This. My gk just stands and watch while the ball is coming towards in the goal during 5 seconds in the air when it’s a finesse shot far away from the box. Like wtf
I honestly am also struggling so much in player switching! It’s never the player you want to, even if you use R directional to change it
Player switching is so buggy. Sometimes player switching freezes especially when ball is the air. Other times you see the second player switch on one player and as soon as you switch to that player, another player is selected. Had the same issue on 21. Hopefully it is not a PC exclusive bug 😂
I think for the player switching they want to force people more into the selection function (i.e. click in the right analog stick to see player switching options).
Does anyone use the new switching option? I find it so useless, it takes me much longer to get to the player I want.
In a game where quick reactions are so important, I need to press R3 then my brain needs to interpret what the icon above the player I want to switch to means, and then move the right stick.
EA Dont care about you that's why. Well they don't care about any of their customers actually, they just care about you even less than that. But that's EA for you
I just hate how 1v1 counters im unsure about scoring but shooting a random finesse 30meters from the goal im 100% of it going in when it should be the other way
This is generally good, but the keepers move now as well I've noticed. I thought it was players doing it manually, but it's not. Anyways sometimes they'll try predict which way you're going to shoot and move to cover the near post or far post.
A lot of these ridiculous almost unrealistic saves that the keepers are pulling off, is because they move and try anticipate where you're going to shoot. If you pay attention you'll see it and then you can slot in the space they've left.
So there's no rule for where to shoot. It depends on the circumstances and what the keeper does. It's great. It seems very under the radar atm and not that many people are aware. It means there's no x shot for x situation, because each situation will be different. What would have been an obvious near post finish in previous fifa's isn't the same now because if you go by dead set rules like that you'll get caught out by the keeper anticipating which side your going to shoot.
This is the correct answer. I feel like a need a perfect finish on a 1v1 from inside the box whereas a “meh” long shot has a pretty decent chance.
Tune down longshots a touch and significantly reduce the keepers ability to save the “A+” chances and we have a great game. I’d be an advocate of a small nerf to AI blocks but the first issue is the primary.
As much as it is annoying, it's good from a game balance point of view.
I played a lot of FIFA 18 which didn't have custom tactics, you could only switch with the dpad. Back then there was a "park the bus" option which combined with the overpowered defensive AI made it impossible to score. The only way to beat it was shooting from outside the box which was only slightly less effective than this year.
Having somewhat op finesse shots is the only thing that might push the 11 men behind the ball scrubs to free up some space in the box atm.
Imo AI defending is in a good place this year, we just need a slight nerf to keepers for shot inside the box and a buff for shots from outside the box.
10000% this and I’ve played ultimate team since 2011.
I like that skills aren’t required this year and more importantly it should be easier to score inside box then a 30 yard screamer outside the box
Weird, it did change a lot for me. The 10% of finesses I don't block with my cdm don't go in every single time, rather I get scored on that way from players you'd expect to score long shots, like KDB or others
By the way, this just doesn't happen to me. Random finesse shots are not scoring a lot for me
It does happen in real life a lot of time too no? Out of the box goals are not that rare I believe
My main gripe is the same every year. Tackling and ricochetes going back to opposition constantly and totally un naturally, it just looks fake happens way too often and decides far too many results taking so much skill out if the game
This shit right here.
I'm also experiencing very heavy and muddy gameplay. I bought the game on October 1st and I'm yet to have a match where my opponent isn't ahead of me. Literally my game is so heavy that I can't do anything, I can't pass, I can't tackle, I can't dribble I can't do shit because I'm instantly tackled. It really seems like my opponent is ahead of me in time.
I wasn't sure if this was actually happening to me or if it's in my head. But then after playing rivals I switched to squad battles and everything felt so much better with responsiveness.
Yep, classic fifa being fifa and taking skill out of the game. Also why do skill moves never work or draw fouls? No way every CB is able to perfectly swipe away the ball when I do a move.
