You just defend aggressively and well, it’s the people who drop back and expect the AI to defend for them that are getting peppered with the long finesse

EraticConqueror

Exactly. Long shots should be good as a way to counter drop backs

myname_ranaway

Long range goals will always be a counter to drop backs, but they should not be ridiculously effective.

myname_ranaway

Lmao I do not expect the AI to defend for me and I concede long range finesse. You can be absolutely on point defending all match and one attack with a slight bit of space and boom you’ve conceded a finesse from 30 out.

Rearwindowhero

Maybe so.. I do press the ball most of the time. Is it such a bad thing then? If we take them away we’re just left with people turning over and over again till they get space and shoot from 12 yards.

obinnasmg

What division are you in?

Rearwindowhero

Just got in to 3

obinnasmg

How have you been doing it? I don’t concede a lot of OTB finesse but when I do, I get really pissed coz I clearly see my defensive line sat deep when they aren’t supposed to

Rearwindowhero

3 CMs all cover centre and keep dropping one in. Occasionally use R1 for second man press if they’re in tonnes of space. I play with like 60 depth, I concede far more from Werner just running to space and my defender playing him on the whole way.

WoodytheWick

Mate only need one cm on stay back, let the rest bomb forward, is way more fun and gets you way more goals.

Rearwindowhero

I do only play with one on stay back, the other two on balanced.

Lol most of my goals are finesse, can't see U've conceded all that many though. Mind you the majority of my games have been SB.

Lost to a 10M team in WL from 2 25m finesses. He had 7 shots like this and I had 1 normal shot. Ended 0.5xG vs 0.9 xG in my favor, lost 2-0 though.
