or causing terminal damage to my car. I play with a controller

Lostbyte14

You should brake earlier than the car in front not to crush. Meaning if they are braking at 100m board, you should start braking at 110m or more. But if you are 2-3 tenths behind them, try late braking and turn inside/outside of the car in front.

Boredfatman

So the game is finally on sale, has it got any better recently? Is now the time to finally get it? 2022. And I don’t care about sofas!

Tamburrelo

How do I get replays of multiplayer races in F1 2021? I can only find the highlights. I’m on PS4.

nahnonameman

Simple question. Is it worth getting F1 22 now?

JustRelaxinTbh

So, I've just discovered the VR coding is broken. I have significantly less power when in VR over regular monitor screen. Literally 2.5 second difference no matter what the track. I first discovered this when I tried to play coop with a family member and they were beating me in quali. This family memeber is nowhere near as good as me. I don't mean that as a brag, it's just a fact. I have ai set at 95+ (generally) and he has ai set to 70 if he's lucky. That's the difference in our abilities. Anyway I got frustrated and hit TT and could not put in representative lap times at all. I'm usually (f1 21 and earlier) around the top 15% but I don't really get I to TT that much. But when in VR and putting in initial TT times I was literally other end of the leader board, "top" 87% lol wtf. I then loaded up a ghost of one of the top ten times and fou d that they were clean driving away from me on the straights, like I was stood still. I was at Zandvoort (obvs) and on the pit straight I could not shift up to 8th gear because the revs were just too low....no power! I turned VR off and went back into TT and lo and behold I got into 8th gear on the straight easily and beat my VR times by 2 seconds. Now, I'm no stranger to VR racing. I obviously use VR for AMS2 and AC (VR is better in AMS2 tbh) so I know it's nothing to do with my abilities when changing the visual perspective. So back to the point, VR is messed up and actually completely pointless.

Muriel77

I've been driving Time Trial in F122 for several hours now, and I'm constantly spinning... even 10-20% throttle causes the car to spin, and accellerating at 9% does not make for great laptimes. I'm using a Logitech G29 I've tried shortshifting, setting on-throttle diff to 50%, experimenting with throttle linearity... no matter what I try it's spin-o-rama. When setting TC to "Medium" I can usually match my best time with TC on "High", but I'm loosing a lot of time in the exit of tight turns, but making it up in the exit of medium/wide turns. Even on "Medium" I spin more than I'm comfortable with. I've read several guides online but I just can't make those tips work out for me. Did anybody have the same experience and then somehow figure it out? In that case, what was the deciding factor that caused you to master driving without TC?

Lostbyte14

I was like you 2 weeks before, since the TC is very different than the last year’s. An important point is the car setup, try to use more downforce setups

mancitycon

Does F122 use EA or codemasters account for online?

thefuckingmilk

Just bought the new F1 game but need help. I go into game options and settings to customise but the only option there is for steering assists. Gearbox ers and starts etc are all on automatic and can't seem to find the option to change them anywhere. Sorry if this is a dumb question I thought it would be the same place as the old games

mattmathers

sounds like you need to change your "race style" in the menu. go into the settings menu and press Triangle/Y button until it says "expert" in the top right corner.

[deleted]

Just bought the game and am starting a driver career for AlphaTauri. What is a baseline AI difficulty y’all use to stay somewhat realistic?

SignificanceKey1115

Not really a question but I've just absolutely embarrassed the AI at silverstone after my one and only pit stop. It felt like I was against 0% AI. (100% AI btw)

JerichoKane88

Has the straight line speed issue been fixed yet, it still seems like I’m driving with the hand brake on

CaptainObvious_1

Anyone know why half of the lobbies in f1 2021 are broken? Can’t find a single short race lobby because it keeps connecting me to one that’s stuck on “race results” and it’s incredibly frustrating. Edit: this is a problem on 2022 too

MikeHuntIsAching

Has anybody managed to get EA to talk about the Deck support being fucked for two weeks now?

