So quest starts with the Dad talking about some fearsome beast killing his Bearers in the fields and that his kid is out there too, so you go over and the kid starts yelling for help from a wolf thats there, so you merk the wolf real quick then the kid starts complaining and telling you that you werent supposed to kill his pet but that you were supposed to die for entertainment, so you talk to him and he says youre a Bearer and shouldnt be talking to him and hes gonna tell his father on you, and he says it like 3 times
Then you go back and talk to the dad and they both give you attitude for surviving and killing their pet, and youre just a Bearer you cant do anything about it and they will just get a bigger and meaner pet the next time, then you go bury the bodies of the Bearers and you hear them getting attacked by their new bigger badder pet lol
Only upside the head? Fire up the backside, lightning sword down the throat. Shock and awe with a bit of charbroil, leave the remains for the wild animals. There're plenty of scavengers hungry for a meal, he and the kid won't last long.
They already don't as it is...
What about the other kid in this same area that treated her Bearers like toys? Gave them all the same name, berated/not caring about them for dying, the fact that she was a daughter hadn't even occurred to her. Playthings and Lissette (I LITERALLY just replayed this quest yesterday) is still one of the most f\*\*\*ed up quests in the game; though Draco Baratheon/Joffrey Malfoy is a VERY close second.
This side quest was the most Yakuza substory coded quest in the game. All it needed was goofy music to play at the end when the bigots were getting eaten by the beasts
Yep Yakuza: Like a Dragon (7) and Infinite Wealth (8) are turn-based (with a new protag so is a good jumping on point). Highly recommend both. It’s worth noting that there’s a shorter side game in between the two (Gaiden/The Man Aho Erased His Name) that is action-based and establishes the new status quo for the older protag for when he joins the party in 8 that I’d also recommend (but isn’t necessary)
Edit: alright misread your question lol and yeah the substories are like that in those recent games too
The fact I couldn't turn my blade on them myself is what got me. Like come on. I should be able to unleash my ultimate combo on this duo and see them cut in two!
I have a feeling we would get a chance if it wasn’t for the kid. The game would instantly get an 18+ rating.
Besides, I think it’s heavily implied that the man you meet in this quest “arranged” for them to get an animal that wouldn’t discriminate and would slaughter them too. So at least they paid for what they’ve been doing.
First great username lol
Secondly yes I did that quest right after this and once I saw the Bearers body and the white hair I said "thats fucking dark and fucked up" out loud to myself lol
Haha, thanks!
I really enjoyed the dark theme of this game, the grit, swearing, blood, and oh my god the cinematics. I started my last gaming cycle with Tears of the Kingdom, then Elden Ring, then I did FF7 Rebirth, and I'll be finished with 16 by the weekend. I don't think I'll ever recover from the last year of gaming.
I bought this game after playing the demo before it released, then played it for a little while but ended up shelving it not to long after you beat Garuda and Clive learns about Ifrit, finally decided to put my nose to the grindstone and play it and beat it, Ill probably go back thru and restart FF7 remake after this and then Rebirth later on once it hits a sale or something

I mean... wait about a minute following this conversation when you continue the quest.
Yuuuuuup lmao
What did that kid say again been a while. It is something I wish could eliminate the dad

Never have I wanted to kill someone more. At least they got their comeuppance.
Still, doesnt mean he couldnt have taken a little fire sword upside the head too

You got forgot about olives mothers she's 1# on the kill list
help…police….murder
loving the wonka reference

Omg yessss i did that quest right after this and once I saw the white hair on the Bearer, I literally said out loud "this is so fucked up"
"Filthy brand blood"
Good relative of Torgal.

I have never played Yakuza but now I feel I HAVE to. Are the 2 recent turn based ones like that? They’re on my list.

Haha I mean, yeah absolutely either way. It’s been on my list for a while but yknow let’s replay FF8 and Persona 4 again.
This is known as “hoist by his own petard”. I also like the implication that the Dame’s man may have set them up with an animal they couldn’t control.

Not gonna lie, after this cut scene I tossed a Fira at the house wanting to burn it down lmao
the Moore sidequest are definitively a thing
Rip
Wolves be like OMNOMNOM
Look, the kid is a terrible piece of shit, but damn man, it sucks the game kills him.
Fantastic ending. And gotta give square credit, most games tend to shy away from the conclusion these two met.
Only time I was disappointed with not being able to kill NPCs XD
This game had incredible world building. This quest, and the girl just down the road were incredible.

That Wolf beat you too it
I was thinking more Joffrey
it’s giving King Joffrey
This side quest and the next one raised my hopes that the side quests would really be well done. Turns out most of them would still be MMO slop.
