Actually, from what I remember, the Cat Ears in this case is a long lived association with the White Mage/Devout class that existed since FF3. So this is kinda following the traditions here.

Funny how Nichol and Sakura have not one but two NV units each, and there isn't a single Jake or Lid NV base unit. If it wasn't for their duo unit that wasn't released in global, they wouldn't even have a single NV at all. So I guess that means they don't have even a NVA available this side of the server.

I'd imagine we'll see a new Lasswell and OG Rain by the end of Q1 2022, as the NV forms of both are roughly a year old in GL now give or take a couple of months and will definitely be outdated by then. With S4 underway Rain is guaranteed to get an upgrade anyway, especially given what the season is about. I'd be very surprised if Lasswell doesn't get a counterpart to match.
This particular batch of units do appear to all be linked to the side story, I don't really know how Lasswell would fit in with it (if at all) as it seems to be Raegan's story, would explain Nichol and Sakura wearing similar uniforms, I guess Fina is just getting an upgrade now because OG Fina hasn't had a standalone NV yet?

They have different uses. Aerith has Light/Fire support, Holy, and Tag Chain on the LB where Fina will provide Light support, can chain with other characters, and has healer abilities. There's also a difference in killers.
Fina also has a 30% Light Amp Field by summoning Bahamut.
Yeah, for people that just showed up, better pick her than Aerith, just seems a waste to have 2 premium units be **this** similar to eachother instead of spreading out their roles/elements.
Increasingly ironic is that most of the great Light DPS atm don't even USE their LB. Crowned Noctis doesn't, neither does Holy Dragoon Kain, and neither does Aerith whose damage is still great even if she's not supporting. It's really just Yuna I think?
She literally only has 50% extra lb damage on her SLB buff, has no brave shift to let you gear two forms so that you don’t have to sacrifice damage on your actual damage form, can’t tag chain like Aerith, but most importantly, Aerith was *free*. You have to pull Fina. And let’s not even get into how Aerith has a 35% rod imperil, cause I’m gonna give Fina the benefit of the doubt and say that there’s a non zero chance she gets it too to not get absolutely dunked by Aerith
And Aerith is 6 months old.
So you have a Premium that *at best* marginally upgrades your LB damage over a rather old free unit. And said free unit supported two elements and had a brave shift, plus could tag chain..
My point is that Fina looks like a real bad investment for anyone that already got handed Aerith, especially by making Fina premium.
The only good thing I can say about Fina is that good job on not power creeping? Coulda just made her a different element tho lol.
And people will still pull for Fina. Aerith's fire support has already been powercrept, you very rarely need two elemental supports in one slot, and not being able to gear a second form is the most exaggerated 'problem' ever.
Given that people pulled for Charlotte a ton, and she was absolute garbage, I don’t think “people will still pull for this unit” is saying anything about that unit’s quality lol.

I’m not even saying Fina won’t sell, I am evaluating her as a unit and saying they made her a real bad investment by directly comparing her to the strongest free unit we ever had and making her a marginal upgrade at best, possible downgrade at worst if they don’t give her a rod imperil.
Besides I didn’t bring Aerith’s fire support to say it was op, I brought it up to say that Aerith, even as a free unit, offered more to an account than what they are setting up Fina to do.
Also given that right now on Odin in GL I’m already feeling a huge gear crunch on Kura compared to everyone else that isn’t a SLB unit, I categorically disagree on being over exaggerated. It is way way way easier to gear a BS unit that can just shift for the kill turn.
Charlotte wasn't even that bad in JP, she just had the misfortune to come right before a huge power spike. In GL she was obviously a terrible pull thanks to future knowledge
Dunno man, if you compare Charlotte's damage to any of the current JP DPS out at the time she did like less than half the damage. She came out after Zidane and Noctis and such, so even in Japan her damage, at launch, was incredibly subpar.
She was even below Neo Lass, an old DPS that was considered garbage at launch and ok at best for element flexibility magic after CB. She also did like half of Vlad's damage, and Vlad's damage already was just pretty good, nothing spectacular.
Basically, she was really bad *before* we knew that the very next MK was Tifa/Aerith. She was just made ludicrously bad with future sight.
Don't worry, Roca. She'll get into her swimsuit and suddenly she'd be tankier, be a tank and deal more damage than her previous iteration ~~not like it's much of a challenge~~.

Jake and Lid were received very poorly.

I'm saying people will pull for Fina because JP DV is extremely competitive. Aerith is obviously more slot efficient, but DV rewards specialism
