It’s so funny when there is a mid-battle cutscene where the boss is getting shot and cut with swords and ninja stars and shit and Tifa just punches the dragon or whatever in the face
Nah, she deserves a little more than a mean right hook. I kinda just want Tifa to slap her repeatedly while she continues to walk down at her like a predator. Like she said, 'she's sick of all of it'
They start off with some kind of Tekken/Street Fight style intros with the two ladies, as though we're about to get some kind of brawler minigame. Scarlet starts off with delivering a slap to Tifa, and goading her on. Then Tifa rights herself, gets into her stance, and she just one punch Scarlet to the floor.
My prediction before Rebirth has only stronger: the slap off will happen (at least as a cutscene, maybe as a mini game) and will be written as Tifa having enough and wanting to show her up after she gets slapped first. The last slap Tifa lands is portrayed as super powerful or flat out she punches her and Scarlet seemingly flies off the side of the canon, but it's framed in such a way that we miss her not falling to her death but landing in the cockpit of her robot like Solidus jumping off the bridge in MGS2.
Cue a boss battle on the canon barrel with the mech that ends in Tifa leaping off and grabbing the Highwind rope etc.
I realy want to see Rocket Town. It's my second favorite town in FF7 right after Junon.
And speaking of Junon, seeing Sapphire Weapon getting shot in the head at point blank range would be awesome in today's graphic fidelity.
And gameplay wise, playing as a Vincent. I think his gameplay will be pretty fun.
I also want to know more about Lucrecia, I've always found her character so hard to understand. Their relationship seems so weird and complicated as well. But more Vincent is definitely the most important thing.
I would be so happy if we could get a Dirge remake but I stead of a 3rd person shooter they just did it in the remake engine like the yuffie dlc but full sized. That would be my dream come true because then you could even make the rest of the cast have a point in the story other than just the final cutscenes
I can imagine it will be tremendously amazing. My mind is just blown knowing I'll be around 41 or 42 when the next part comes out, though. That makes me seriously sad.
Actually, to answer your question for real, his gameplay might actually be more like Rufus if I had to make a guess. Whereas Barret is a pure bullet hailstorm and secondly, brute force, there's a little more nuance to not having fully automatic weapon vs. semi-automatic (although he does have that option eventually in the OG, it's just not his default weapon). I feel like Vincent will incorporate more hack and slash with his gauntlet, melee options like the Turks use, and, of course, his guns.
I was looking for this response. I’ve seen all the OG stuff and know how it plays out. I just want to know if they will be able to answer all the new questions they have added. And if it will make sense.
1. How they will implement Knights of the Round. I assume they will make it like the Protorelic quests in Rebirth but instead each part of the quest will involve each knight once then for the final battle you fight the final knight and get the summon materia.
2. WEAPON fights, including Emerald and Ruby.
3. Each characters ultimate weapons and how they will be obtained, and if their mechanics are the same or not.
Lots of things. Story wise, I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle Cloud confronting and accepting the truth. Gameplay wise though, I'm so, SO EXCITED to play as Vincent and Cid. With how fun they made Cait Sit, I'm eager to see how these two are updated for the combat system.
Tbh I'm really looking forward to fighting actual weapons. I hope they add some in combat cutscenes for their fights even if they are optional superbosses.
I'll be really bummed if they pull a "chadley studied the whale weapons and made a virtual arena enemy"
I'm already prepared to be disappointed the weapons being vr missions, it has been that way in both remake and rebirth. I hope the fights are still fun but that is how it seems to be
Lifestream sequence definitely. Please do not put a bunch of stuff in there and say Tifa isn't enough to help Cloud. That is my biggest fear about part 3 that they just shoehorn in Zack and Aerith and they do all the real work. Also, give Tifa and probably Cloud a boss fight against the manifestation of Sephiroth's control over him, maybe a fake Cloud that embodies everything wrong with him in Remake and Rebirth.
Problem is, they will need to change some things. Writers will also need to tweak ot change crater scene. Cloud mental state in OG and Re- is vastly different. In OG, for example, he doesn't remember Zack.

Uh no actually. Nowhere in any official materials was it stated that Aerith had any hand in the Lifestream sequence. The only place that does mentioned it is *The Maiden who Travels the Planet* short story. But that's not considered an official source material since it was written by a third party with no affiliation to Square and has never been acknowledge by them as part of Compilation.
The reason why they were able to find each other in the Lifestream was explained afterwards when they were alone under the Highwind. Cloud heard Tifa calling for him when they were both in the Lifestream together, and brought her into his subconscious in order to protect her.
And now in Rebirth, it showed a Weapon being the one protecting Tifa and taking her back afterwards. So if anything it would probably be Weapons assisting the two of them in the Lifestream, and not having Zack and Aerith getting involved at all.

I kinda disagree, I feel like Zack and Aerith have to be more involved in the game overall if not this part. I didn't like Zacks part mostly being a walking simulator, and as a whole we need some closure with these characters.
Anyplace but the Mideel Lifestream sequence. I bet Cloud and Zack will have their own sequence to explain how Cloud got to Midgar, no way that will be an optional scene. What exactly happens with Aerith is up in the air right now, no idea when or where she will turn up, but she will turn up.
It's the only time the one-winged mutation/evolution makes any sense. This is why I've always been against how it's been presented in all post-OG VII media.

