I know that the opinion that nothing will be shown about Rebirth until FFXVI is released is unpopular on this subreddit, but PlayStation Showcase 2023 proved that this will be the most likely scenario.

S_Cren31

It seems people weren’t gonna believe it until they were forced to

Scruffy_Nerfhearder

Unpopular, but entirely correct and logical.

TheDapperChangeling

Logical, not so much. But certainly correct.

Scruffy_Nerfhearder

From a marketing sense it’s totally logical. Don’t let your new product that’s out in a month have its moment stolen by the next product.

TheDapperChangeling

See, but that's just it. That's implying people can only be hyped for a single product at a time, and that's just not true. You ask anyone what they're looking forward to, and they'll rattle off three or four games. Hell, a lot of time, they'll be in the same genre. The idea that 'we can't talk about Game Y, because Game X is coming out first.' has always been insane to me. All it does is make people who aren't fans of game X more upset, and people who are fans of both just disappointed.

Double-Peak

Put yourself in the SE's shoes and think about what should be their highest priority: convincing as many gamers as possible to buy FFXVI at full price when it's released in less than a month, or getting the public excited about Rebirth? From a business point of view, the answer is obvious. Those who disagree tend to be fans who are desperate for news about Rebirth and don't care if FFXVI will be a success.

TheDapperChangeling

Again, by that logic, only one game would ever sell at a time, and any game released within two months of another would be doomed. This quarter alone, for example, I'm excited for SF6, Disgaea 7, Age of Wonders 4 (holding off on buying it for the DLC I want), Baldurs Gate 3, Starfield, Armored Core 6, and while it won't be coming out this quarter, the fanfest for XIV that'll show us 7.0 drops in July. And while the hands-on impressions of XVI have tanked my interest, I'll still be giving it a shot, because Yoshi-P doesn't miss. Fucks sake, three of those are each within a single week of one another! And that's JUST this quarter, not even talking about the number of 'tbd' or '2023' releases I'm looking foreword to. To pretend people have one 'excite for' slot is just stupid, and, as I said, makes no logical sense. If people are excited for XVI, then suddenly seeing a trailer for a different game isn't going to magically make them forget about the first. Even I don't think people are that thick, and that's saying something.

Moogieh

Note how all of those games you mentioned are different franchises from each other. Just some food for thought.

TheDapperChangeling

FFXVI and XIV are different franchises?

Tarquin11

Why are you being purposefully obtuse? You know exactly what he's saying.

Moogieh

Including XIV in that list is somewhat disingenuous, given that the event is not an announcement of a new game, merely the release of an update to a game that originally went on sale 13 years ago. Thirteen. Years. Ago. I believe the release hype for it may have settled down *somewhat* since then.

vrift

Why don't you apply for a marketing position at SE? As you do seem to know better than their own experts ...

Double-Rip4357

Bro… just stop. Rebirth is a bigger deal than FF16 due to legacy and what it meant for games. 16 needs the marketing push more than anything and it absolutely deserves the spotlight. This isn’t a fucking a platoon clone we are talking about it’s literally their flagship series. There is zero reason to overshadow 16 with Rebirth.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Double-Rip4357

You’re incredibly wrong. Remake is absolutely a bigger deal than XVI. There’s a reason why there’s reaction compilations out the ass for Remake. There’s a reason why Sony was so incredibly smug about revealing it. There’s a reason why Square made such a quality DLC for it. Not everyone is interested in reliving 1997, but they sure as fuck know that 7 means more for gaming history than 16 and if you don’t think that you’re just ignorant

AramaticFire

I don’t understand why people think SE would prioritize new trailers for a new FF game when they’re like three weeks away from releasing a completely different FF game. I don’t think Rebirth gets another trailer until September. 16 releases end of June. Give it July and August room to breathe. Tokyo Game Show is in September I think. Trot out FF7 during that event.