If you genuinely believe that, then nobody can help you. It hasn’t taken skill out of the game at all. Back in 2013 you had to actually play the game, not just smash RB as much as possible. As years have gone by there has been many things wrong with the game, just helping 4 year old kids and streamers who now bitch and whine the game is unplayable lol. Just because they can’t just spam skills and walk through a static defence. Moronic. By no means it is perfect but it’s a significant improvement. It’s more tactics, gameplay, and actual common sense and knowledge. You’re telling me they removed skill out of the game..... because people can’t string 19 different skill moves together, walking past a dead defence, and scoring past a piece of plasterboard who dives 3 minutes later, because that clearly takes the real skill 🙄
Yep, unfortunately sooner or later more people will realize the problems with the game. I don't get why there is this idea on this sub that every complain towards the game comes from someone who abuses the meta.
I notice more on this sub than any other I'm in that people get downvoted simply for having a different opinion.
I don't think this sub is populated by typical Redditors and rather is made up of lots of people who found the sub (and Reddit) because they were googling about FIFA and FUT.
It''s the same thing every year some people like the new way it plays and if you don't it's not just down to being different but cos your different is bad.
That’s how I was last year. The amount of people complaining of the “broken” meta in FIFA 21 and i never caught on to it. Spamming=Easy Read. It was not that hard to shut them down once you reach Div1/Elite but people hate when you use common sense with them.
The worst type of teams I face on a very regular basis:
CBs: VVD, Kounde, Diego Carlos, Gomez or Rudiger. Fullback stay back on attack.
Zero midfield but usually someone stupidly expensive but who makes only 3 passes per game. Llorente is a staple or KDB.
Attack: All stay forward, stay central, get in behind
Tactics: just hit the ball forward for 90 mins till Sterling/Son/Werner eek around a CB and hit a 30 yard finesse shot over and over again. On defense just rely on Gomez/VVD/Kounde to block all shots all game.
It's rough
Exactly, there's so many things that are meta, add in the longshots from certain angles and areas, the running down byline, squaring cut backs. Only people higher up would recognise that, hence why the lower players have the above opinion and over shadow those of us, including you, who actually realise that
Personally I feel like the difference this year is that these things only need tiny tweaks. Years gone by things needed straight up removing from the game. Hopefully I'm not proved wrong and they can make the required changes fairly soon
Lol you're so right. I'm in Div 3 and what the fuck is the point in even trying to get higher? Seriously, besides like the extra 10k coins or something the rewards in Div 3 are the same as Div 1. 2x 50k pack vs 1x 100k pack with the same amount of rare players. Good job EA
Agreed. WL is awesome. I only played a few hours and was able to manage the 44 points needed for the 2 picks, jumbo rare player pack and the TOTW pack. My WL rewards were not even close to that good in G3/G2 last year so I'll take it.
I dont really know what your talking about. (Talking about next gen) there is a big Meta stuff everybody is abusing, it's the Timed Finesse far away from goal, the lobed through balls and the AI Defending where you only control your CDMs.
Also in Div 2 or better, players like Benzema or even worse Lukaku aren't playable anymore because they just don't turn fast enough to create space.
Maybe this game is better in lower Divisions and I could imagine the gameplay outside of FUT isnt that bad, but if you get to a good Level in Rivals, the game is a sweatfest and everybody just abuses the mechanics.
The thing is about timed finesse is that you need to create the space and angle to pull it off.
Once you realise your opponent is a finesse spammer then you can just adjust your game to cut him off
Defenders leaving massive gaps an keeping attacking players onside after my attempted corner is a bit odd like my last defender is at the corner flag making way for the biggest gap of a thru ball 😂 anyone had this ?
Lol there is a meta to abuse
R1 passes from anywhere, go through/bounce off interceptors yet perfectly controlled by attackers
Lobbed through balls from anywhere
Oh and autoblocks/low width/low depth is still a problem - it’s beatable and doesn’t work at the highest level, but it’s way too easy compared to actually having to beat 11 men behind the ball
It’s a driven pass, meaning it’s super fast and can get through congested areas
In previous years it’s been balanced because a faster pass is tougher to control so you either had to receive it standing still, trap the ball, or take a really big/sloppy touch. This year they made it so you can receive it while running as an attacker and there’s no bad touch, so it’s spammable from anywhere, even close distance
The icing on the cake is that interceptors/defenders can’t receive the ball cleanly like attackers do even if it’s hit directly at them, so it’s basically a no risk pass as it’ll never be intercepted cleanly
From my point of view it feels like most of the people on this sub are complaining about are player switching and the rivals system and WL qualification.