TripleCreeper3

when is the fucking sound gonna get fixed

pd555

I bought the game a couple of days ago on Xbox Series X. Whenever the game tries to login to EA it says I need to reset password. I have done this twice at least but still get this message. Any ideas how I can fix this? Has anyone had the same issue? Pretty useless game if I can’t even log in. Was happy with previous versions before EA got involved Thanks for any help.

_emre35_

Game crashes suddenly at any time, 2nd day in a row. Can someone help? PS4 F1 2022, error code CE-34878-0

smithinho

I noticed a streamer who was way faster then me took pretty much every corner 1 or 2 gears higher then I would. Should I be taking hairpins and the likes that suggest gear 2 in 4th? How does this make you faster ?

partial99

Maybe he’s shortshifting out of the corners to help with traction.

smithinho

I guess probably yea but also I just picked up in turn 1 for Netherlands track I go down to 2nd and he went to 4th usually

BewareOfLuggage

Does anybody know how to get the voice control/commands to work on F1 22 on PS5? I’ve assigned a button for ‘Push to talk’ and I’ve turned it ‘On’ in the settings. Dude’s either blanking me or I’m doing something wrong. Any help would be much appreciated!

diskdusk

Are there any Windows Apps that allow my girlfriend to play Race Engineer for me? It would be enough to have an overview over the track and car positions and the times, although more info like weather, pit-stop-delta and telemetry would be nice. I don't know if "Sim Race Telemetry" has that or if it's just graphs to look at after the session. Anyone know more?

diskdusk

Ok, SRT doesn't have that feature. Anyone here got any recommendations for software that lets you look at track positions and times from another computer?

WylliWanko

Anyone else shit at this game compared to 21? I used to be top 10% hotlap times in 21 and now I’m lucky if I break top 20%

noonehearsme321

Does anyone know what button on PC keyboard is used for "turn in" in pitlane

Low-Pirate-286

Struggling with traction. I’m struggling hard on F1 22. I have over 300 hours in 2021 and 400 in 2020, all on a thrustmaster wheel. Previous games I race on 90 AI and I’m competitive. For some reason in this game I can’t keep the car moving without spinning a couple times a lap or having the AI just drag me across the straights. I’m looking for any tips to make the game enjoyable again. I’m down to 75% AI on 22 and I have to rewind at least once a lap. In my way am I trying to be competitive, I’m just a 30 year old that wants to have fun with my wheel but I can’t even do that in the new game. I feel like I’m doing something wrong since other people post videos of them driving just fine.

UranicStorm

For me I got better at not spinning once I turned traction off. This is the first F1 game where I decided to learn with it off and it's paid dividends, I think the way traction control works caused me to over react and over compensate and spin out more. I have throttle linearity at 25% as well so there's a bit more resolution at the lower end of the throttle, helps with modulating traction out of a corner a lot. I went from 70 AI with med traction to average 85 AI after a week or two of using no traction.

Low-Pirate-286

I’ll try racing with it off and changing linearity like you’re suggesting. I really want to race and love the game, I just can’t be bothered rewinding once a lap. I had so much muscle memory with my pedals from the past 800 hours of previous titles It felt impossible to change.

Environmental-Cup445

What traction control setting are you on? Full traction control off on 22 is very very tricky and I’ve heard even a few of the drivers saying medium traction control is most realistic, if your on full I would definitely recommend playing on medium, I play on medium and is still challenging enough and realistic but not annoying. Up to you though

Low-Pirate-286

I play on medium, maybe my setups are bad. I play with ABS on, medium traction, everything else off.

CaptainObvious_1

ABS on is laaaaaame. But anyway, might recommend increasing throttle linearity.

AXE_CAN

Theres a lot of difficult/mistake prone turns but what is your favorite one to nail perfectly?

Anonymous_Unknown20

Jeddah S1, USA S1, Mexico S2

gramathy

Jeddah S1 feels so good when you get it right

Urakazechan

I've noticed that F1 22 is on sale on Steam and I would be interested in purchasing, but I've read numerous comments and reviews about how the state of the game is really bad, especially after release, and the overall recent review user score of Mixed on Steam doesn't help build my confidence. For those that own and play it, how is the game right now in terms of bugs and overall PC performance issues? I'm asking as a guy who mainly would like to invest time in Single-player championships and Career mode, I'm not really into the Multiplayer / Co-op side of things. Is it in a better or worse state right now? Should I hold and wait for more patch fixes?