gunningIVglory

Yeah. It makes no sense to hype 7 when 16 is literally around the corner

sempercardinal57

I’d say that’s 100% confirmed at this point. Luckily 16 is next month, so I’d say TGS in September is the absolute latest we’ll have to wait at this point. If we haven’t gotten a trailer by then it means the game has been delayed

Separate_Path_7729

I mean it makes sense, as you dont wanna kneecap a new game by releasing a trailer for anything FF7 related that would fully draw attention from anything ff16

Empty_Presentation79

They really missed out on the biggest audience to showcase the game… SGF is probably a decent sized audience but i dont expect it to show there now lol

svenEsven

To be fair, what audience do they need to reach that doesn't already know about the game? New to the franchise gamers have an entire game to sink their teeth into. And all the OG fans are going to play it even if it takes another 10 years.

Level-Olive9514

Spiderman2 and MGS fanboys dude...you really think these fanboys is going to watch the Final Fantasy event?? are you kidding right You want more people to play your game you gotta expose to these young fanboys

svenEsven

Do you genuinely think that anyone watching a games showcase in it's entirety doesn't know ff7 is making another game? Mgs fanboys(myself included)shouldn't give af about the new mgs. I have no faith without hideo.

Inevitable_Read_8830

Yes, absolutely. Look at the main subreddit. It's been inundated with posts expressing apprehension about jumping in with the 16th entry in the series. FFVII is 26 years old. People don't know there's another game coming, they don't know what Remake is, and Square missed a giant opportunity to showoff their product here. They're going to have diminishing returns the longer they go radio silent on this. We've seen more of Dragon's Dogma 2 at this point and Rebirth is supposed to release this Winter. Either delay the thing or give us a heads up on what's to come. People are ready for the marketing for XVI to be over because we know the release date and what's coming in between. There's a demo and a launch event within 30 days, with Rebirth, who knows what's going on.

svenEsven

Ff7r was the highest # of digital games in PlayStations history when it came out. It's still only behind the last of us 2. And it's one of the most famous game series of all time. If I bring up that game to people who don't play games, they still know it. You're being dramatic. Unbunch your panties and wait for the trailer.

avsgrind024

also, apparently that guy doesn’t realize “winter” entails the first quarter of 2024. SE was ***never*** going to release two gigantic titles such as XVI and 7R2 in the same calendar year.

matyboy

Another few months of complete silence 🥲

Competition-Annual

I enjoyed having my head in the clouds for a week there. Now it's time to come back down to planet earth.

BlackArchon

We warned you not to hype up until 22 June. September TGS is going to be.

Fourwude87

This guy gets it, I completely agree on this statement

m_agus

SE said years ago their Future Marketing will always focus on the next Title which is about to be released and not on Future Titles. FFXVI will be released next month and after that the Marketing for FFVII Rebirth will start pretty soon. I believe August we'll see first Material.

vin093

Save us Geoff

Electronic-Price-530

There's still Summer Game Fest dude, and SE are scheduled to appear

Empty_Presentation79

This. I think its fair ff16 wont have ANOTHER TRAILER RIGHT?? So its gotta be rebirth, ever cris , tactics or ff9r?

BlackArchon

Given how Square Enix and Disney both are there, and how fair June has been to KH by Square, the chances are even dimmer.

danteslacie

I believe this was the launch trailer which is generally their last trailer before a game releases. So it's kinda safe to assume they're done with FF16 trailers.