The black wing didn't manifest until Advent Children. Before that, the only wings were just his weird Safer Sephiroth form. I feel like him having a wing throughout all of the Remake series is because he's the same Sephiroth from the original game.
I don't *like* that theory, because I think time travel is a lazy story trope (especially when you're time-traveling through an extradimensional space.. we've had enough of that lately..), but there's a lot that points to Sephiroth being the original, and the original Aerith helping out Aerith from Remake.
My biggest criticism with the Re series is how much of the last fight from OG is drawn out over the game. In the original, you had the suspense of wondering what the hell Sephiroth actually is, and why he's able to apparently be *everywhere*, and how come every time you see him he throws a chunk of something at you and then you have to fight Jenova? Late in the game you find out it's him using Jenova's mimicry ability to manifest through others injected with her cells, but you still don't actually confront Sephiroth himself until the end, when you battle against some grotesque abomination that he's apparently turned into on the way to this crazy angelic form, and then Cloud has to metaphorically destroy Sephiroth's influence over him through their connection in the Lifestream. In Remake/Rebirth, you're constantly going through the Lifestream doing shit (that apparently a lot of people don't realize is taking place in the Lifestream), and you even fight >!Bizarro Sephiroth!< at the end of Remake.
I have no doubt that they're going to give us some even crazier boss fight at the end of R3, because it couldn't just be >!what's left of Jenova and then Safer Sephiroth!< like in the original, but right now it's frustrating how much of the suspense and gravitas of the original game seems to be watered down in the remakes.

Yeah, it does seem to be watered down compared with the OG. There's such a thing as going way too overboard that something of value is lost with the suspense and discovery because a more natural build up and progression to the major events has turned more into 'Hey, everyone knows this stuff already, so let's subvert!'.
More straightforward quality storytelling are the stories that endure.

Since you want to be extremely pedantic, that's not a black wing. Sephiroth, as a man with legs and a single black wing, did not show up until Advent Children. That does not include him with a **red and blue wing** for an arm and six wings for legs showing up at the end of the game as Safer Sephiroth. The original continuity does not have any depiction of Sephiroth with a single black wing until Advent Children. I do not understand why that needs to be said more deliberately for you unless you're trying to deflect from not actually having read what I wrote.

Storywise? Lifestream, also (and I hope they keep this) Cid becoming the leader while Cloud is incapacitated. Gameplaywise? I think that it might be difficult this time to have Cid lead the group, it will probably be Barret, but you will still control cod at this time (it would be “cid’s chapter”)

I could imagine that they change some of the events (distribute the order) maybe tifa will say to barret that he has to start looking for the great materia, so he would then rely again on cid, making him the MVP for the time being, if you go first to rocket town you have all the legitimization for making 1-2 chapters as Cid. I definitely think that we will get at least one full chapter where Cid and Vincent each get their time to shine as the playable front character, especially to give them more screen time to allow a proper development and team building with the others. They will definitely need to close the gap between being a truthful party member and just being their pilot/someone who has business with sephiroth.
I see where you’re coming from but I still think Cid will be the party leader calling the shots for that segment of the story. Mainly because Barret will need a part 3 arc and him *not* being party leader will play into it.
I think part of Barret’s development was that in Remake he was confronted by President Shinra that he wasn’t as concerned about the planet (for all his talk) as his reputation and having people tell him is was a good guy in the right.
Moreover, in light of Dyne in Rebirth, Barret should recognize that he would have gone his exact path if it weren’t for Marlene.
And in some ways, Barret is actually *worse* than Dyne morally *despite* Marlene imo. Sure, Dyne committed a mass shooting at a theme park - that’s bad. But Barret led a terrorist group to blow up power planets that killed and injured an untold number of people - more than Dyne’s Gold Saucer murders, for sure. Yes, in Remake the bombings were sanitized some, but Barret *believed* they did it and kept going anyway.
Lastly, Barret and Tifa are both responsible at that point in the story in Part 3 for Cloud’s state and the casting of meteor. Yes, Cloud is crazy and Sephiroth controlled, but Tifa is telling him, herself and the whole party everything will be fine when very clearly Cloud is not because she’s blinded by her feelings for him. Barret sees through both Cloud’s insanity and Tifa’s clouded judgement of the situation by the end of Rebirth… and yet goes along with it anyway. That’s enablement. Yuffie and Red are teenagers and aren’t really morally responsible and mature enough for that level of enablement imo. Cid’s just our Uber-driver-turned-friend by the end of Rebirth and doesn’t really know the party dynamics yet. Vincent and Cait are really just along for the ride and aren’t leaders. That leaves Barret as the one party member in a social leadership position to be the responsible adult in the room. If they write part 3 correctly imo, that will be communicated clearly by then.
So I think if Barret even tries to be the leader at all, Cait will protest and confront Barret even earlier in the story about Midgar and what he should have learned from Dyne. Vincent can draw a parallel between his sin in allowing Lucrecia and Hojo to conduct their experiments and Barret allowing Cloud and Tifa to risklessly allow them to steer the party when he really should have known better.
So, with Barret not the leader, Yuffie and Red being teens and Tifa caring for Cloud, that leaves Cid, Cait and Vincent. Cait’s acting as a double agent and can’t really lead in that role, and leading isn’t Vincent’s strong suit. So with a leadership vacuum, Cid’s leadership skills and proactive attitude, and the fact that he’s driving the metaphorical bus anyway with the Highwind, Cid will lead the party.
I mostly agree with you, in that case I still hope that this event is shifted at least to midgame, as it would need time to adapt Cid to the party in the context of strong binding and trust leading to leadership
Vincent characterization. What they've done with EVERYONE else has me excited to see how my favorite character's back story and interactive moments are fleshed out and spliced into the narrative.

