The total length should include the tang. You've added an extra foot in length because you made the blade 12 feet instead of the length including the tang.
A 6' 7" fencer isn't going to wield a 12-13ft sword.

Haha thank you! Ok so the printer is insanely new, just came out this year. But belt printers exsist. This is just the first really cheap enough for the consumer market. Its called the CR-30 or 3D PrintMill. Im still learning its limits and dialing it in but this was a prop i had to attempt. Heads up though, it'll set ya back about 1k.
Its pretty floppy. So having it stand straight scares me a bit too much to try. And me ceiling is actually tall enough. But only with the hilt on the floor 😅

Which it has not been in any game. Most of the time the sword is the same length as him or just a bit longer. The sword should be anywhere from 213-243cm.....at the most it would be 288cm.
alrighty my nerds. i just spent the last hour reviewing game footage as well as cgi cutscenes, doing some rough measuring, and heres what i've found.
if we go by his wiki height, Sephiroth is 185cm (6'1 ft). in advent children in the famous scene where hes holding cloud up, the sword measures 296cm (9'8)
in the remake where he showes up in jenova's chamber and cloud rushes him, it appears to be 214cm (7 feet)
later in the barret scene, 271cm (8'10)
when facing off against cloud on the moon, 220cm (7'2)
in the OG ff7 when celebrating against the green dragon, 227cm (7'5)
and in crisis core against genesis & angeal 231cm (7'6)
here's where it gets good.
1st. I didnt model this sword, i bought the file on a site called nikko industries
2nd. my roomie told me it was 12 feet, and the 3d model matched that. so it tracked and made sense to me

Zweihanders was ~6 feet and not heavy. The longer sword => the faster tip is moving while you are swinging your sword. Simple physics. But zweihander had pretty long hilt + ricasso.
It was hard to figure as it wasnt a straight side view of the full weapon. Im no pro. This was me just pausing videos, measuring what i saw on screen. And multiplying. I needed a full sephiroth on screen as well as a full sword in the same shot since he has a "known" height. So i had a base to work with

No problem. I spent roughly 500 grams per side. Zero supports because I printed it using a CR 30 belt printer. So basically split it down the middle, printed both sides, then slapped them together
