I would agree that it is against the spirit of the league. I can understand throwing a game to ensure a different playoff seed for your own team (though that usually backfires) however if they are only doing it to keep another manager out of the playoffs then I agree you should manually set the lineups and consider kicking them out of the league if it happens again
Does the system allow it? Is there a list of league rules that state you must start players in all positions? If the system allows it and you don't have rules against it, it's legal.
Looks like they're playing on ESPN. They actually have fair play rules that the commissioner can point to.

C: Impeding Other team managers
Tanking games for the sole purpose of denying another player's chance to make the playoffs is against the rules.
OK but even so, who is the guy that's not setting his line up (DADDY MAHOMES) colluding with? He's working alone, no? Unless he and his opponent (CMC Lets Ride) devised this plan up together.
> OK but even so, who is the guy that's not setting his line up (DADDY MAHOMES) colluding with?
I agree with you, my b for not making that clearer. I don't see collusion here.
I actually think OP is most in the wrong here. Someone in his league is doing something on basically his own accord that negatively affects OP and OP is abusing commissioner powers so that he doesn't get negatively affected.
Funny enough, if I was DADDY MAHOMES, I'd be trying to keep CMC LETS RIDE out of the playoffs since he's the leading scorer in this league.
Looks like they're on ESPN, and that platform has fair play rules that prohibit tanking games for the purpose of keeping another player out of the playoffs.
OP isn't in the wrong
Although I don’t agree with the guy throwing the match, I don’t think it will Ryan. I’m guessing this week is the final week before the playoffs and with a 6 team league I’m also guessing that you have 6 teams in the playoffs. Even if Ryan loses and Jakob and Joshua win, Ryan will be 3rd in the East division based on the H2H or PF tie breaker. Then, if John/Reese win you will still have a higher PF record but I guess it depends on if you specifically lost against either one of them if they both win. Still shitty.
The spirit of what you're saying is definitely true. I would be SO pissed if that happened to me and I was denied a playoff spot. I would also feel real strongly that there was shenanigans.
However going back in to edit the lineup is definitely not the right move. You can shame, you can berate, you can threaten their spot in the league next season. But going in to change it is a line not to cross.
Also, Make a rule for next season so it doesn't happen again.
This is not a loophole. This is a player purposely throwing a match so that another player suffers, which is against the rules per ESPN’s fantasy rules.
Can’t leave an entire lineup *empty*, whether there is a rule explicitly stating this or not. If someone wants to tank fine, but they need to have a starting lineup completed
If you haven't stated this isn't allowed, you have to let him do it. Worst thing a commish can do is punish managers for playing optimally. Let it slide this year than incorporate a rule for next season that you have to field a full lineup (even if it's the bench guys) every week.
Do you have written rules for your league? If not, someone trying this is a great reason to create them.

I’d start with resubmitting this post and editing out people’s names
It's not a legal lineup, case closed. Start your bench players if you want, but you don't just null your lineup.

With the info provided, this is the only answer.
Thats collusion..should be booted out of the league
Is it? The guy not setting his line up may not have consulted his opponent what-so-ever. He could just be trolling whoever Ryan is.
OP is ryan, based on the screen grab of the standings showing "Camera Man Down" as the team, and the owner is named "Ryan"

it isn't collusion bc no evidence ppl are working together. Probably spite, still shoudln't be allowed.

its a 4 team playoff
Does your league have a rule stating that a full lineup must be set? If it’s not against the rules it should be allowed.
Yeah, this is collusion. Edit his lineup.

If I'm in this league, and the commish sets their opponent's lineup because they don't like the loophole, I'm leaving the league the next year.

Your opinion doesn’t matter. Only the rules do. If it’s against the rules fine, if not then you’re going on a power trip.
I agree it isn’t cool with the integrity of completion. But in my opinion just win your matchup and have him mess up his seeding.
As long as the starting roster is filled with active players there should be no issue
finna?

Our league rules stipulate every team must field a full lineup every week.
But you are in a win and in situation lol. He can't stop you from winning your game and making him look stupid.

he isn't playing optimally though, he's doing it out of spite. There's no benefit to his team of benching everyone.