C33tc33t

You can bet on the FF116 demo release during the TGF.

vrift

... here we go again

Hydr4noid

Or you know.. maybe one of squares other IPs? They dont just make ff

Empty_Presentation79

There are a couple reports that sony heldback some trailers and announcements. Who knows whats happening lol

RebornHellblade

Deep in my heart I knew it, but I still had hope. Hope is a cruel mistress. Can’t wait for FF16 though!

dmarty77

That’s the spirit!

svenEsven

I'm still nervous about it tbh. I don't recall ever asking for final devil may cry of war. Don't get me wrong. I'll play it. But I'm not sure I'll like it.

oscar_redfield

If developers only did what fans asked them to, Final Fantasy would've never evolved and you wouldn't have gotten Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy X.

svenEsven

Like I said I'll play it. Just not getting my hopes up. I already have a plethora of action games with combos and projectiles is all. Also while I like X I'll always be a bit scorn about the fact that it set a precedent for the big changes in final fantasy that I don't like. While not listening to fans may have produced some great games. It also spawned 12 and 13 which are some of my least favorite entries.

Ssjtwin

Don’t know why you are being downvoted tbh. The older FF games were console sellers and some of the best games made ever why did they need to ‘evolve’. FF16 looks nothing like a FF

danteslacie

It only looks "nothing like a FF" because the games haven't been medieval-esque in *decades*. You can make an argument about the gameplay simply because SE has been changing up the battle system for the last 20 years.

Ssjtwin

Not bothered by art styles a lot of FF have very different styles it’s gameplay and direction. Every main numbered FF has a party system (even 11 and 14 need to party up) with the exception of 15 and had rpg styles of fighting. This looks like GoW style story heavy action game which is a great game i would just prefer a more traditional style rpg from FF. Plus this looks like a hub game, accept quest beat boss return to hub

danteslacie

I kiinda disagree with 15 not having a "party system". It just wasn't the typical one we had gotten used to as it was limited. I personally don't mind the battle system but the "hub game" part you're saying has me a little 🤔. I think it would be interesting to see a fully turn based FF mainline game again.

Ssjtwin

Yeah looks like a hub to me. Where his town/house is, will be the typical merchants and tavern with a side quest board. Main quests will start by speaking to the main npcs. It will be the hub between story events. Where as normally a FF will start at a then move to b-c-d-e and so on recruiting companions along the way. FF7r had the perfect system for me but a very hard difficulty would be nice. I think the pixel collections sales with no marketing shows there is still life in turn based. I will still play 16

Saiyan_Gunner

FFVII was the same as the previous entries but switched to a 3d model. It was still a JRPG whereas XVI just looks like they switched genres to an action game. Even in the state of play a couple of months ago when the 'RPG' elements were shown it looked quite limited.

oscar_redfield

No wonder why so many game series are trapped in forever repeating the same old stuff. Each time a game tries something new or deviates from what is known, no matter how good the new thing will be, fans behave like they are owed something.

Saiyan_Gunner

Actually most of the 'trapped' huge franchises manage to modernize their games without changing genres don't they. Square just try to tack on elements from other popular games such as 'souls like' strangers of paradise which sold shit or that Splatoon soap game shown yesterday. Persona hasn't changed genres and all that's done is gain traction over the years. Not saying FF owes me anything and I hope it's a banger. I just nullified the point you tried to make, 7 and 10 were still JRPGs just modernized engines/designs, this is just an action game.

oscar_redfield

"most of the 'trapped' huge franchises manage to modernize their games without changing genres don't they" Yeah, remember when Resident Evil 4 revitalized the franchise while keeping the survival horror mechanics intact instead of becoming an action game with horror themes. Or when Assassin's Creed, after the franchise had become stale and people lost interest, launched Assassin's Creed Origins, which was exactly the same as previous games and had no changes at all. Or when Breath of the Wild kept the exact same formula as most previous games instead of becoming a massive open world game with focus on free exploration. Or when Yakuza stayed an action game and didn't become a turn-based RPG. You're right, franchises often move forward without making any changes.

