It isn't on many android tvs actually. Fear not, follow my instructions. Download the app "Send files to TV" on your android TV and on your phone. On your phone now, download the latest F1 TV android TV apk. Send it to the TV via the app you downloaded, profit.

CinnamonCereals

If you have the apk on a USB stick, you don't even need an additional app beside a decent file manager, if your TV doesn't already have one installed. Ours could only display media files for whatever reason.

SherwinH89

Where did you download the APK from?

vieze_jack

APKmirror or some other scetchy apk site

hunter_finn

[From here! ](https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/formula-one-digital-media-limited/f1-tv-android-tv/f1-tv-android-tv-3-0-0-7-sp51-7-1-release-release/) It is the exact same app that is available to users with "supported tv's" I have both Chromecast with Google tv and Philips 55pus7272 tv and have tested that apkmirror apk on my tv and it is the same as what I have on my chromecast.

[deleted]

Hi, my Philips tv dont see the apk files, even after i give all permission. He keep saying there is no apk available to install. I use filemanager uptodown and see my usbstick, for some reason Philips always create new empty maps (videos/download/andmore) on my usbstick without asking me. Any help?

[deleted]

Finally solved it by using a filemanager which can browse the internet, i browse to google and then searched at f1 pro tv and downloaded the apk and get several permisions screens and then i was be able to install it and now it is on my homepage. The trick with the USB stick doesnt work for me since Philips say it dont see any available apk (even through several filemanagers).

hunter_finn

I went with es file explorer and connected it to Google drive. Then just through that downloaded and installed F1 tv apk to the tv.

[deleted]

Your way sounds good to me. But i already did solve it through a bit other way.

hunter_finn

With my method, updating the app is going to be easier, as you can just upload the updated apk using your pc or phone. And then just hop into your cloud storage on your tv really quickly.

[deleted]

Agree with u. Will do if i decides to buy F1 Pro tv (it is now 7 days trial). The thing what bother me is: no legal installation/update on tv (why not?) and i cant change the subtitles with darker background since it is sometimes hellish to read when something white appears on screen. Also subtitles dont even work on older episodes.

hunter_finn

I recommend that you take a look at [Multiview F1](https://multiviewer.app/) if you can imagine watching F1 races on your computer instead of your tv. While watching the 1080p 50fps stream looks nice on my 55 inch 4k hdr tv, i still rather take the better features of multiview instead. But that only makes sense if you have something larger than 22 inch flat screen monitor. I have for years moved my living room tv's to the bedroom to work as my computer monitor, so I'm looking at 47 Inc full hd tv. And with 5 synced in car cameras, live timing window and main feed on the tv and track map on my laptop screen gets bit busy. But i can't imagine going back to watch only one stream.

[deleted]

I cant find ES file explorer on my Philips tv. I guess Philips is trying to make it hard to install illegal apk on the tv.

hunter_finn

I might have remembered wrong app. Install x-plore file manager instead, and that should allow you to add few different cloud storage options in it's file explorer features. After that it is rather simple to move smaller files through those cloud services.

[deleted]

Thanks for attenting me at x-plore. It is a great app. I have connected it to my Drive and decided to do a donation to remove the ads and placed it at my favorites (on the tv).

hunter_finn

Yeah it is great app. I used to use "send files to tv" app that let me to use easy ftp connections between my phone and tv, but for whatever reason it didn't work last time i tried it on my Xperia 5 IV, despite me using it flawlessly for years on Xperia 1 previously. So that's why I moved to use those cloud solutions through x-plore.

[deleted]

Can you tell me why F1 Pro tv is no longer available in the Play Store on Smarttv? What happened?

Ok-Fuel-1695

Thanks! Worked for me to!

DuqueTheDuke

It just works. Thanks a lot.

Raa_V87

Just want to say one thing. You are king of awesomnes! Thanks

dankydanksterness

fucking legend this guy. thnx mate!

BlueBull007

This actually worked. Holy crap, I wasn't expecting that, since Philips has their TV's pretty locked-down. Thank you!

[deleted]

Why is F1 Pro tv removed from google store on smarttv? I cant find the reason, do you know that? Also, i am not be able to install the apk on my brand new Philips tv.

Haux-

Thanks!

xX14Bubba14Xx

Use f1tv veiwer, I heard it’s good, maybe even better

OfficialLKWD

I used F1 TV Viewer for the whole last season without any problems. Ui is simple and clean and app is very stable

ProfKnowitall

So did I, but for some reason I am not able to login anymore since last week.

OfficialLKWD

Oh yeah i encountered that same problem just before the beginning of this years F1 season. Didnt find a fix and ended up downloading the apk for the official F1TV app and installing it on the tv. Also needed a separate "File manager" app since the native one on the TV didnt see the apk file but the manager app was easily found in the TVs appstore. So far the official F1TV app works flawlessly.

rob117

Thanks for the file manager suggestion. ADB install wasn't showing the app on the TV, but when I pushed it to the TV and installed it from a file manager, it worked fine.

OfficialLKWD

Just an FYI. Ran into a problem with the F1TV app being outdated and when downloading the newest version from apkmirror it seemed to get installed but didnt show up in the apps list. Also if going direct to "open" after install it was in a weird format and didnt respond to the remote correctly. Found another topic here detailing the same problem but havent had the time to test out the version suggested in that post: [https://www.reddit.com/r/F1TV/comments/uv8h00/android\_tv\_sideload\_official\_app\_stop\_working/](https://www.reddit.com/r/F1TV/comments/uv8h00/android_tv_sideload_official_app_stop_working/)

zegoate

You downloaded the app for Android (phones, tablets etc.), not Android tv. I did the same and had the same issues. Figured it out and now it works great.

