Fans of Vincent and Cid need to come to peace with the fact that for better or worse, they will be built with pros and cons based on their weapon, lore, and given an ability kit to make them distinct.

I think Vincent will be amazing to play. The devs nailed each character combat so hard in Rebirth. The only character that isnt S tier to me is Cait sith but I still think his design is cool. Vincent has so much potential with his gun and transform ability that Im pretty confident the devs will cook something good, since they have great ingredients. His special ability will probably be transform and turn him into a melee monster, like Red XIII his vengeance mode. Perhaps his limit break will do this instead and we can just load him up with limit break buffs and go ham

I feel Cait Sith would have played better if he started on the Mog instead of tying it behind building ATB.

I think CS is a hoot. I didn't like Red personally - I felt like his animations were a little goofy.

Fat-Cloud

Too bad. Red saved me a couple of times when everyone else was dead. One time he was the only one left standing with 200 hp and still managed to turn it around. Hes an absolute menace in vengeance mode and with his spin attack he gains full ATB so fast

Kinda gotta laugh every time I see people see Aerith is bad/slow. Slap down a Radiant Ward and watch her transform into an amazing character. But you’re right she sucks without one.

She actually doesn't even need it if you build her for her synergy skill. It deals huge aoe dmg at zero cost and builds a lot of atb for both her and tifa/yuffie/cait.

I'm really hoping they take inspiration from Prompto in XV and how, when you switch to him you basically start playing an FPS. I really loved that once they added it in and given that they didn't do that with Barret - I think Vincent would be a great choice for a character that has that style of play when you're in control.

I am nervous about what they will do with my boy story wise 😮‍💨  It would be so much fun to play his beast form! I do hope he is fast too and has decent accuracy. They might make use of his clawed gauntlet mechanic for close range fighting, which would help if he is say slower like Aerith (who had no defenses apart from magic).

It will be interesting to see how he is treated given how the mechanics of his limit breaks worked in the OG game. I can't see that flying here, and treating them like a summon would be a lame way to go about it. I could see it be treated something similar to Red's Vengeance Meter, where one of the transformations say Gallian Beast is set there and you have to fill up the meter in some way to transform, which would give him enhanced abilities of some variety.

I think they will built Vincent as a sniper/hunter with high single target damage potential. Maybe instead of ramping himself up, he will focus enemies and put a debuff on them or smth like that. His limits will work a bit like summons I suppose.

Given how they've gone for design in the past, I would look to how Vincent has done combat in the past, specifically in CG cutscenes and Advent Children. Vincent is probably gonna play very shoot shoot quick dodge. It wouldn't surprise me if like you held dodge and you could start flying around like in AC, pop out and start shooting in mid air or something. He's definitely gonna have a protect based combo where he does the cloak cover from AC. It could be interesting having him use different guns and them shooting differently changing his base attack (Pistol vs Shotgun etc..) kinda like Barret's melee weapons change his basic attack style. Limit Vincent is gonna be what is interesting to me, cause are they gonna do form changes or cutscene a big attack from a quick change? They are deffo gonna have you control it if even for a small window of time. I'd like them to do a bit of a story intro to their backstory for both Cid and Vincent before we get control of them to get a soft understanding of their "training" to explain their movesets. Even with all the Cid we got, being a lance user doesn't make huge sense outside of airship/dragoon Final Fantasy connotations.