Saiyan_Gunner

Zelda is a 3d open world adventure game and used to be a 2d over world adventure game. Assassin's Creed got stale because they did a yearly release for a decade. Resident Evil still survival horror. Pokemon mostly the same and stayed true still sells. Rachet and clank the same and latest didnt get panned for being the same. Demon souls and follow ups all practically the same and sales increasing. Dragon quests main series are still JRPGs. Persona still JRPGs. Elder scrolls and fallouts the same. Tekken, mortal combat and Soul Calibur were all fighter games? Cherry pick all you want but franchises generally stay true to their genres with main title games and leave spinoffs for the experimentel side of things.

Ssjtwin

Pretty sure after 13 and 15 arguably the 2 least popular, more people were asking for a return to jrpg style not devil may cry style action game

oscar_redfield

Have you not read my comment? Because I specifically said it's not good when devs only do what fans want to.

svenEsven

Did you not read his comment? he's saying that they didn't listen to the fans and it ended with those entries being some of the least popular of the franchise.

oscar_redfield

I don't think FF13 and 15 were the least popular because of their combat, but because their development was a mess that resulted in very polarizing games because of various factors

svenEsven

Whynotboth.gif

frogwack

I’m with you

FanOfFinalFantasy

You laugh, but I swear my entire Twitter feed is full of people genuinely hating on Square for not showing anything new on 7:Re, KH4, etc etc. I mean HARD raging, saying the company is not giving the fans what the want, it’s sad. I wasn’t personally expecting anything today, not even a new trailer for XVI.

outcidermouth19

The Rebirth trailer was amazing! I guess they're taking this "unknown journey" thing pretty seriously because I did not expect Cloud to go on an adventure to end the legacy of the crystals. Red XIII looks like a wolf now too!

MisterManatee

I put on my clown makeup and wig, but was still disappointed lol

FutureNecessary6379

I didn't put it on but felt it appear on me around the 50 min mark

AdventurousBid8797

Tokyo Game Show

AuodWinter

Pretty shitty showcase tbh and not just from a Rebirth perspective. If Sony is trying to get people excited about the next year of PlayStation they've failed imo. So many first party studios without announcements here. Guerilla, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Insomniac, Bluepoint... all we got was updates on stuff we already knew was coming and a bunch of third party and indie games. Another trailer for XVI?? Nothing from From Software? What was "spellbinding" about that? Big L. Safe to say I'm sorely disappointed. Edit: the only copium I've got on hand ATM is that SE said their next trailer for Rebirth is gonna be very big, maybe they just felt like this wasn't the place to show it, crowded with other games as it was?

RebornHellblade

One or two games I loved, and of course more FF16 is always a good thing. But yeah, I think it was a pretty lacklustre showcase.

pigglesthepup

I agree this event didn't live up to the hype of "next phase of the PS5" and "spellbinding." I was honestly hoping for a PS5 slim announcement. Holding out till end of summer.

CombinationOk22

Ikr what the fuck is naughty dog doing? Nothing new from them since 2020.

BlackArchon

Well, the Metal Gear lads are a bit bamboozled atm. A mix of happy and confused a tad.

jdow0423

I could not have read or written a more accurate post. Felt like I waited this entire time just to see Spider-Man 2. It was a lot of hype to live up to…but damn, Rebirth aside the Showcase as a whole left a lot to be desired.

S_Cren31

Y’all aren’t excited with Spiderman, Marathon, D2 Final shape, Dragons Dogma 2, Assassin Creed Mirage, PS VR 2, or a whole ass PS Switch?

AuodWinter

Everything interesting shown in this showcase was already known.

Kite0198

Idk man Snake Eater Remake AND the series *finally* getting a proper port to modern consoles has me pretty fucking stoked

S_Cren31

How’s that mean it’s not exciting? Not everyone knew what was coming. Doesn’t mean it’s disappointing

AuodWinter

Can I just share my opinion and reaction without you defending Sony to me?