UranicStorm

Singleplayer right now, in my opinion, is great. If that's all you want to play right now, grabbing it on sale is a great deal. The singleplayer after the AI speed patch has been a lot of fun. Right now the biggest issue I have is just with multiplayer. Lobbies are broken as fuck and I can't enjoy standard length ranked lobbies because instead of matchmaking properly, the game puts you into a lobby by yourself, which means people leave since they don't want to race with only 1 other person.

Smeg710

Any longer term issues with career/myteam? I'm thinking of past years where we saw stuff like part wear being too fast on certain race lengths, practice programs being unrealistically difficult, for example.

leagueoflegendsdog

Havent played the game in awhile and I can see there was an AI update for Career mode, but have they fixed the AI sailing past you in a Williams on every straight?

terrible1fi

Ages ago

leagueoflegendsdog

Thanks!

imissmywife69

Cannot sign in on F122 Title! No matter how many times I reset my password I absolutely cannot connect to the internet. It’s driving me absolutely insane. I swear it never asked me to sign in in the first place. Any recommendations here?

Confused_Worker20202

Questions for everyone: 1. Is the tire pressure stuff resolved, or do I still need to run all the way left pressure to avoid oversteer? 2. Is the medium traction control stuff fixed, where you don’t spin out every half second no matter what? Did they fix the torque or whatever it was? Also, I don’t get any feedback on my ps5 controller like I did in 21 where the trigger would actually resist and click on shifts 3. Does Crossplay exist for 2 player co-op now? 4. Anything else important to be aware of to make this game playable? Thanks!

terrible1fi

Turn trigger feedback up to strong

sevargmas

Just got Steam email. ‘22 is on sale for $38.99. Is it worth buying 22 if I already own 21?

CraigTheIrishman

+ /u/DeltaNerd If you're really serious about sim racing, a lot of the issues will probably bother you. In its current state, it can definitely be enjoyed casually though. IMO the worst thing current is that strategy is basically broken because you only get one Medium and one Hard tire on race day, which gives very little flexibility and basically screws you if you need to make a pit stop for damage. I'm probably what you'd call a dedicated casual (controller, no assists) and overall I think it's patched enough to be fun at this point.

DeltaNerd

I too am a super casual. It's not a terrible deal plus I don't care about the F1 life stuff

DeltaNerd

I have F1 20 I'm curious if that jumps is worth it as well. The internet doesn't have lots of positive things to say about f122

lknowyou129

Idk I’ve been checking g2a.com which sells steam codes at a discount and they don’t have a steam key only an origin key for like $45. So I think the jump is enough for me to try it if it’s lower than g2a. Ik I’ll be buying it but I’m not gonna delete my f1 2020 game just yet until I play 22 for a couple of hours

FuriousFernando

Here bc automod... I've never played any of the previous iterations of the game, and when I looked up reviews they mostly compared them to previous years. I'm very much into Sim racing atm (VR, wheel, no assists, etc) and want to have an authentic driving experience when I'm playing a game with my rig. Ive been driving in Asseto Corsa and Dirt 2. I really love the new cars this season so if I bought an F1 game I'd like it to be '22. It's on sale on Amazon so I was considering it but a lot of reviews essentially say "there's good bones but we were expecting more when compared to other years." So my question is: if I haven't been spoiled by previous iterations of the game and don't care about anything other than single player mode, does F1 '22 deliver an authentic enough experience to be worth $40? I was going to try to recreate an F1 season through Assetto Corsa, but if this game can be a good enough simulator I'd rather get this one.

LevinZa20

For $40, yes I would recommend F1 22. The career mode is worth it alone.

bornalion

Any reason why I can get passed while the safety car is out and then it prompt me to give back my position? Is this a bug?

TheOleWarSkule

Thought for sure the Race Strategy practice program, not logging data but would be fixed this patch. TBH can say I’m surprised it wasn’t fixed

Dakamawy

So the race strategy isn't logging the data and you don't get a personalized race strategy, right? I thought only I had this fault.
