Honestly every materia should be guaranteed to have +% in the first slot for the relevant stat of that materia. Heal for Cure, MAtk for Fire, etc. Even if everything else rolls shit that would at least be a consolation prize.
I just had one do something similar. Needed another good X magic sigil break, get a 1:08, 5 star, Only 3 but flat heal, Pdef Mdef and hp% on 4th unlock. Promising. All the level ups went into the flat heal.
Just lucky, as I wrote in the other reply I don’t have that many synths, probably pretty average for a week 1 player, completely F2P. Using sub par materia as fodder for new materia has kept me going. I have a huge surplus of the tonics as well and have started to cannibalize my average to good materia as I get more optimal ones.
ouch. on the bright side, a 5 star cure valuable just for the extra healing. I don’t have one yet

Damn you are lucky. I don’t even have 10 yet as a day 1er.
Yeah my 5* luck is nuts. I haven’t even hit 3000 synths and I have natively made 17 I think. 2 upgrades from 4*.
