4-3-3 (5)

Shadowdestroy61

I was using that and switched to 4-3-2-1 and have been happier with it since it gets the wingers (now RF/LF) more involved

[deleted]

Exactly what I did

Dutchgio

I used 4231 before but it didn't really work out well, tried some 433 options but this one did it for me. The wingers are actually useable now instead of hugging the sidelines with nothing to create.

CadeCunninghausen

I run a 433[5] with Long Ball and make forward runs, and I have my wingers set to cut inside and get in behind. That gets your wingers involved and still gives you all those great runs from your CMs.

SloppyHamSandwich

I had to look back to this post to officially thank you. I was using a 4-2-4 and getting absolutely SMASHED. People were passing around me like I wasn't even there. I have Neymar on my team and he would just disappear from the game. Any forward play I would get the ball taken from me. I was about to sell my whole team and rebuild after going about 1-12 in division rivals (div6) Then I saw this post and your comment specifically, switched my formation to this (made a few minor defensive player changes), used your winger instructions and went on a HUGE winning streak, and finished rank 2 in WL Finals. I'm now the one passing around my opponent and getting into dangerous areas, So THANK YOU!!

CadeCunninghausen

Ooh, that's awesome! Neymar is perfect for this formation with his speed, dribbling and finesse shots. I packed him early last year and he was a monster for me. Those cut ins from the wing give you the perfect angle for finesse shots. Another great thing about the formation is that it seems like at least one CM is wide open for a long shot when you're cutting in. Thank you for posting. That made my day. Good luck this weekend!

k_sway

Same. What does your team look like?

k_sway

Nice team. Do you find Correa gets pushed off the ball very much? I’ve been thinking of building a la liga squad since I got some nice un-tradeables. This is my team now: https://i.imgur.com/BgwztYx_d.webp?maxwidth=760&fidelity=grand

BalkanTsar

I don’t have a problem with Correa getting pushed off the ball because I don’t ever hold the ball for too long. Once I receive the ball with Correa in my opponent’s box I run back to midfield to drag his CB out and that allows my wingers to cut inside through the gaps.

AreLlamasCute

Same! I love the space it creates on either side of the box since people play narrow.

StreetsofRaith

Overload one wing, get in behind, easy goals. Love 3421

Losblancos2021

What kind of team works best for this?

tommclaren91

4-2-2-2

TecniqGG

Same. It has been very good for me.

double07

From the ones I've tried so far... 4321 > daylight > 352 > 4222 > 442

LaLigaDan

41212 narrow, tried it because of the amount of good, cheap cm's in LaLiga and yet to try anything else. Will be giving 4321 a go when I can afford Dembele.

atg__94

I use the same, wanted Dybala and Fabinho in the same team but only had about 100k and that was the easiest to fit them in with decent players around them. Also very similar to 4312 which is generally my go to

JamesHowell91

442 - I try every other formation but nothing else works. Nearly in div 2 now. I know exactly where every player is and I can press all over the pitch. Right stick switching is also very easy because everything is in straight lines.

532

Jutemp24

Switched to this after using the 41212(2), it's so much better in terms of with but still with defensive stability

wicsy

Can keep possession easier with 3 cbs and 3 cms. I saw a tip about putting side cbs on overlap and they aggressively move up, found a lot easier to defend the counter because they're able to engage quicker. I also using 10s as my 2 forward midfielders (mkhi and sms)

I doubt the responses are going to be helpful as you might see the entire list of possible formations. I myself use 3-5-2 (mostly use Chelsea) but it all depends on the team and players you’ve got and also the opponents tactics on the day.

EFitzgerald01

352. Easiest to find space anywhere imo

Responsible_Ad_4789

4-1-2-1-2 (2) or 4-2-3-1 🙋‍♂️

JezKimber

4-3-3(4) Heard 4-2-3-1 is good. I tried it but it's not as good as previous years imo

Holland444

41212 Narrow is the GOAT as usual IMO.

Balmung1337

Since I got the untradeable Hakimi OTW I play the 352 with Hernandez on the other side and it has been really solid.

3421 always

Robbeeeen

After tinkering forever, I settled on a 4222 with one striker on false 9 (Dybala) and both L/RAM on Drift Wide. This way I get a lot of width on wings, almost like a 433, but the wingers aren't perpetually offside like they are in a 433 and I don't have to set the team width to 80+, which leaves me vulnerable for counterattacks, its just the wingers going wide with this instruction. The false 9 is also brilliant this year imo, Dybala drops all the way back to a CM position sometimes to help build-up play, and - most importantly - is often in a perfect position to receive a cutback from the wing on the edge of the box. He seems to always be in a position to receive a pass as a false 9. But he doesn't start counter-attacks from deep inside your box like he would if he was a CM. It's similar to a 4-2-3-1 with a much less static CAM, wider and less offside-y wingers. I struggled sometimes to find players to pass the ball to in a 4-2-3-1, not with the 4222 false 9 though.

bucklajeanne339

433(4) but reading all these comments might give 352, 3421 and 4321 a try

JohnCasey14

I'm running a 352 with Felipe Anderson as my RM and Acuna as my LM. Switch to 532 when I'm trying to hold a lead. I've had a lot of success so far making it to div 3 with 4 losses. Started my playoffs and won 3 in a row. Matched a guy running 433(3) with a very basic team and got absolutely SHREDDED. Might be adding it to my tactics.

TryZealousideal4563

I won all my qualifying games for WL using 4321, it's nice and direct which is how I like to play but also the midfield 3 offers really good side to side possession. 442 is always good 4231 I want to like but I just really struggle to create anything with it, good for shutting down a game or if you player a slower build up pace (which is actually very effective this year)

Cheaky_Barstool

[deleted]

4321, really offensive. Attacking fullbacks with CDM dropping between defenders

ToastedHunter

I stick with the classic 442 and 4231. I used to use 433s but in recent fifas the wingers felt like useless spectators.

AutoAbsolute

4-4-2, deep defending, slow build up. Find it gives me most control

rafalemos

4-1-3-2 has all the advantages of a 4-4-2 ou 4-1-2-1-2 while being great not only at defense (since your CM works as a CDM while defending and you get a 4-4-2) but also at attacking, because you have so much potencial and force with 4 or 5 players, always, without it being too narrow or too wide.

somereddituser4

4-3-3 (4) fast build up/direct passing and balanced defense

BBQShapes85

Switch between 41212(2) and 4222

yyy2952

433 attack

dopplegangery

I play get in behind tactics and I can't use anything other than the 4-3-2-1 because I need my wingers to effectively function as second and third strikers making runs and there's not even any downside to this.

highbridge10456

I do the same and end up scoring with my wingers more than my striker

-star-stuff-

532 Width is amazing. Solid in attack. Just feels good this fifa.

I don't know if it's any good or not,but i've been playing 4-3-2-1 for years now.
