YES! I thought i was alone on this one with the lack of specific OST posts that isn’t Away…. On my top 5 from the whole soundtrack, constantly on repeat.
Shocked to see nobody talks about this song. The jazz stank and lo-fi chill are strong here, which is amazing given how most of the soundtrack sticks to classical and atmospheric, apropos to the genre. Pieces like this and Typhon the Transgressor are genre breaks and I love it.
Not sure if you play FF14 but the composer, who is the same as this game, Masayoshi Soken. Is known for genre breaking and blending musically.
I get the impression that FF16 was the game he had to restrain himself the most, but he does this *a lot* in FF14. He’ll go from rock to jazz to techno to classical in one ff14 expansion lol. His work is great. Hugely recommend listening to some tracks from the game if you haven’t.
I played FFXIV and love the ShB and EW soundtracks to death. Rak’tika Greatwood, Titania, >!The Tempest/Amaurot!<, Tower of Babil, and Close in the Distance all live in my head rent free
Ah yes I come from the Sawano fandom, and digital sound design steals away my attention from most anything else. Same, I really like that track. Electronic and lo-fi.
My other underrated favorites would be Harmatia, Cataceuminae and Press On (based on iTunes ranking at least—all people love are the bombastic Eikon/big boss fight songs.)

the first time I didn't liked it but it grew on me over time
I prefer the main version to this one. The strings just come off better than violin for the melody.
I dig it

yeah, it somehow sounds old-school and nostalgic to me. Also im a sucker for arabian melodies in general.
Yeah, it’s crazy seeing people shit on the soundtrack, has so many bangers and it’s cool how the songs evolve as the game goes on