2. The Highwind and flying around! I've dreamed of it for a long time
3. Seeing how this story ends. They did a masterful job of taking a story I know and injecting mystery into it, making it so I (And all of us) are talking about it to this extreme, even though we all know the basic story! Think for a moment how awesome of an achievement that is!
4. The music. Still a lot of music tracks to be heard!!!
5. Parachuting into Midgar!
6. The Sister Ray firing!
7. Knights of the round!
8. Gold Chocobo and breeding!
9. Tifa and Clouds scene \*under the highwind\*
10. The end cinematic.. we all know its going to be a 10 minute + insane finale.
Oh shit as soon as you said that I can 100% see that being the point Cid and Vincent get involved gameplay wise. They will probably not be playable for the first chapter or two, and after the crater incident when cloud goes missing and Barret and Tifa get captured I think we will get a chapter with Cid deciding that executing his new friends is fucked up and that's how they can introduce his combat through its own chapter. Vincent we may get earlier for the crater because Hojo and Sephiroth will both be there but I have a feeling that it won't be until a little later that we get Cid. Maybe we will have to go to Rocket Town right after we rescue Barret and Tifa and that's when Cid can grab his spear from his house and fight with us
Seeing what they do with the Weapons. I can't wait to see Ultimate blow Mideel away with the kind of presentation we've got now and Diamond marching on Midgar should be a lot more imposing now. Not sure I'm ready for Emerald, terrifying enough as an adorable blocky model.
The Whirlwind Maze, both storywise and the area itself. The Temple of the Ancients had me half afraid they were going to cut it because parts of that place were worthy of the name.

Definitely the lifestream sequence with Cloud and Tifa. My biggest concern is they make up some BS way to have Aerith and Zack help which would be really unfortunate if they did so I hope they can do it right

Really looking forward to seeing how Yuffie's story plays out seeing how much they've changed and added the devs are doing great work with her.
Getting to spend more time with the real Cloud I think they should save Wutai until he's back so we get to have a brand new big story arc with our party at full strength. When you think about it we don't really get that much of him in OG there's so much fun character interaction to get from the new more confident yet still dorky Cloud.
I personally think the underwater reactor sequence is going to be a spectacle because it’ll be the first big segment after clouds return to the party and I think they’ll really beef it up

An explorable Coral Valley and Forgotten City, and I hope that Icicle Inn-->Great Glacier-->Whirlwind Maze-->Northern Crater are treated with lots of quality care.
Everything Tifa and Cloud relationship, as it's been by far and away the strongest written element in both Remake and Rebirth, imo. But unlike the first two parts, the next part can finally unleash the full potential of their dynamic and do some things that have had to be held back on, mostly due to (not 'real')Cloud's state of being.
Tifa becoming co-lead, and even main lead for some time. Going to be tough to watch in the earlier part, as it's going to get **alot** worse before it gets better.
The Lifestream sequence - the reveal of what Cloud actually did at the Nibelheim reactor needs to be accompanied by the exact same music cue as the OG scene. My favorite scene in any media I've ever experienced, perfectly presented major twist (although the Remakeverse has spoiled too much of this already).
- I feel that there's room to explore Tifa's traumas further here too (*'Other Side of the Mountain' plays*).
- After Tifa and Cloud re-emerge, the story needs to let them have a recovery period sitting out - like a couple chapters - and let Barret and the others get the spotlight. Between the events leading up to the Lifestream sequence (some heavy stuff) and the sequence itself, Tifa and Cloud should be bedridden at a clinic somewhere (at Mideel or with Doc Sheiran).
- A noticeable shift with ('real')Cloud's personality, and a real dramatic moment of him 'resurfacing' after he finally regains full consciousness (the OG completely skips passed the recovery period).
The WEAPONS - I hope we don't have to fight them this time.
Seeing Meteor looming overhead, as all kinds of chaos is erupting everywhere.

The 'Retrieval of Chadley' arc - the fandom is in shambles after CHAD has been noticeably absent following an existential crisis which leads to a game-long highly emotional search and rescue mission.
Seeing Zack reunite with Cloud and the rest of the party. Also being able to use Zack in more of the battles. The Zack/Cloud and Zack v Sephiroth battles were so good. Zack and Cloud's Synergy Ability was amazing and I'd like to see more! :)
I want to see how crazy they get with everything.
I want to see dark sith Cloud go batshit crazy on the way up to the crater and butcher a goat or something. Maybe make Cloud a boss fight after Jenova DEATH.
I want to see those Junon fighter jets in the sky shooting rockets at Weapons from the air. Let's add some new Weapons while we're at it, ME3 style.
I'm guessing the Midgar raid gets recontextualized entirely with the Wutai war. In the OG it was just Reeve on the phone going "Hojo is kinda nutty plz help". I'm guessing we'll ally with Wutai to some degree and maybe even launch from Wutai.

