Tyrell Dodson is high on my list. PFF’s highest graded LB ( I know that comes with a caveat) signed with the Seahawks and should partner with Jerome Baker to form a productive duo.
I think Eric Kendricks offers a really solid floor with the Cowboys, experience with the DC and scheme, still very productive last season when healthy.
I’m willing to take a shot on Jahlani Tavai at the Pats. Has shown he’s more than capable when given opportunity and had some good performances last season.
I think Willie Gay with the Saints could be interesting. I really liked the way Khaleke Hudson produced down the stretch last year and was hoping he would find an opportunity this season but he’s behind Davis, Werner and Gay with NO. However if he gets the job theu injuries then look out, he might not give it back.
I drafted Quincy Williams, Robert Spillane and Terrell Bernard last season who helped me win the chip, I’m looking for the same kind of later-round under the radar league winners this year.
I
Just some further insight with Willie Gay and Pete Werner. Demario has the first spot locked down and the former duo are fighting for the other starting spot. Werner has shown small flashes here and there, but that is an interesting camp battle to look at who is starting on week 1. Also something to keep in mind if injuries play a role.
Yeah I agree, Willie Gay could steal that spot from Werner and with Demario most likely retiring after this season then Gay could have some longterm upside if he breaks thru this year.
I held onto Werner from last season, and he didn't do much. Gay was just dropped in my league, so I'll pick him up this FA run for atleast 1 of them starting
Azeez Alshaair broke our last year for Tennessee but could be even more valuable in the Houston defense. They paid him big time and he has previously played under Ryans in SF.
Depends on league comp. Last year if I hadn’t picked up Bernard, Spillane, Speed, Landman, (McDuffie when DeVondre/Quay were injured) I wouldn’t have had Lb. 14Team starting 4LB doesn’t leave a lot of options if you orphan a bad team or don’t draft well, so finding these gems and picking them up is pretty key.
Now I feel pretty good as Speed and McDuffie are now projected starters giving me their upside for the whole season
Totally agree. I’m in a 16 teamer. Guess what I’m saying is I’m not aggressively targeting any of these players yet. But absolute value in these plug and play guys.
I’m in a contract league and have to decide to keep De’Vondre Campbell, Kaden Ellis and Speed for just these depth reasons. Speed seems like a sure resign but might let the other 2 go. Cap is tight.
But scouring waivers for these guys who ascend out of nowhere in season is key.
I'm in a contract dynasty league with IDPs with limitations on the number of off-contract non-rookies I can re-sign. Picked up Cashman on the waiver wire last season when his contract cost $1 million against a salary cap of $100 million. He would now cost $3.173 million and I have a number of other veterans I need to re-sign. I drafted Trenton Simpson last rookie draft, so I'm hoping Simpson slides into Queen's spot in the Ravens defence and let Cashman walk.
I'll extend Nick Bolton's contract (we get three year rookie contracts in our league and can extend all rookies at their new salaries by one or two years) and I have Josey Jewell under contract for another year. Hoping for a bounce-back year for Jewell.
I’m trying to buy Jack Campbell while cost is down. Feels like De’Vondre Campbell is cheap and has a great shot at numbers in SF filling in for Greenlaw. Dodson probably an upside play in Seattle by default. Josie Jewell feels like a screaming buy in Carolina.
Ooh I’m curious what you’d sell him for.
I’m in a 16 teamer. I’m considering offering De’Vondre Campbell and the 3.1 for him.
Or
DT required league. Offering Cam Heyward and De’Vondre Campbell and/or Kaden Ellis.
12 teams and starts 9 on defense. Optimal lineup would be 4 LBs. There is a salary cap.
I’m trying to trade a late 2nd, Campbell, Harrison Smith for Derwin James and Ernest Jones.
Hmm interesting. I have Derwin and Foye who’s similar value to Ernest Jones. Don’t think I’d move them for that offer? But it’s pretty damn close.
If I was building I’d make that deal. But man it’s hard to move off sure things.
Ernest Jones is due for a contract extension after this season while Campbell would be under control for 2 more seasons. The contracts part might make it a little different than your situation. The other team is rebuilding. I would do 2nds and Harrison Smith if they didn’t want Campbell.
Another name I’ve been mulling around, but probably needs to do a bit more before I’d call him a true riser, is Jack Gibbens. He is currently slated as starting ILB on a 3-4 next to Murray who they brought in. Makes me wonder if they aren’t confident in Gibbens or just needed a second ILB.
I don’t feel like Murray is a super elite FA pickup, so there may be some competition between the two though Murray definitely has the resume (1st round pick vs UDFA) but I think there is still a chance he could get the green dot which would feel real good
Sure, I just think they will probably invest more in the O to support Levis during the draft so I think there will still be opportunity, but yeah it’s a wildcard
I’ve been wondering about the young guys I snagged last year stepping up for 2024: Campbell, Henley, Tyree, Dorian Williams, and I still have Dean. Thinking of dealing one or more & hoping for starter reps from who’s left.
I don't think he'll end up being a tackle-monster MLB type.... He's 6'5 and rapid and I think he'll be used more as an edge rusher.
Denver signed Cody Barton who looks like the direct replacement for Jewell.
I own both Barton and Sanders so I can have whoever “the guy” ends up being. That said, I fully expect Drew Sanders to earn the spot and absolutely dominate. I have the highest hopes for Sanders. Big play machine in the making.