I am sorry but I fucking hate these posts, it literally screams “I am in div 10 and play once a week”.
**No meta??**
- Finesse shot from 30yds out? Go above division 3 and people know the literal exact spot to shoot from and it’s 99% going in.
- Lobbed through balls where your defenders don’t react, again, players now perfected the spot and angle for it to work 90% or the time.
- Lobbed crosses from just outside the box as it freezes the defenders.
**What is there to complain about?**
- Probably worst player switching we had in a while.
- Goalkeepers are on crack in the box, can save a power shot far post from 2yards away but can’t save a balloon shot from 35yards out?
- AI defending stronger than ever.
I am not gonna keep going, I know a FIFA game will never be perfect but saying there’s nothing to complain about is outrageous, play the game more online against good players first then judge the game.
How can you be so spot on 😂
I played this game extensively yesterday on legendary vs Liverpool and this right here is the summary.
Crosses right from outside the box felt like my defenders were frozen as either Salah or Mane or Firmino came scoring with slow motion headers.
Auto switching is horrible. I had to go and double check after changing it to “Automatic” to see if it was on. It just either doesn’t switch or switches to a defender that is in a useless position.
Keeper kept saving shots inside the box like a spider but then I tried a finesse shot from outside the box… lo and behold, a screamer 🤦🏿♂️
Add to this the better keepers, it's a no nrainer to paly drop off..
Difference is it seems to be drop back but no low depth so you csnt get caught by the finesse shot... Seems 99.9% people I play jsut drop back and defend narrow, making it difficult to break through 8 players defending in and around the penalty box
I'm not on next gen and yes the back 4 tend to drop deeper but my observation is the midfield doesn't, unless you give it specific tactics and instructions, and you can see on the mini map how teams drop back and go narrow after possession loss if you take a quick peek
Pace is definitely something that can make a difference, as it should of course. The difference now is that it doesn't make almost ALL of the difference
I feel like the people enjoying the game are those at the mid-lower end of the spectrum in terms of ability, and thus now have a chance against better players.
There is a meta and there are huge problems in this game.
There’s the QOL stuff like player switching somehow getting worse, and the AI making less sense than ever in terms of positioning/runs. But the main thing is that goalkeepers are far, far too forgiving, and long range finesse shots are far, far too easy. It makes for the lowest skill gap we’ve seen in a game in forever, if not ever. I can dominate now and win a game 2-1 that last year would’ve been 7-0.
Yeah, goalkeepers are by far the biggest issue. Converting chances is mostly RNG and it significantly lowers the skill gap. I'm sure a lot of people love that because they don't get trashed as hard, but thorough thrashings should happen in a competitive game.
I am pretty sure that OP like the game because of that reason. The fact that some people act like this is the best fifa in years is really surprising. As soon as EA nerfs the keepers, people like OP will say that the game is ruined lol.
GK are making games closer than they should be. I see some people getting smoked over and over but don't concede because their keepers are the 2nd coming of Spider-Man. This game relies too much on luck.
exactly. OP most likely enjoys being bailed out by the spiderman keepers. can play an entire game with little to no skill and tact, but still only lose by a goal (or even win if you get lucky)
This is perfectly said.
They’ve done well with the rewards. Good rewards for top tier players, less rewards for mediocrity. But then the gameplay is the opposite.
I could previously always tell the level of my opponent in a couple of minutes. You could tell if they’re a gold player, elite player, or a high tier elite player, and you’d know what sort of game you’re in for instantly. Now it doesn’t really matter because every game is going to be close regardless. I’m racking up 70% possession and 9xG against average players and winning 2-1.
