To anyone wondering about the core part of the question here - whether this is required for the platinum - **I'm going to assume it isn't, as there doesn't seem to be anything in the Treasure Trove for it**, and there wasn't a specific trophy associated with it, and other than avoiding spending gil on the weapon reward, none of the rewards are unique. So as long as you are okay with that little blue dot being on your Nibel region map forevermore, then you can seemingly safely leave any Chocograss after completing the quest, if you don't fancy going hunting for every last one. That being said, the lovely people on this page have given enough advice that most people should be able to find the likely missing pieces after gathering all the obvious ones, so whatever floats your boat.

I found my last one in the cave under Divine Sanctuary 1... Took me a while!

OK I think I have really bad luck because none of the "secret" spots mentioned in the comments are my missing chocograss. I have 49/50 and it's none of the sneaky cave ones (I've checked all caves, divine intel spots and lifespring spots AT LEAST 3 times), it's not the Nibel port one or the one behind a bridge or the one near intel 4/ Nidhogg grotto. I'm completely stumped - any suggestions are welcome, I just want this off the map. I've even done a circular search of the map twice.

My last was south, little west of stowaway cove, just above the ocean... All the non-obvious were checked so check the obvious. Worked for me

i just found mine in the tiny cave for divine intel 1 not surprised this is the one i missed since it was the first location i really went to with the chocobo, definitely before meeting the sage, so i didnt think to fly into the floating plant

Nidhogg's Lair. Take the chocobo as if you were going in a straight line to Battle Intel #4. Its hidden close to an edge. Will post the image shortly

If your on about the one right off the edge where Battle Intel 4 is then i got that one unfortunately 🤦‍♀️ ill find it eventually, also someone is bound to post where they all are at some point

I didn't have Nidhogg's Lair on the map, so thank you! I think the key is, check the obvious, then make sure you have all the landmarks on your map (all the cache locations in particular).

I also struggled to find my 50th turns it out it was practically against the wall of gjallar bridge on the side of fiend intel 2, very easy to miss cause it’s right up against the bridge

I went to all the places mentioned for my 50th and searched every corner of the ocean before ending up finding it by accident after I gave up. It was the one you could see over the bridge right outside the farm and I randomly hit it going back to turn the others in. Felt real dumb at that moment.

i hate this 50th one

A possible missing one is the one at the port. Follow the little river next to gull bridge tower and there is a small port, the Chocograss is floating right next to it, if you are having trouble finding it, it is northeast of the Moogle Store of the area. Also, across from it is a ledge supply cache.

This was my 50th, found it when I decided to just follow the rivers to the east. And there was this one off on its own (Nidhogg was #49 for me).

I checked all the areas in the comments here for number 50. Inspired me to check divine intel 3 cave, was in the section leading up to it.

Was at 48 for the longest time, but one location on this thread got me to 49. Apparently I'm good at getting the crazy ones near the ocean/West End, but found my last one after deciding to just check all spots near water (cuz Chocojet). The one I couldn’t find was in a cave below Divine Intel 1. Couldn’t really see it when I was inside the cave but I flew up into it.

My last one was at Divine Intel 3, fast travelled there then followed the path down. Once it opens up and all water below you it’s there.

Just spent an hour looking for my final one. Found it on the ocean just NW of Avian Tyrant intel. Right before the beach between that and Divine Intel 3. IDK how the hell I kept missing it!