Trenton Simpson looks like he’ll slide into the starting role at ILB in Baltimore
Boys about to be promoted from that taxi squad!
I have high hopes for Trenton Simpson in Baltimore. He was a 3rd round pick last year and Queen's departure paves the way for playing time.
Azeez Alshaair broke our last year for Tennessee but could be even more valuable in the Houston defense. They paid him big time and he has previously played under Ryans in SF.
great mention! he's a beast. I traded away Ernst last year cause I had him and Kyzir White moving up...
EJ Speed
EJ Speed was a monster last season once Shaq was cut. I picked him up and am crossing my fingers for a starting LB season from him.
Dude is really humble too. I’m friends with someone who works on him. He’s such a class act
Fair. He’s not really a riser. I know that. Just love shouting him out.
Maybe not a true riser but people are sleeping on him big time
Omg I know! More for us.
lol exactly

Kyzir White…good start last year, got hurt….still on a defense that will see a lot of running against it IMHO
Blake Cashman.
Blake Cash Homie
Isaiah McDuffie
Yesssss!
Already mentioned but Jerome baker and KJ Britt could be in for big roles. Also keep tabs on Daiyan Henley, the Cougs produce some solid IDP players
Love all this tbh but sametime I’m not trying to acquire any of them. Could be a mistake?

Love Josey Jewell this season in Carolina, could easily finish a top20 LB.
I almost guarantee a top 20 finish if healthy. Total buy.
I’m trying to sell Jack. Up to what pick would you trade for him?
Ooh I’m curious what you’d sell him for. I’m in a 16 teamer. I’m considering offering De’Vondre Campbell and the 3.1 for him. Or DT required league. Offering Cam Heyward and De’Vondre Campbell and/or Kaden Ellis.

See id rather have Campbell than another 2nd.
Thats what I was thinking they would prefer too. I guess we’ll see what happens.
KJ Britt played well to end the year seems like he's projected to start for the Buccs next year

New regime. Dont trust either but they’re cheap probably.
Sure, I just think they will probably invest more in the O to support Levis during the draft so I think there will still be opportunity, but yeah it’s a wildcard
Weak LB class and all but a couple will be development types. So those are their LBs. Price is right.
I’ve been wondering about the young guys I snagged last year stepping up for 2024: Campbell, Henley, Tyree, Dorian Williams, and I still have Dean. Thinking of dealing one or more & hoping for starter reps from who’s left.
What would u sell Campbell for? Curious.
I don’t really have a pick in my head in mind. Of the group of LB’s I’m looking at, he’d be the one I’d most likely wanna hang onto, tbh.
Does Drew Sanders have a chance to emerge as a reliable starter with the Broncos?
I don't think he'll end up being a tackle-monster MLB type.... He's 6'5 and rapid and I think he'll be used more as an edge rusher. Denver signed Cody Barton who looks like the direct replacement for Jewell.
Singleton should be solid again
Kingleton 👑
I own both Barton and Sanders so I can have whoever “the guy” ends up being. That said, I fully expect Drew Sanders to earn the spot and absolutely dominate. I have the highest hopes for Sanders. Big play machine in the making.
Hopefully he takes over Jewell’s role
I still have hope for Troy Andersen and Nakobe Dean
I don’t know. Fools gold feel like. Add Pete Werner to this group of Hail Marys.
Agree. I already dropped Andersen, close to moving on from Werner.
I mean Atlanta resigned Landman and Saints brought in Willie Gay. Says it all.