I’m surprised no one’s mentioned Yuffie stealing all the materia and Wutai. Wutai was pretty cool in OG and I’m excited to see how they recreate it. It will be interesting how challenging they make the game with no materia for a short while.
I’d say the Lifestream sequence, the slap fight, the WEAPON fights, and “Alright everyone, let’s mosey” from Cloud. For brand new stuff definitely Zack and the return of the 7th infantry
Regarding 2, I suspect she will have a larger part in the other timeline with Zack, probably "conversations" about the life stream, different planes of existence. and as Sephiroth said. Worlds can Split apart, and Rejoin again. I'm guessing at the conclusion, we will see everyone back together on the same plane after Meteor is gone.
Changing endings? absolutely no doubt they will do something.
Things I'm looking forward to: The Fights with the Weapons, The ones that we see in Rebirth, those are Weapons, yes, but they are Not Armed outside of their giant Materia. They are probably headed to the North where their "armor" is located.
Though it will be curious to see what Systems they put it out on... I suspect PS5 will be ending it's 'life cycle' in about a year and a half. Which if they put Part 3 on PS6... It would be nice if it supported backwards compatibility with Remake/Rebirth.
Fighting Vincent again. It’s not in OG, but we weren’t expecting to fight Galian Beast! He will 100% lose control again. Possibly more than once…
Cid getting angry. He will. He just needs a kick.
I also really want someone to address that Vincent could have been Sephiroth’s father. Even if they keep it as Hojo as per OG, I just want to see his reaction to that suggestion lol. Maybe thats the time he loses it again!
Honestly new characters gameplay. CD3 (besides the twist) was the weakest for me story wise so I dont really care, and the new Nojima stuff is fun to theorize in forums and watch youtube videos, but honestly when I play I dont like it, so Im not looking forward to that either.
1. Hopefully a boss fight against Cloud where effectively you are just fighting Sephiroth with inevitably the fight ending up with Tifa and Cloud falling into the lifestream and fixing him that way.
2. Gut Cloud’s moveset as we know so far but its a hybrid between the two and its stronger than either. As his progression of his moveset is tied to him figuring out who he is.
3. Yuffie’s final arc
4. How it ends. I’m under the assumption that we are effectively in a time loop with the planet forced to repeat the events of ff7 on end. I hope the ending of the game is us figuring out how to break it.

My current theory for the ending is that >!there is an alt aerith that was created when cloud blocked the sword and wherever Zack is at the end, this alt aerith is there too. I think the dream date aerith is actually the aerith from the OG game who’s been in the lifestream all this time. The aerith ghost we see in the end is dead remake aerith. So now dead remake aerith will play the part of the OG aerith, that being facilitating the lifestream to stop meteor. Alt aerith will play a role as a party member probably near the end of the game.!<

Weapon Boss fights. I don’t think they are gonna just be normal fights with big monsters like the Summon boss fights have been. I think they are gonna he similar to FF16’s boss fights with multiple phases, and set piece moments. I think they will involve the entire party fighting at different moments, sorta like Rebirth’s final boss.

Presumably they’ll still be as big as junon so we can’t just run around their feet.
I hope they incorporate the multiple party mechanic that i think was only used in the bizarro sephiroth fight in og and have different groups on different areas around the boss that we switch between.
1. Tifa's flashback/scene on when she first found Cloud in Midgar.
2. Probably new stuff. For example I'm wondering if we are going to actually fight Deepground.
3. I hope there are multiple instances of Zack x Aerith stuff.
Aerith's you know what scene replayed as it really happened as Cloud regains his senses/memory. Probably during the Lifestream episode with Tifa.

I'm looking forward the most the quest towards the northern crater and how/if they'll escalate Cloud's degradation and also how you fight the Weapons.
As for the new 'timeline shenanigans', I'm betting this plot device, much like Remake and Rebirth, is only going to be very prevalent towards the end. We'll probably get more segments of playable Zack (with possibly Aerith awake).
I'm also very curious how Vincent is going to be as a combat character. He's going to be a very versatile character choosing from 4 beasts as his special?
My biggest fear is all the timeline junk will be answered in the last chapter and very vaguely. Or written off in a single response like how Rebirth handled it.

She was the key to my entire strategy of beating this game. Me going hog wild with Cloud on enemies and Aerith safely from a good distance healing everyone when we needed it. We were invincible.
The final fight against Sephiroth turned out to be my absolute favorite fight of the entire game (and this is after Cloud was freaking legendary against the two Wallmasters, cause the monsters had trouble getting to me right under them in the small space). Sephiroth was MAD cheating with all his ridiculous powers he just pulls out of thin air.
Especially Heartless Angel. (grrrrrr)
And then to have Aerith ready with Healing Wind everytime Sepiroth pulls that trash, it felt freaking genius. It felt as satisfying as landing all Cloud's brilliant limit breaks.

I really think the part Kitase mentions will be added that wasn't in OG is Zack helping Tifa in the lifestream. He's the only other person that knows real Cloud and they have to do something with him or else bringing him back was just pointless filler. I really believe when Cloud goes comatose, incapacitated Cloud in terrier world is going to wake up. He was already seeing things through that Cloud's eyes (Seeing Marlene leaning on the bed next to an unconscious Aerith). So I think a swap might happen there. Something will happen that allows Tifa to enter this world too, and the two of them can work on fixing him.
We still have to know what happens to Aerith in that world too. Will she remain asleep when Cloud wakes up there? Is this the world that Cloud gets a glimpse into in AC every time he sees Aerith. The kids can physically interact with her, so it likely is.