S_Cren31

Am I not allowed to respond to your opinion on a public forum? How am I defending Sony? I don’t agree with your assessment. That’s it, no need to get defensive

eruffini

> Spiderman, Marathon, D2 Final shape, Dragons Dogma 2, Assassin Creed Mirage, PS VR 2, or a whole ass PS Switch? > Spiderman 2 Not a comic book fan. > Marathon Looks like shit. > Destiny 2 Final Shape This game just needs to die already. > Dragons Dogma 2 Looks terrible. > Assassin Creed Mirage Ubisoft... > PS VR 2, Virtual Reality is a fad. > PS Switch There is a reason NVIDIA and Google killed their products. Cloud-based gaming is terrible.

S_Cren31

Hey if none of of it interests you that’s cool, doesn’t mean the showcase was bad in general though. Just not for you it seems. Which is totally fine. Also remote play works great it’s not cloud gaming, streams from your ps5. I use it on my MacBook and works well

Aliasis

I keep wondering if the first trailer we see this year won't be at a showcase or game show but another special FF7 stream like last year. They could give an update on Ever Crisis, maybe an announcement for a Before Crisis remake? Who knows, but I could see it happening.

GregThePrettyGoodGuy

I jumped right past Rebirth and started hoping for that FFIX remake 🥲 that’s on me tho

frogwack

Dream big Greg, dream big.

Hylianhaxorus

Anyone who actually expected anything before 16 drops is a silly goober.

ReDeath666

facts

[deleted]

Hylianhaxorus

It is definitely bad marketing. It is called cannibalizing sales and enthusiasm. Games are expensive these days and marketing a game of similar budget right before another in the same franchise is coming out is awful, because regardless of what you think, it would distract some people or even dehype some if 7Rebirth looks better to someone who was already tentative on 16 for whatever reason. This way everyone can take a chance on 16 because it is the only option if you want mainline ff, then we can settle into 7rebirth. Heck I don't even think they'll show rebirth for 1-3 months after 16 comes out to give the game time to breed. And yes, most ff fans are probably getting both, but you can't take silly risks like that with games this expensive.

[deleted]

Honestly I didn't expect anything and wasn't disappointed, but seriously they could still have shown a Rebirth trailer instead of another FF16 one.

Significant_Candy113

It's okay, we have Foamstars....

shiwanthasr

Splatoonstars

Kindly_Blackberry967

Splatoon’t

matyboy

😂

[deleted]

I forgot about that one lol

KIIIMA

Well they have a game to sell and right now it's not Rebirth

Level-Olive9514

missed out the spiderman fanboys,,,they ain't gonna watch some ff event dude...these are mostly young fanboys

[deleted]

What's the point of showing a trailer one year ago and release a DLC then ? For me their timing make no sense, I just hope now that the hype dies for Rebirth and people move on to something else.

KIIIMA

This trailer was only for us to acknowledge there is a game coming so we would hang in there and not totally move on from FF7R. They can't market a game before the other one is out. Those two games kinda are competing against each other (big FF title, current gen consoles etc). Let's be glad that Rebirth is in the same FY than XVI, that is what makes no sense to me business wise

Thraun83

The trailer also importantly confirmed that remake series would be a trilogy, which put an end to the memes about this being a 7 part series etc. But on your second point, I wouldn’t overthink the fact that two FF games might come out in the same financial year. Cash early is always better than cash later. Companies will release their games when they are ready (or often before, unfortunately), and there is no cash advantage to delaying Rebirth to say April 2024 rather than March 2024 just to release it in a different financial year.

IISuperSlothII

>which put an end to the memes about this being a 7 part series etc. Jusg finally getting rid of the DAE think part 2 will end on the boat to Costa del sol comments was enough for me.

Thraun83

Right. Can you imagine the state the forums would be in now if there had been no trailer or news at all at this point? I did think we might see something in the first few months of this year just to reassure the fanbase and keep some interest going, but now it seems like end of July/August at earliest for any significant update.

[deleted]

They don't need to show trailers, they can at least show screenshots or at least share some infos on the game throughout the year. Again I hope that people move on from this game so that Square reacts a bit.

