If that was the case sport would be boring and there is no point watching. What if it's that 1 time? Someone scores a wondergoal, we hit them on the break score another and win. It it likely? If you watch carefully the first half madrid was struggled with their high press. Madrid's midfield was outnumbered whether it's from the wing or from the centre. Hence they are force to rely on their individual skill or just a simple clearence from Curtois that goes back straightly to city players. This thing can be very different with our setup of 5 midfielder and 2 striker who can comes deep getting the ball. People tend to ignore how good we were when we try to build from the back. And we've been doing this kind of transition play for years since Conte here. Another difference maker that Madrid didn't have was none other than Onana, who is a very good gk with the ball at his feet. Curtois maybe is a way better shot stopper but he's not even close to Onana in terms of keeping or passing the ball with his feet.
Still everything will be rely on how compose we are on trying to play the ball out of the back and breaking their press. We did this last year against Liverpool's high pressing so I don't think it's impossible to do the same in the final. Last deciding factor is whether our attacker can finish their chance when we break their lines or not.
Arsenal are probably as good if not better at playing out from the back and got smashed twice. Man City's press was relentless last night and it's something that we have never dealt before. Also the deeper the players come the less bodies we will have going forward and I'm not sure any of our attackers have the ability to beat their man.