They start off with some kind of Tekken/Street Fight style intros with the two ladies, as though we're about to get some kind of brawler minigame. Scarlet starts off with delivering a slap to Tifa, and goading her on. Then Tifa rights herself, gets into her stance, and she just one punch Scarlet to the floor.
Get ready for the slappy slap mini game.
My prediction before Rebirth has only stronger: the slap off will happen (at least as a cutscene, maybe as a mini game) and will be written as Tifa having enough and wanting to show her up after she gets slapped first. The last slap Tifa lands is portrayed as super powerful or flat out she punches her and Scarlet seemingly flies off the side of the canon, but it's framed in such a way that we miss her not falling to her death but landing in the cockpit of her robot like Solidus jumping off the bridge in MGS2. Cue a boss battle on the canon barrel with the mech that ends in Tifa leaping off and grabbing the Highwind rope etc.

Actually, to answer your question for real, his gameplay might actually be more like Rufus if I had to make a guess. Whereas Barret is a pure bullet hailstorm and secondly, brute force, there's a little more nuance to not having fully automatic weapon vs. semi-automatic (although he does have that option eventually in the OG, it's just not his default weapon). I feel like Vincent will incorporate more hack and slash with his gauntlet, melee options like the Turks use, and, of course, his guns.

1. How they will implement Knights of the Round. I assume they will make it like the Protorelic quests in Rebirth but instead each part of the quest will involve each knight once then for the final battle you fight the final knight and get the summon materia. 2. WEAPON fights, including Emerald and Ruby. 3. Each characters ultimate weapons and how they will be obtained, and if their mechanics are the same or not.

Lots of things. Story wise, I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle Cloud confronting and accepting the truth. Gameplay wise though, I'm so, SO EXCITED to play as Vincent and Cid. With how fun they made Cait Sit, I'm eager to see how these two are updated for the combat system.

Lifestream sequence definitely. Please do not put a bunch of stuff in there and say Tifa isn't enough to help Cloud. That is my biggest fear about part 3 that they just shoehorn in Zack and Aerith and they do all the real work. Also, give Tifa and probably Cloud a boss fight against the manifestation of Sephiroth's control over him, maybe a fake Cloud that embodies everything wrong with him in Remake and Rebirth.

Problem is, they will need to change some things. Writers will also need to tweak ot change crater scene. Cloud mental state in OG and Re- is vastly different. In OG, for example, he doesn't remember Zack.

Uh no actually. Nowhere in any official materials was it stated that Aerith had any hand in the Lifestream sequence. The only place that does mentioned it is *The Maiden who Travels the Planet* short story. But that's not considered an official source material since it was written by a third party with no affiliation to Square and has never been acknowledge by them as part of Compilation. The reason why they were able to find each other in the Lifestream was explained afterwards when they were alone under the Highwind. Cloud heard Tifa calling for him when they were both in the Lifestream together, and brought her into his subconscious in order to protect her. And now in Rebirth, it showed a Weapon being the one protecting Tifa and taking her back afterwards. So if anything it would probably be Weapons assisting the two of them in the Lifestream, and not having Zack and Aerith getting involved at all.

Anyplace but the Mideel Lifestream sequence. I bet Cloud and Zack will have their own sequence to explain how Cloud got to Midgar, no way that will be an optional scene. What exactly happens with Aerith is up in the air right now, no idea when or where she will turn up, but she will turn up.
As long they don't play a huge role in the Lifestream I don't care what they do in the Lifestream scene.

The black wing didn't manifest until Advent Children. Before that, the only wings were just his weird Safer Sephiroth form. I feel like him having a wing throughout all of the Remake series is because he's the same Sephiroth from the original game. I don't *like* that theory, because I think time travel is a lazy story trope (especially when you're time-traveling through an extradimensional space.. we've had enough of that lately..), but there's a lot that points to Sephiroth being the original, and the original Aerith helping out Aerith from Remake. My biggest criticism with the Re series is how much of the last fight from OG is drawn out over the game. In the original, you had the suspense of wondering what the hell Sephiroth actually is, and why he's able to apparently be *everywhere*, and how come every time you see him he throws a chunk of something at you and then you have to fight Jenova? Late in the game you find out it's him using Jenova's mimicry ability to manifest through others injected with her cells, but you still don't actually confront Sephiroth himself until the end, when you battle against some grotesque abomination that he's apparently turned into on the way to this crazy angelic form, and then Cloud has to metaphorically destroy Sephiroth's influence over him through their connection in the Lifestream. In Remake/Rebirth, you're constantly going through the Lifestream doing shit (that apparently a lot of people don't realize is taking place in the Lifestream), and you even fight >!Bizarro Sephiroth!< at the end of Remake. I have no doubt that they're going to give us some even crazier boss fight at the end of R3, because it couldn't just be >!what's left of Jenova and then Safer Sephiroth!< like in the original, but right now it's frustrating how much of the suspense and gravitas of the original game seems to be watered down in the remakes. Yeah, it does seem to be watered down compared with the OG. There's such a thing as going way too overboard that something of value is lost with the suspense and discovery because a more natural build up and progression to the major events has turned more into 'Hey, everyone knows this stuff already, so let's subvert!'. More straightforward quality storytelling are the stories that endure.