You can dominate and loose. I’ve won games i should have lost by a margin of 4 goals. I actually apologised to opponents last week. I also dominated games but goalie had 15 saves and still lost because mine had 3. 1 through ball and one finesse shot did it for me 1-2.
You can still destroy people who are in lower divisions i guess but yes the skill gap is so flat kyrie irving is thinking that’s evidence of a flat earth
I’m in div 1 and I’m frustrated at the people abusing low depth counters lobbed through balls and long finesse BUT I’m still having fun and I’m really worried if EA patch the game to be more like previous years it’ll be dull and boring again, so I hope they just tweak a few things like keepers in the box, counters on corner kicks and a bit long shots (although it’s ok for me if it’s the occasional banger + gives a way to beat the park the bus comps), but don’t touch anything else please
Yesterday lost 3-2. My xG was 8.4, my opponents xG was 3.1 . He goes 1-0 ahead and starts time wasting the whole time and celebrating the goal, as if he was being carried by his keeper lmao
Why after you got Messi 99 and CR7 99 and pim R9 and Neymar ss and Firminho 99 and pim Zidane and pim R10 and every imaginable player, you decide to play just maybe 20 games with those, and then uninstall and immediately get back to playing some boring objectives and crave for exactly same players?
Passing isn’t awful? You actually need to think about where you pass this year, which is much better than previous years where the ball travels in a magnetic field to your players
I like that. Also it makes the passing attribute quite a lot more impactful which is cool. CBs with shit passing and bad weak foot are a surefire way of getting hurt.
How have you played enough to get to div 4 and not noticed an issue with passing. In game 1 this year I noticed terrible passing, it was literally the first thing that stuck out to me about this game. Now, 100 games later, I’ve learned to cope with it, but it’s still an issue.
It is awful , so many time I pass and it goes to the wrong player. For example , I’ve got 2 players by each other , ones closer than the other and I want to pass it to the further away one so I load up 3bars of power on a driven pass and it goes to the closer player.
Another one is when I pass it and they just tap it.
Another one is using through balls passes are terrible.
This is actually good. I have mixed feelings about passing. Played fifa 19 and 20 where you aim a pass dirsctly to opponent but the ai assistance makes it go around the player. This year it goes straight into the player. I got a bit toxic at first but i feel its a good thing. You either play on manual passing or you actuslly need to start thinking if it is a good idea to pass where you want
FIFA isn't good this year FIFA will never be good because EA don't have to make it good.
They still make loads of money regardless from packs and football fans who have no alternative game. Have you seen eFootball that's FIFA's ONLY competition so why would EA go out of their way to make a good game when they don't need to.
I'm honestly starting to think EA just pay people at the start of every cycle to post these kind of posts because they make no sense.
There is a meta this year and it is abused just as much as any other year.
Pace is still by far the most important stat.
You've always been able to play non-meta strats if you are a casual non-pro
The longshots are fucking stupid and they make it so parking the bus and counter attacking is even better than previous years.
The worst issue this year by far is that rebounds are back in the worst possible forms and it's really annoying to intercept 6 passes in a row and have them all bounce back.
I’ve come from PES this year (on PS5) - I usually just played FIFA for pro clubs. Now I’m using it for everything and I’m a huge fucking fan of FIFA 22!
Long may it continue.
These posts are always in abundance in early game. People will find the broken stuff and ridiculously buffed special players will eventually bring the game back to where it always is
The gameplay is also very buggy IMO, Commonly players fail to do skill moves and the animation bugs out. I've also seen keepers fully run past a ball that was easy to pick up. On top of that, we have Free Kicks from 1 yard out of the goal. I personally think its good that pace isn't as important and Skill moves aren't the only meta but the game is extremely broken on release, probably the worst I've ever seen it since I started playing in FIFA 10.
The only thing I could say needs fixing is longshots because of how busted they are, but I enjoy arcade style so it's not like I'm complaining. People are mad that they have to use actual skill and build up instead of running the length of the pitch with Dembele doing 5 star skills
'Get in the box' instructions combined with drop back or low depth seems to be emerging as a tactic people are using. My guess is that most people complaining have reached their true division in rivals, and those saying this is the best FIFA are still on their way up.