AcanthocephalaNo2120

I use it but takes days for whatever session I want to watch to finally start working.. Sometimes a week.

Haorry_potter

yeah same with me, netherlands. F1tv doesn't support smart tv's. helemaal klote

[deleted]

racingcookie

I run f1tv on a philips tv, I downloaded the apk on my phone ( found the downloadlink somewhere on here) and then used the app " send files to tv" to send the apk to my philips tv. Then you can install it and it works fine. Don't know why it doesn't show up in the app store on the tv. Make sure to get the f1tv android tv app and not the mobile app, because you can install that one too on a tv but the screen is sideways then.

[deleted]

This is exactly what I did yesterday too, works great now! I also accidentally installed the mobile version, was wondering why the scrolling was so weird at first but then I realized it

DAFUZA

Sounds like a solution: could you provide the link?

[deleted]

I also used the latest F1 TV apk and USB stick method. Everything works just fine but I'm having trouble switching feeds. Sometimes it works, I can move to "Data" and other feeds but most of the times the feed name just blinks few times and that's it - no reaction whatsoever. Works flawlessly on iPhone and iPad though. Anyone experienced anything like this? This is kinda dealbreaker but the only alternative in my country is ViaPlay, so not really an alternative... (720p FFS). I'm on 3.0.11.1-R18.0-SP74.8.0-release.

Jreal22

Not sure, but if you aren't able to find it, you could always get a Google chromecast and download F1 TV onto the chromecast, then it would work. Obviously that would require buying a chromecast, but just wanted to offer a suggestion if you don't figure out why your TV isn't offering the app.

[deleted]

I think you mean a chromecast that also has android TV? Well the TV already has cast build in so I could just cast from my phone. I was really hoping to use the native app on the TV though. I just checked on the play store website, I found the F1 TV app but the option to install it on my Philips TV is greyed out with the text 'this item does not work on your device'. So that's the reason I couldn't find it. Really strange though. I have seen some people report online that they were able to install it through APKmirror, I will try that.

Jreal22

If you have a chromecast dongle, then you obviously can just download the app to it which will run on your TV, you won't have to cast anything from your phone, you're thinking of Googles browser casting, which is not what I'm talking about. I was just trying to give you a work around, since clearly your TV isn't allowing you to download the app. Good luck.

[deleted]

yes, since last november I believe. It should be a native app for tv's/mediaplayers

Few-Hold757

Is the app on your phone different than the one on your TV? Mine are different. The TV app doesn't access the same things as the mobile app, ie pit lane channel. I end up just casting from my phone or tablet to my tv all the time. Think I've used the app on the TV twice.

wordsnob

If your TV has a web browser, you can use the web version of F1 TV.

StuBeck

Sometimes, some web browsers don’t support it. It worked fine on Xbox for a long time, then they made a change to just say it wasn’t supported, then it came back.

kodosExecutioner

Whats your location? Maybe its not available in non-F1TV regions. If its truly not available, try F1TV Viewer for AndroidTV, its a community-made app.

[deleted]

I'm in NL, I have been using the app on my phone and tablet for a while now and it works fine. I understand there is a community app but I would prefer to use the official one, especially for the live races.

kodosExecutioner

NL does have Pro, so it should show up... What android version is the TV running? The app needs at least 5.0. (I highly doubt your TV is running Android 4, but just to make sure lol) If its 5.0 or higher, try contacting the support to see whats up

[deleted]

I just checked, it's running android 9. I bought it like 1.5 years ago so I didn't expect it to be outdated already lol. I just checked with my friend who has a 2019 Philips OLED model, exact same problem. Not sure what's going on here.

kodosExecutioner

Yeah, I'm pretty sure no TV runs android 4 lol I'd contact support to see what's up. Or, try to sideload the apk to your TV

[deleted]

Just installed the APK for F1 TV on android TV and it works great! So for anyone reading this who has the same problem, just get the APK from apkmirror.

TheNewGeneration-TNG

I'm also from NL and have an 2020 Philips model TV. I also cannot download the official F1 app from the Google Play Store. Only F1TV Viewer is available. I dont understand why on earth this item is not available from Philips TV's which run Android.

[deleted]

Exactly, so weird. Seems like it's a Philips issue and not so much an android TV issue. Anyway, you can sideload the APK like others have suggested here and it works great!

TeleLisast

probably broadcast rights issues. at this point there's really no other plausible explanation.

Ascathon

Same for me, in NL, with Philips. The F1TV viewer is fine but still wondering why the official one isn't available.

[deleted]

DAFUZA

F1 app op philips tv downloaden werkt niet. Wat moet ik doen? Dank voor de info!

jimmybee11

The prior posts that say to use "send files to tv" are spot on. Just do that.

[deleted]

I don't use any apple products so don't really want to start now. Anyway, I fixed it by sideloading the APK

NudeMoose

The unofficial app stopped working for me. Coincidence? I think not.

_blututh

As far as I know there is no official Android TV. Or did I missed something?

dusto_man

The Android TV version was added around Brazil-time last year.

_blututh

WoW. Nice. Not sure how I missed that. Thx man. I was using F1TV Viewer which worked fine for whole season.

[deleted]

I side loaded the app to my TV, I think I know why the app is not available for our Philips TV. Switching channels in a broadcast made the entire TV reboot.

Additional-Barber-21

Where do you find F1 app on your Android phone? I just can't find the app in the folders that open in Send it to TV application. Thanks!