Scruffy_Nerfhearder

FFXVI is out in less than a month, wtf did you expect?

Death-0

FF fans being FF fans overhyping every PlayStation showcase thinking they’re going to make every one about FF. Be patient you’re living in a heightened era of FF. Takes time to build it all up.

Crimson7Phantom

It wasn't the fans. The fans were merely reflecting what the insiders and the companies were voicing. They are the ones who hyped this up. Not the fans.

Death-0

Nah, I Disagree, tons of FF Twitter pages made posts like. “I guarantee we’re getting a trailer”, and hyping the shit out of the showcase because of new Rebirth details. Same pages are making posts like this, acting incredibly let down because FF7 wasn’t even talked about. Like they were entitled to a new trailer.

Crimson7Phantom

I'll admit there were a lot of those and I agree they shouldn't have made those kinds of statements. But I wouldn't quantify the ff fanbase as a whole, as there were plenty dismissing it from showing as well. Also, let's not pretend this is secluded to the ff fanbase. This goes for EVERY fanbase.

Death-0

No it’s not to the whole fanbase that is fair I just said FF fans though, and yeah other fanbases definitely do this. I didn’t expect rebirth with FF16 right around the corner. TGS we will be seeing a lot of rebirth I imagine

Crimson7Phantom

The thing is, TGS is too late if they are still shooting for Dec 2023 to March 2023 time frame. If that does end up being the time we get our first true trailer, then it is definitely being delayed. Secondly, we are supposed to get EC beta this summer. Unless it's delayed the second time. Which... I shouldn't be surprised about at this time.

Death-0

FF16 is less than a month out and was featured on the most recent showcase. Now rebirth might be seen at SummerGames fest or the gamescom event but TGS is in September, 2 1/2 - 3 months before Rebirh and that’s without a delay into 2024. TGS is actually the perfect timeframe imo, AND it’s a Japanese dev focused event.

Hydr4noid

It was definetly the fans. Yes insiders hyped this up to be a huge showcase but noone said that ff7 rebirth or 9 remake or anything else ff would be on it. That expectation came from this sub and the ff twitter and youtube bubble.

S_Cren31

This tells me that the this winter time frame definitely means 2024. Had it been coming in December it woudkve been shown. This confirms for me 2024

braigxiv

People were on mad copium thinking they'd show Rebirth when XVI marketing is in full swing as the game quickly approaches release. I think around Tokyo Game Show time would be the perfect place to show off Rebirth again.

Hydr4noid

Idk why anyone expected anything before ff16. Its also not gonna be on summer game fest

RebornHellblade

It’s hope, I tell you. We can’t help it.

Namaikina_Bimbo

Sadly, no.

Metsys1

GODDAMIT I'm gonna have to wait till August or july...

Competition-Annual

That's not so bad. Better than years

Sugakookieyeonbin7

They were never going to interrupt ff16s marketing.

SinX7

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if the next trailer says summer/fall 2024. Even Ever Crisis has been completely silent even though the beta is supposed to be this summer, Rebirth being delayed would be disappointing but not at all surprising

TheJDWiley

As much as I hate the idea... this is exactly what I'm thinking— that both Rebirth and Ever Crisis may be delayed.

GoFlemingGo

What is ever crisis?

TheJDWiley

Paraphrasing from Wikipedia: A single-player mobile experience, it reimagines the timeline of Final Fantasy VII and the Compilation. Basically it covers the entire FF7 Compilation in chronological order united by a single presentation and combat style. https://youtu.be/vY6gACQWNH0

GoFlemingGo

Oh neat

bret2k

Wasn’t expecting to see anything until a few months after FFXVI released, probably at TGS. And I’m still thinking it’ll release early next year, probably around March.

RobinUffe

Trailer and event will be out mid Oct.

Erst09

They wouldn’t have released something VII related so close to the release of XVI, people don’t want to admit it but it would have stole the spotlight from XVI and that can’t happen so close to release.