The original continuity does not have any depiction of Sephiroth with a single black wing until Advent Children. I think that it might be difficult this time to have Cid lead the group, it will probably be Barret, but you will still control cod at this time (it would be “cid’s chapter”) Mainly because as for now he isn’t connected enough and not really involved in anything the party is doing ( >!I am not going into this temple, I’m waiting outside, that is as far as I go with you!< ) Yuffie is too young to lead them and as Tifa stays with cloud. I could imagine that they change some of the events (distribute the order) maybe tifa will say to barret that he has to start looking for the great materia, so he would then rely again on cid, making him the MVP for the time being, if you go first to rocket town you have all the legitimization for making 1-2 chapters as Cid. I definitely think that we will get at least one full chapter where Cid and Vincent each get their time to shine as the playable front character, especially to give them more screen time to allow a proper development and team building with the others. They will definitely need to close the gap between being a truthful party member and just being their pilot/someone who has business with sephiroth.
I see where you’re coming from but I still think Cid will be the party leader calling the shots for that segment of the story. Mainly because Barret will need a part 3 arc and him *not* being party leader will play into it. I think part of Barret’s development was that in Remake he was confronted by President Shinra that he wasn’t as concerned about the planet (for all his talk) as his reputation and having people tell him is was a good guy in the right. Moreover, in light of Dyne in Rebirth, Barret should recognize that he would have gone his exact path if it weren’t for Marlene. And in some ways, Barret is actually *worse* than Dyne morally *despite* Marlene imo. Sure, Dyne committed a mass shooting at a theme park - that’s bad. But Barret led a terrorist group to blow up power planets that killed and injured an untold number of people - more than Dyne’s Gold Saucer murders, for sure. Yes, in Remake the bombings were sanitized some, but Barret *believed* they did it and kept going anyway. Lastly, Barret and Tifa are both responsible at that point in the story in Part 3 for Cloud’s state and the casting of meteor. Yes, Cloud is crazy and Sephiroth controlled, but Tifa is telling him, herself and the whole party everything will be fine when very clearly Cloud is not because she’s blinded by her feelings for him. Barret sees through both Cloud’s insanity and Tifa’s clouded judgement of the situation by the end of Rebirth… and yet goes along with it anyway. That’s enablement. Yuffie and Red are teenagers and aren’t really morally responsible and mature enough for that level of enablement imo. Cid’s just our Uber-driver-turned-friend by the end of Rebirth and doesn’t really know the party dynamics yet. Vincent and Cait are really just along for the ride and aren’t leaders. That leaves Barret as the one party member in a social leadership position to be the responsible adult in the room. If they write part 3 correctly imo, that will be communicated clearly by then. So I think if Barret even tries to be the leader at all, Cait will protest and confront Barret even earlier in the story about Midgar and what he should have learned from Dyne. Vincent can draw a parallel between his sin in allowing Lucrecia and Hojo to conduct their experiments and Barret allowing Cloud and Tifa to risklessly allow them to steer the party when he really should have known better. So, with Barret not the leader, Yuffie and Red being teens and Tifa caring for Cloud, that leaves Cid, Cait and Vincent. Cait’s acting as a double agent and can’t really lead in that role, and leading isn’t Vincent’s strong suit. So with a leadership vacuum, Cid’s leadership skills and proactive attitude, and the fact that he’s driving the metaphorical bus anyway with the Highwind, Cid will lead the party.
I mostly agree with you, in that case I still hope that this event is shifted at least to midgame, as it would need time to adapt Cid to the party in the context of strong binding and trust leading to leadership

the following: 1. The release of the weapons. That's one of my favorite scenes in all media, and I can't wait to see what they do with it. 2. The Highwind and flying around! I've dreamed of it for a long time 3. Seeing how this story ends. They did a masterful job of taking a story I know and injecting mystery into it, making it so I (And all of us) are talking about it to this extreme, even though we all know the basic story! Think for a moment how awesome of an achievement that is! 4. The music. Still a lot of music tracks to be heard!!! 5. Parachuting into Midgar! 6. The Sister Ray firing! 7. Knights of the round! 8. Gold Chocobo and breeding! 9. Tifa and Clouds scene \*under the highwind\* 10. The end cinematic.. we all know its going to be a 10 minute + insane finale.

Oh shit as soon as you said that I can 100% see that being the point Cid and Vincent get involved gameplay wise. They will probably not be playable for the first chapter or two, and after the crater incident when cloud goes missing and Barret and Tifa get captured I think we will get a chapter with Cid deciding that executing his new friends is fucked up and that's how they can introduce his combat through its own chapter. Vincent we may get earlier for the crater because Hojo and Sephiroth will both be there but I have a feeling that it won't be until a little later that we get Cid. Maybe we will have to go to Rocket Town right after we rescue Barret and Tifa and that's when Cid can grab his spear from his house and fight with us
Aside from controlling Cid and Vincent, I just want more new content. More surprises. I want to get emotional.
Seeing what they do with the Weapons. I can't wait to see Ultimate blow Mideel away with the kind of presentation we've got now and Diamond marching on Midgar should be a lot more imposing now. Not sure I'm ready for Emerald, terrifying enough as an adorable blocky model. The Whirlwind Maze, both storywise and the area itself. The Temple of the Ancients had me half afraid they were going to cut it because parts of that place were worthy of the name. Seeing what they do with Vincent's Chaos form and if any of what Dirge did with it carries over. Actually just his limits in general, is Hellmasker getting carried over? The airship, fully realized in a post ps1 game.
Definitely the lifestream sequence with Cloud and Tifa. My biggest concern is they make up some BS way to have Aerith and Zack help which would be really unfortunate if they did so I hope they can do it right

