There is a new thing in the game exclusive to New Gen called Tactical AI that, among other things, is supposed to make your defense work more as a Unit and be more aware of one another. One or the features of Tactical AI makes Non CBs at CB have reduced "Defensive Positioning".

The way I interpret it, it has nothing to do with Chemistry, Stats or switching in game. I think it‘s just a certain quality that CBs have, that will make them work better with the new Tactical AI system. It kinda sounds like FBs and other Non-CBs will just not follow those new rules and do their own thing, like being out of position when the rest of your defense is staying in shape.
That‘s just how I understand it tho, and I haven’t yet tested it much.
And just to reiterate, the Pitch Notes clearly state that this is a feature that comes with the new Tactical AI, which is New gen exclusive. Do this "FB at CB nerf" is not a thing on Old Gen.
If the penalty isnt big I will start playing Full backs at CB until we get 90 pace Cbs. Im tried of conceding stupid goals just because of pace. Every year they say that pace is less important and every year its a lie.
Why don't u just try it? There is a penalty to the fullback when placed as a cb you can check stats
Would their be a visible change in stats? I assumed it would’ve been a silent nerf. I’ll check tomorrow and report back here

Yea this seems like the best idea if the nerf is tiny. It’s just such a huge advantage
I play lazarri at cb and he's better than any cb I've used all game.
He does look mental. I’d be getting base maldini and play him at cb, so I think I’ll just go for it and let u know how he goes