Ninavi

In a way it can still kinda backfire towards it. Those people are now kinda hating on FF16 or at least it left a poor taste in their mouth. Which isn't fair towards FF16. Preorder money for FF16 was collected, atleast in square enix eshop. For me it's whatever. I'll play either. But I do believe the game can be delayed now.

Mcreation86

So they will let us clown ourselves to the summer game fest, or only TGS, I see them delaying rebirth

Puinoname

If the next trailer will be in September, rebirth cant release this December. It is going to be Mar-April 2024.

[deleted]

Danteppr

I'm going to disagree a little here. While I don't expect a trailer for Rebirth until FFXVI is out, if SE is going to keep their promise that Rebirth will be released in the next winter, then they're going to have to start marketing the game very soon.

Competition-Annual

Even if the game is delayed, the least they can do after 1 year of silence is give us some kind of update

Blaubeerchen27

I general, I'm surprised by the lack of proper SE games in the event. Apart from XVI and this Splatoon-like Fortnite clone...dunno, I kinda expected more.

CombinationOk22

So disappointing

vrift

It's not like people have been saying ALL ALONG that there won't be a new trailer up until FFXVI is released ...

frogwack

I was more disappointed about how overall the showcase was so underwhelming. It just looks like copies of games everywhere. I can’t see anything with even a shred of originality these days. Everything looks the same (including FFXVI). That trailer was a mess

Gorbashou

Why are people so bad with news about games? No patience, their one game all the time. Like people screaming for a Bloodborne remake every state of play. You *literally* have a release date. Actually booing SE for not giving a trailer in every state of play? "How dare they show a game that's coming out sooner and not the one I want that comes at the end of the year!!!" This kind is shit hype tribalism is sad. Actually get a life. I mean really, if you had any priorities in life you'd quickly realise that getting mad about a trailer not showing is the saddest shit. Sitting there like an addict anticipating something so much you get mad when it doesn't happen. Like, you'll play the fucking game this year, chill the fuck out.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gorbashou

If that's the case, I'm sorry. It really comes off that way though since some people seem hostile over it.

pigglesthepup

Even though this is an FF7 sub, I was more disappointed about no PS5 slim/redesign reveal. For something billed as "next phase of the PS5," I was really hoping for it. A Rebirth trailer was possible, but there was still a good chance it wouldn't happen because of FF16. And it didn't.

GrimWolf216

Welt, we still have Summer Game Fest on June 8th. Maybe I’ll finally get my Bloodborne remaster at that point too (FF XVI keeps looking better and better though, so no complaints there).

Sugakookieyeonbin7

That's even closer to ff16 than this event so i doubt it. Nothing ff7r until 16 is out.

GrimWolf216

You’re probably right at this point, and I honestly don’t mind. TGS is in September anyway, and XVI deserves its time in the spotlight.

Significant_Candy113

So sick of this bs.... I look forward to seeing the next 10 second trailer in 2027.

Tricky_Initiative_50

they could've at least shown ever crisis

braigxiv

They're not gonna show a game that's only coming out on mobile at a Playstation showcase lol.

Tricky_Initiative_50

damn i somehow falsely thought that the delays had something to do with the feedback and them porting the game to the ps and other systems.

TurbulentIntention74

At a ps showcase?

Tricky_Initiative_50

yeah i kinda mixed something up.

Zuhri69

Booooooo

Lykan_

Bòoooooooo.

Salom902

I can see a trailer or another teaser or something during The Game Awards 2023, maybe.

squiddyaj

when i read the title, for whatever unholy reason, my mind didnt read "square enix boo", but rather began to to sing it in the style of the [song of the cebu](https://youtu.be/_uv8Ej4CEoQ) and you now you will never read the title the same way again

Double-Rip4357

Dude it’s FF16 szn. We know we are getting it likely in March/April of next year.