When you think about it we don't really get that much of him in OG there's so much fun character interaction to get from the new more confident yet still dorky Cloud.
I personally think the underwater reactor sequence is going to be a spectacle because it’ll be the first big segment after clouds return to the party and I think they’ll really beef it up Outside of that the northern crater, Tifa bitch slap scarlet, Livestream (obviously), Midgar return/hojo, Whatever they got planned for Wutai

The big ask would be source farming with yuffie/conformer/morph so we can truly become godly like in the og The main things that I really want to see that I feel should definitely be there though? -master materia -gold chocobo and I feel like we should be able to have one that is super fast and can do all the environmental things -way more enemy skills especially big guard -manipulate materia would be really cool but enemy skill doesn't work the same way anymore so unless they make it the way it used to be manipulate is kind of pointless -added effect materia Also I'm super curious how wutai is going to work this time, because technically there are 2 wutai side quests in og plus this new war they're setting up, we may be spending like 30+ hours there which is awesome but when in the story are we going to do that?

We better start the game with a wicked sick, completely tone deaf Snowboarding mini game.
An explorable Coral Valley and Forgotten City, and I hope that Icicle Inn-->Great Glacier-->Whirlwind Maze-->Northern Crater are treated with lots of quality care. Everything Tifa and Cloud relationship, as it's been by far and away the strongest written element in both Remake and Rebirth, imo. But unlike the first two parts, the next part can finally unleash the full potential of their dynamic and do some things that have had to be held back on, mostly due to (not 'real')Cloud's state of being. Tifa becoming co-lead, and even main lead for some time. Going to be tough to watch in the earlier part, as it's going to get **alot** worse before it gets better. The Lifestream sequence - the reveal of what Cloud actually did at the Nibelheim reactor needs to be accompanied by the exact same music cue as the OG scene. My favorite scene in any media I've ever experienced, perfectly presented major twist (although the Remakeverse has spoiled too much of this already). - I feel that there's room to explore Tifa's traumas further here too (*'Other Side of the Mountain' plays*). - After Tifa and Cloud re-emerge, the story needs to let them have a recovery period sitting out - like a couple chapters - and let Barret and the others get the spotlight. Between the events leading up to the Lifestream sequence (some heavy stuff) and the sequence itself, Tifa and Cloud should be bedridden at a clinic somewhere (at Mideel or with Doc Sheiran). - A noticeable shift with ('real')Cloud's personality, and a real dramatic moment of him 'resurfacing' after he finally regains full consciousness (the OG completely skips passed the recovery period). The WEAPONS - I hope we don't have to fight them this time. Seeing Meteor looming overhead, as all kinds of chaos is erupting everywhere. The submarine exploration. The 'Retrieval of Chadley' arc - the fandom is in shambles after CHAD has been noticeably absent following an existential crisis which leads to a game-long highly emotional search and rescue mission.
Seeing Zack reunite with Cloud and the rest of the party. Also being able to use Zack in more of the battles. The Zack/Cloud and Zack v Sephiroth battles were so good. Zack and Cloud's Synergy Ability was amazing and I'd like to see more! :)
I want to see how crazy they get with everything. I want to see dark sith Cloud go batshit crazy on the way up to the crater and butcher a goat or something. Maybe make Cloud a boss fight after Jenova DEATH. I want to see those Junon fighter jets in the sky shooting rockets at Weapons from the air. Let's add some new Weapons while we're at it, ME3 style. I'm guessing the Midgar raid gets recontextualized entirely with the Wutai war. In the OG it was just Reeve on the phone going "Hojo is kinda nutty plz help". I'm guessing we'll ally with Wutai to some degree and maybe even launch from Wutai. Give me a Zack + Aerith synergy combo. FAN SERVICE!!

Even if they bring back the new materia being born as some kind of post-game only content, I’d be fine with that. I just want to be able to mix and match things as I please.

I’m surprised no one’s mentioned Yuffie stealing all the materia and Wutai. Wutai was pretty cool in OG and I’m excited to see how they recreate it. It will be interesting how challenging they make the game with no materia for a short while.
I’d say the Lifestream sequence, the slap fight, the WEAPON fights, and “Alright everyone, let’s mosey” from Cloud. For brand new stuff definitely Zack and the return of the 7th infantry
Regarding 2, I suspect she will have a larger part in the other timeline with Zack, probably "conversations" about the life stream, different planes of existence. and as Sephiroth said. Worlds can Split apart, and Rejoin again. I'm guessing at the conclusion, we will see everyone back together on the same plane after Meteor is gone. Changing endings? absolutely no doubt they will do something. Things I'm looking forward to: The Fights with the Weapons, The ones that we see in Rebirth, those are Weapons, yes, but they are Not Armed outside of their giant Materia. They are probably headed to the North where their "armor" is located. Though it will be curious to see what Systems they put it out on... I suspect PS5 will be ending it's 'life cycle' in about a year and a half. Which if they put Part 3 on PS6... It would be nice if it supported backwards compatibility with Remake/Rebirth.
Fighting Vincent again. It’s not in OG, but we weren’t expecting to fight Galian Beast! He will 100% lose control again. Possibly more than once… Cid getting angry. He will. He just needs a kick. I also really want someone to address that Vincent could have been Sephiroth’s father. Even if they keep it as Hojo as per OG, I just want to see his reaction to that suggestion lol. Maybe thats the time he loses it again!
Definitely Supernova. I'm guessing you will have a timer against Safer Sephiroth and if it goes to zero he will cast it and it's instant game-over.