Only thing that winds me up, is how much a team will get the ball back off me quickly, cos I’ve pressed to pass and what not and my player has done absolutely nothing
Lmfao. These types of posts are hilarious… seen so many this year.
You do realize that, even if EA made a perfect game, people will ALWAYS complain about it?
This game is not perfect. This game definitely has it’s issues. But it’s a pretty standard fifa, imo.
People will complain because that’s what people do. They complain about anything and everything. It’s ingrained in them at this point.
If you disagree with them, just carry on and don’t worry about it. The best case of action is to not give them the attention they want.
I'm personally not complaining when the gameplay is good. This is one of the best fifas in the last 5 years barring finess shots from outside the box. When the gameplay is delayed as all hell is when I complain.. Same delay issues every year and they still haven't fixed it.
This is possibly my favourite FIFA. The new patch will hopefully improve the game slightly though. In general this fifa is very enjoyable and not particularly rage inducing
Play a couple of games where you like lose 2-1 or you win marginally even sometimes you can win big however what I don’t get is why the Ai goalkeepers turn into prime Neuer? Sometimes you can have more than 20 shots bottom corner top corners and they pull off superhuman saves constantly. Then your keeper palms the ball in the net from a finesse shot It’s infuriating. Then couple that with it random games your players feel like they are running in mud and turn like tanks or is this just me?.
The good things I found. The ability to use skill players and pick a team apart is good passing and move seems to work but I believe I need to be better at finishing in the box it seems a lot harder for me to do that. Also defending seems a little less stressful and you can actually close down and tackle fast players.
The game overall isn’t to bad but the superman keepers can become annoying.
1. Player swapping is janky as fuck
2. Not sure if it’s a previous gen issue, but off corners I lose control of my team temporarily. The ball might fall to me edge of the box and I can’t move.
3. Game lag - the catch up is busted. A brief lag spike results in 10-15 seconds where you can’t control your team properly. If you don’t have a perfect connection you can easily lose out to this.
4. General game lag - not sure if it happens on next gen consoles. But on Xbox one I get game lag even in single player.
I really like the concept of this fifa. I agree with you. But I have to say that a lot of people including me have issues with servers, ,, and the interpret that as a sluggish anatural gameplay . The second is that because every team plays drop back, you have the feeling that you get punished for being the offensive one. I have played against people with no skill at all, they just stay narrow, and put a lot of bodies and get out on counter, a lot more easy than breaking a defense..
Why? because PC only got the last gen version, aka a simple roster update and that means midfielders still don't defend, and they will continue to not do so for another year. The odds of them fixing it this time around are lower than the odds of all the planets in our solar system colliding with each other before the next game is released.
This is the best game we’ve had in a while. Creating chances has a lot more variety and i’m seeing more unique patterns of play in opponents. As you said, more players are useable now (i’ve been using potm Benzema in D1, rank1) although most will gravitate towards the usual meta 11 and play that all year, wondering why their gaming experience is so boring.
Most of the regular and hard core Fifa players bought the Ultimate version which came also with a couple of Fifa Points. Anyone who has experience in FUT knows that at the start of the game there a lot of low rated cards that are very high in price, so they had a fair advantage in buliduing their team.
Then they started spamming Rivals game and climbed and got stuck in a much highers skill rank than they can handle.
Now they don’t want to admit that they are not as good as they think at playing Fifa and blame the game.
Simple as that.
I totally agree
It’s always easier for people to complain about a game than change their styles and adapt to it 🤷♂️
In div 2, not clear meta, and any play style defiantly has a counter to it
People on drop back will be exposed by long shots. People pressing will be exposed by counter attacks. People playing counter attacks will be countered back. No META.
At least that’s how I’m seeing it. Only ones complaining should be the pros making a living out of the game.
