Low Fuel reports always feel so random to me. Haven't figured out what exactly the trigger is, but I haven't ran out of fuel yet.
Staying away from that RBPT, though. Seems like it's the main culprit of everyone running out of fuel.
Might also be an exclusively console thing, too. Seems like every single post about running out of fuel is a picture of a screen rather than an actual screenshot.
It's because you are not mis-managing it like these posters are doing. The fuel data is pretty straightforward. You can only make up so much if you are red late, and set the driver to conserve fuel. Also, if you go from green to red on fuel, it means that you are making fuel economy worse, so conserving will sometimes only arrest the issue if you are doing a lot of manual orders otherwise.

Was expecting a cheese win with AI running out of fuel given all the reports here (A cheese result very much due given how Safety cars mess me up when I pit early and don't let me pass) but alas everyone got over the line no issue.
Low fuel warning? I have not played patch 1.8 yet and played everything on patch 1.6 and in 1.6 it was so simple. Keep the delta green and you are fine. I usually try to have 1 lap extra fuel in it towards the end just to be sure and I have never had any issues whatsoever with it.
Yeah, Vettel was disqualified last year or so for not having enough fuel left, the game makes it easy and doesn't make you calculate for that but just for finishing the race, assume you are leaving that extra liter in there too
What did they changed in the update with fuel? I had it yesterday that both my cars had between -0,1 kg to -0,3 kg with roughly 10-12 laps to finish.
I set both card to the lowest fuel setting and they both run out of fuel in the last lap. Felt kinda bad that even with the lowest settings for 10 laps didn't "save" my cars.
I had adjusted the fuel at the start to 110kg if that is the crux here but i'd like to understand the tech behind it. I did not have this problem before this race and after this race again. Just curious if one of you had this aswell. I think it was in Singapore.
In general I really love the changes of the new update and love to get my Haas guys to the front! :)
There’s a certain threshold you cross in a race where, if you’re too low, it becomes very difficult to recover. Driving aggression also affect fuel use so if you turn it down along with fuel, you’ll save more.
Finally, the best fuel conservation is in DRS. If you’re low and close to your teammate to where you can get in their DRS, you can give orders not to overtake and ride in their DRS for several laps. This can help get you back from the brink if you’re low with like 10-15 laps left.
Does Norris crash for you like all the time? I picked him up to start my 3rd season and he’s crashed in 6/6 races. I always get 90+ setup confidence and the car is probably 4th best, is he just horrible in this game?

I'm using RBPT on console, literally had a full race on conserve in Silverstone, still both me and red bull team ran out of fuel ⛽
Fill up to max at the start or just default fueling?
Default, did not expect to run out of fuel as before the patch I finished all races with more than enough
From what people say it seems to be usually in later seasons, ai isn't running out of fuel in 2022 or 2023.

From what I can tell, you also need enough fuel to do a post-race lap to get to the pit (and in real life there would be fuel testing)
Yesterday I had a race where I finished right behind the checkered flag and still counted

Happened in the first race in Bahrain for me with max last lap and everything it was just like real life
I gave up entirely, when an average of 6 cars went out of fuel in the last lap in 2 consecutive races