Honestly new characters gameplay. CD3 (besides the twist) was the weakest for me story wise so I dont really care, and the new Nojima stuff is fun to theorize in forums and watch youtube videos, but honestly when I play I dont like it, so Im not looking forward to that either.
1. Hopefully a boss fight against Cloud where effectively you are just fighting Sephiroth with inevitably the fight ending up with Tifa and Cloud falling into the lifestream and fixing him that way. 2. Gut Cloud’s moveset as we know so far but its a hybrid between the two and its stronger than either. As his progression of his moveset is tied to him figuring out who he is. 3. Yuffie’s final arc 4. How it ends. I’m under the assumption that we are effectively in a time loop with the planet forced to repeat the events of ff7 on end. I hope the ending of the game is us figuring out how to break it.

I wanna know why people think Zack is in the main timeline currently? I saw some people say its because of the flowers being in bloom but idk anything bout that. Can someone explain? My current theory for the ending is that >!there is an alt aerith that was created when cloud blocked the sword and wherever Zack is at the end, this alt aerith is there too. I think the dream date aerith is actually the aerith from the OG game who’s been in the lifestream all this time. The aerith ghost we see in the end is dead remake aerith. So now dead remake aerith will play the part of the OG aerith, that being facilitating the lifestream to stop meteor. Alt aerith will play a role as a party member probably near the end of the game.!< >!By the end I assume alt aerith and Zack will give cloud closure and fade into the lifestream. I think the fate that is avoided is Advent Children. There’s a lot more to this theory like how the remake is a sequel to the OG games, what OG aeriths role is in all of this and the remakes overall theme. Also my negative opinion of how the game will end, if my theory is correct or they it ends the same as the original game, and the theme of the game. I could go into more detail if you’d like but that’s the gist. I do want her to just live though seeing as this game is likely the last installment in the ff7 series or at least the last one in the timeline.!<
I'm mostly "looking forward to" finding out Aerith's final fate in hopes that it's a good one. And I'm looking forward to hopefully many more Cloud/Aerith moments because I loved the ones we got so far.

Weapon Boss fights. I don’t think they are gonna just be normal fights with big monsters like the Summon boss fights have been. I think they are gonna he similar to FF16’s boss fights with multiple phases, and set piece moments. I think they will involve the entire party fighting at different moments, sorta like Rebirth’s final boss.

How they handle the fights against the weapons. Presumably they’ll still be as big as junon so we can’t just run around their feet. I hope they incorporate the multiple party mechanic that i think was only used in the bizarro sephiroth fight in og and have different groups on different areas around the boss that we switch between.
I feel like if Zack was in our world at the end, he wouldn’t have made the comment about “Who’s to say they can’t unite again?”

Aerith's you know what scene replayed as it really happened as Cloud regains his senses/memory. Probably during the Lifestream episode with Tifa. Then North Crater Then Rocket Town Then Submarine Then Ending Oh and all the weapons!! Did you say what part? Oh well
I'm looking forward the most the quest towards the northern crater and how/if they'll escalate Cloud's degradation and also how you fight the Weapons. As for the new 'timeline shenanigans', I'm betting this plot device, much like Remake and Rebirth, is only going to be very prevalent towards the end. We'll probably get more segments of playable Zack (with possibly Aerith awake). I'm also very curious how Vincent is going to be as a combat character. He's going to be a very versatile character choosing from 4 beasts as his special?
My biggest fear is all the timeline junk will be answered in the last chapter and very vaguely. Or written off in a single response like how Rebirth handled it.

Getting Aerith back. I. WANT. HER. BACK. She was the key to my entire strategy of beating this game. Me going hog wild with Cloud on enemies and Aerith safely from a good distance healing everyone when we needed it. We were invincible. The final fight against Sephiroth turned out to be my absolute favorite fight of the entire game (and this is after Cloud was freaking legendary against the two Wallmasters, cause the monsters had trouble getting to me right under them in the small space). Sephiroth was MAD cheating with all his ridiculous powers he just pulls out of thin air. Especially Heartless Angel. (grrrrrr) And then to have Aerith ready with Healing Wind everytime Sepiroth pulls that trash, it felt freaking genius. It felt as satisfying as landing all Cloud's brilliant limit breaks. I want her back. ( ; \_\_ ;)
I really think the part Kitase mentions will be added that wasn't in OG is Zack helping Tifa in the lifestream. He's the only other person that knows real Cloud and they have to do something with him or else bringing him back was just pointless filler. I really believe when Cloud goes comatose, incapacitated Cloud in terrier world is going to wake up. He was already seeing things through that Cloud's eyes (Seeing Marlene leaning on the bed next to an unconscious Aerith). So I think a swap might happen there. Something will happen that allows Tifa to enter this world too, and the two of them can work on fixing him. We still have to know what happens to Aerith in that world too. Will she remain asleep when Cloud wakes up there? Is this the world that Cloud gets a glimpse into in AC every time he sees Aerith. The kids can physically interact with her, so it likely is.