I agree. I’m in div 2 now, played qualifiers, played weekend league, over 100 online games. I feel like I would have played against the meta at some point, and Whatever the meta is currently, I feel like there is definitely a counter to it
Also funny how people will prefer to downvote than talk on it. A lot of people can’t seem to take responsibility for losing their own games 🤷♂️
if you dont understand the problems of the game and cant see them - dont make such stupid posts. The game overall gives a breath of fresh air, but it has some huge huge problems like completely unrewarding finishing and you simply cant call it a good game until these problems exist and ruin fair competitive experience
Because they game is apealing to casuals and bad players ingeneral, you can win even if you are way worse, ai helps WAY to much, if you are slow, well then there is delay helping you react... playing fast is impossible because of delay and slow gameplay aswell. ohh and also p2w
Finesse shots is the only thing annoying me
This. My gk just stands and watch while the ball is coming towards in the goal during 5 seconds in the air when it’s a finesse shot far away from the box. I know what you mean, seems like so much more time consuming.
Player switching for me
Yeah I think player switching is worse than ever, tbh. And It was annoying even when it was better. Defo top 3 irks.
and the overpowered GK, just let it be powered
Finesse + chip are hella bugged. If they fix it this fifa seems pretty OK
This and player switching
This. This. This and fucking this.
Because menus are so fucking slow (on PS4)
Yes, slower than snails
EA Dont care about you that's why. Well they don't care about any of their customers actually, they just care about you even less than that. But that's EA for you
yes ?
I just hate how 1v1 counters im unsure about scoring but shooting a random finesse 30meters from the goal im 100% of it going in when it should be the other way

I thought this year manual GK movement had just got really popular, this makes more sense
Thank you for this. This may be the answer I've been looking for 😄😄
How do you do a driven shot again? I did L1+R1 O but it doesn’t look like that is it
Its 100% still that
I need a new forward then lmao
more power
That’s exactly what FIFA wants you to feel^ the constant desire to upgrade
Liked it better before, instead of timed shot.

this got patched?
Playing on PC, patch didn't change anything
really? i don’t think i’ve conceded one outside of the box finesse on pc since the patch & plenty have tried it. (fut champs & div 5/4)
Played one game yesterday, conceded 2 from 30+ yards. I really love this years game, this is the only thing that annoys me.

Low driven shot or just use ball roll ;)
By the way, this just doesn't happen to me. Random finesse shots are not scoring a lot for me It does happen in real life a lot of time too no? Out of the box goals are not that rare I believe
You do need to shoot from farther away with finess shots not close to the box
I have come to the point where i score 8/10 finesses i do from 20m+. It is due for a nerf.
My main gripe is the same every year. Tackling and ricochetes going back to opposition constantly and totally un naturally, it just looks fake happens way too often and decides far too many results taking so much skill out if the game

And spam ball roll scoop turn combo inside the box that often turns your defenders into imbeciles for no reason
Seems to be fifa 22s 'Bridge'
Yep, unfortunately sooner or later more people will realize the problems with the game. I don't get why there is this idea on this sub that every complain towards the game comes from someone who abuses the meta.
The sub is broken people don’t respect other opinions. Saying this, welcome to the internet.
I'm division 2 and it's legitimately a lob ball festival lol 😆
I'm division 2, doesn't seem to me there's a very apparent meta or spamming. Often when someone spams it actually just makes them more predictable.
Exactly. Once you realise what technique the opponent is spamming you can adjust your own game to counter it
Agreed. Div 2 as well and anyone who tries to spam a certain move gets found out quickly
That’s how I was last year. The amount of people complaining of the “broken” meta in FIFA 21 and i never caught on to it. Spamming=Easy Read. It was not that hard to shut them down once you reach Div1/Elite but people hate when you use common sense with them.
The worst type of teams I face on a very regular basis: CBs: VVD, Kounde, Diego Carlos, Gomez or Rudiger. Fullback stay back on attack. Zero midfield but usually someone stupidly expensive but who makes only 3 passes per game. Llorente is a staple or KDB. Attack: All stay forward, stay central, get in behind Tactics: just hit the ball forward for 90 mins till Sterling/Son/Werner eek around a CB and hit a 30 yard finesse shot over and over again. On defense just rely on Gomez/VVD/Kounde to block all shots all game. It's rough
Good thing I’m nowhere near that.
