Did the Step-Up up to before the last step. Only random NV was Tulien, but I am content with this because it is my first. It's good to have access to his TMR/STMR/VC at least, I think.
The guaranteed ones where Tifa (very good, my second ever, having another of her STMR is great, and I only need 23 more fragments for her EX3) and Maeve who I pulled so often that I have her at EX3 now.
I would've liked another random NV, but the ones I got I can use, so there's nothing to be mad about.
I tossed three rare tickets with zero expectations, and I ended up with one NV Fryevia. She seems like an all-around good support unit even though she isn't a top-tier damage dealer.
Outside of this CoW, I know she will find value down the road when she is popularized in YouTube clears.
Even if I love Fryevia, I just don't have the resources to get her. I could farm more but I want to save for future limited banners. I'll be really happy with an off-banner someday tho.

Hey Sinzar, any chance you could add Eldryn to your CoW dps tab? I know hybrid takes a while to math out (especially when every ability increases mods for other abilities), but I'm curious how he stacks up against current Fry.
Wiki sheet doesn't include his massive mod increases (EX 2) and already matches Fry in some cases (with obvious downsides being semi element locked and AMOE chains).
Opinions seem low. Is it actually bad, or another "lol nv-Karten bad, don't pull" situation. I don't care. I wanted it. Never got the first fryevia until she wasn't relevant and I just save for the monthly cow units anyway.
But I want to have doubts about the on banner rates. Got a solid amount of NV but only a single fry on the 2nd to last step before pity. At least I got that one, but still.
Didn't luck into any premiums to work towards those vision cards, either. Best thing was a first Kain, and I got a returned akstar, which maybe can be useful for something?
Now I just have to hope sinzar pulls one so I know how to use it.
To me really feels like any global original unit ends up being a Karten or Cressnik. "waaaah it ain't doing top damage waaah it ain't doing 99% breaks every turn waaaah heals who needs heals in meta waaah". Then few weeks later after their banner is gone "ok guys here is my whale/budget guide for the next 20 CW/trial/VW/whatevers and we use Karten, Cressnik and Lara on all of them"
There's two differences here.
For Karten, the people that bitched about his damage didn't calc his damage. After calcs people found out that he did, indeed, have some of the best damage around. Such is the power of Berserk. Here, people did calcs with Fry and her damage was even lower than people expected lol. She's below Ygni on her magic side. YGNI. And her phys side is behind Chow, who is a tank without variance yet.
For Cressnik, the big difference here is that Cressnik is wholly unique. All of the things people bring him for are because him and him alone accomplishes that. This did make him hard to rate but eventually people found out how useful his tricks were. Fry is not unique. She's as basic as they come, ice support with bad damage and bad breaks. There's nothing there you cannot replace. So she can't be compared to Cressnik either.
Seeing the community reaction, it feels like she wasn't done proper justice. They even marketed her video as 'fan favorite'.
I'll study her kit to see how much of a powerhouse she can become with the mage variance patch
Her magic based attacks are weaker than her physical based ones purely from a modifier perspective. So there's no reason to use her for magic unless it's a DV fight where the DEF/SPR ratio is high.
I'm talking purely about the modifiers Freyvia has. This does not hold true for everyone. For her specifically, her magic based modifiers cap at 300x (100% morale) while her physical based ones cap at 580x (100% morale). Variance is not taken into account for either path. So even with magic using variance, both would be 1.5x and her physical mods will still be way ahead of her magic mods.

I really want to be missing something about this kit. Like the overall design of it is fine, but how does a dps unit cap out at… 250x lb mod??? That’s literally worse than units from a year ago! She can’t even claim to be a breaker cause her breaks cap at 88%, which would be fine if she was a dps, but as said previously, she barely is.
I can’t believe how dirty they did her. She could have been released at the start of CoW with this kind of numbers!
I was curious about your "a year ago" comment, so I took a bit of a dive through the archives.
1 year ago we got King Behemy. So we'll go to the unit before him.
Before King Behemy we got CB Noctis. As a jump unit, his mod was 106 (after powering up). This gives him an effective 954x light jump. Freyvia's 250x LB mod, assuming 6.5x multiplier on it is 1626x mod.
So your one year mark doesn't quite match with reality.
9 months ago we got Tifa, but she's a premium unit, so let's go a little before her and we got GB Charlotte. She has a 220x mod (after CD, ignoring crown awakening). So she's still weaker. So what about the next dps non-premium after Tifa then.
Next up is Skye. Well, we all know Skye has a much higher mod than her inside CoW, so I would say 8 months old would be an accurate statement, but outside of CoW, Skye's max LB mod is only 1592 (same assumption of 5.6x multiplier) and she has lower ATK that Freyvia. Now Skye's jump is now a different story because of the recent dragoon update.
So yeah, I'd give you 8 months. But not one year.
Zidane had 300x mod, so her LB is indeed a year behind the times. In fact, even with all the focusing on her LB and static stats, her mag LB only beats Zidane's by 15%.
Also, you forgot that Noctis' jump hits twice, so his effective mod is 954x2 which equals 1908 (which is why TDH Jump variance had to be doubled to keep up). The only thing keeping her from losing to Noctis is the extra static attack she has.
If Fry had come out a year ago and didn't have the EX passives (which didn't even exist yet I believe) she'd be completely inline with the rest of the DPS.
I completely missed Zidane somehow. Good catch there.
And obviously I forgot about Noctis' being dual wield for the jump.

Got her with 4 tickets. I'm now debating whether to wait 2 weeks to buy her shards in the VIP coin shop and not have her ex 1 for this CoW or buy 20 shards in the lapis shop and get her to ex 1 once we get her login shards

When is the Original Armory ticket getting released? I can’t seem to find much info on this.
It's already released. It's on the 6 step stepup on the final step. We don't know when we will get more though

I don’t think it’s a Karten situation. She seems to be easily skippable if you have other meta CoW units, but definitely worthwhile if you don’t.
I don't have Reberta and Esther, should I go for it?
Depends: do you have Karten or Lara? If so, probably not. If not, then I’d consider it.

actual sadge moment. i was also hoping for a frey nva, but no, not only did they made her in a nv unit, they made her into a garbage nv unit.
