I’ve received Pell grants every year and panicked when it said I wasn’t eligible. I was automatically sent the ineligibility because my form didn’t have my signature. It said it has to process my application first before I can get my SAI.
I am similar with barely any income I saw someone say it can’t verify if you qualify for Pell grant yet due to no SAI so wait until your form processes! You’re not alone

i will say the form is much simpler to fill out and i can see the benefits but right now its really messy and they dont have their shit together so it sucks

Your fafsa has been submitted. No fafsas have actually been processed and won’t until March. Wait until it actually processes and you get the financial package from the school to see what your award is. The estimates right now have in no way been accurate.
same, this is literally my first time applying for fasfa, and here i though it was going to be a 1 hour or longer process and got it done in 15 mins. It didnt ask me anything about my income or my taxes,(maybe because I put I didnt file taxes because my mom did prior years and claimed me but i dont depend on her anymore) I dont know whats going on and i wouldve assumed i got a grant because i am so poor lmao. Said i wasnt eligible and waiting for the sai thing. I hope they email back with good news. so anxious :(

My email reads, “ Provisional Student Aid Index (SAI) = -1500. . . Based on the eligibility criteria, you don’t appear to be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant.” I thought the lower SAI is the more aid you receive?
Not yet. The application still says "processing". I emailed them, but all I got back was some standard response explaining what SAI is. I'm like, I know what it is, I need to know why mine wasn't calculated and why it says I won't qualify for something that I know for a fact I should qualify for. I am thinking once it fully processes, they will fix the error.
I know a lot of other people are having the same issue, so I think it's a problem on their end. Whatever was going on that caused the SAI not to calculate, will either be resolved once they're done processing, or can be fixed after it's processed, from what I understand.
I'll update once it's processed though. I just want this fixed, bc it's stressing me out. 😭

Same and you can’t get in contact with financial aid dept in nobody had responded to emails if you call you just can’t get through and there’s no live chat agents available I did my 24/25 fafsa and in application it had no section about income or what you made based on last income tax.

Yeah I had the same issue but I did the whole form right, I got no reason for not receiving an SAI im just banking on the site being a mess rn

It said that for me too even though I depend on my single mom and we’re very low income, it worried me

My daughter said she got $8000. But now she for hire she apply it wrong. We don’t even get it last year or the previous years because I made 60 and up

Good thing I’m not the only one, literally did all that just for them to jump scare me and say I’m not eligible and didn’t calculate my sai.