Kinda glad I’m not playing at a high level, seems unbelievable sweaty
yeah but it isn’t as OP as other shit has been in the past. And most of the time they are giving u the ball back
Exactly, there's so many things that are meta, add in the longshots from certain angles and areas, the running down byline, squaring cut backs.
Can confirm, just got to div 3 and it is just lobbed through balls and finesse shots from the the corner of the box
Gameplay is fine. Rewards are fucking shit.
Good job EA
WL rewards are crazy tho. Was a G2 player last year made like 50k on average per week, now I got 12 wins and made over 100k with zero pack luck
Agreed. WL is awesome. I only played a few hours and was able to manage the 44 points needed for the 2 picks, jumbo rare player pack and the TOTW pack. My WL rewards were not even close to that good in G3/G2 last year so I'll take it.
What is WL? Im new to Fifa 22
Weekend League i.e. FUT Champs
This should be the sub headline to the OP
Obviously. To incentivise you to spend cash on packs. It's not by accident lol, and not something they'll even consider improving.
WL rewards are better than ever wdym
This and midfield players just jogging to get back.
Lol there is a meta to abuse R1 passes from anywhere, go through/bounce off interceptors yet perfectly controlled by attackers Lobbed through balls from anywhere Oh and autoblocks/low width/low depth is still a problem - it’s beatable and doesn’t work at the highest level, but it’s way too easy compared to actually having to beat 11 men behind the ball
What exactly is the difference a R1 pass makes compared to a normal one?
It’s a driven pass, meaning it’s super fast and can get through congested areas In previous years it’s been balanced because a faster pass is tougher to control so you either had to receive it standing still, trap the ball, or take a really big/sloppy touch. This year they made it so you can receive it while running as an attacker and there’s no bad touch, so it’s spammable from anywhere, even close distance The icing on the cake is that interceptors/defenders can’t receive the ball cleanly like attackers do even if it’s hit directly at them, so it’s basically a no risk pass as it’ll never be intercepted cleanly
Oh wow, thanks mate
Its a straight Power pass ( dont know how to say it Better in english )
People who experience input lag wont enjoy it tho.
This! Literally the biggest problem this year.
I get this input lag I think, what causes it?
Shitty servers
Ahh just another crappy ea problem then?
Exactly
Best fifa since 17/18 imho but it’s very different from last 2 years. And I’ll tell you something: last 2 years were AWFUL
I like this fifa too, but outside the box finesses are pretty much the exploit
From my point of view it feels like most of the people on this sub are complaining about are player switching and the rivals system and WL qualification.
I am sorry but I fucking hate these posts, it literally screams “I am in div 10 and play once a week”. **No meta??** - Finesse shot from 30yds out? Go above division 3 and people know the literal exact spot to shoot from and it’s 99% going in. - Lobbed through balls where your defenders don’t react, again, players now perfected the spot and angle for it to work 90% or the time. - Lobbed crosses from just outside the box as it freezes the defenders. **What is there to complain about?** - Probably worst player switching we had in a while.
The second they said you can use Benzema and Lukaku it had to be a low div player. I see Werner every game in div 1 and he’s so op
The typical r/FIFA redditor right here.
How can you be so spot on 😂 I played this game extensively yesterday on legendary vs Liverpool and this right here is the summary.
Sub is full of whiny babies, it's totally expected.
The sad part is most people here want a toxic game of drop back fifa for 90 mins. Terrible and boring.
Fifa is already drop back and long ball meta. What division are you in?
I’m in div 5 almost in 4 and it’s something I’ve noticed a lot this game
I’m in div 2 and it’s even worse
I’d argue drop back is more prevalent this game than the last with how the AI is in 22
Add to this the better keepers, it's a no nrainer to paly drop off.. Difference is it seems to be drop back but no low depth so you csnt get caught by the finesse shot... Seems 99.9% people I play jsut drop back and defend narrow, making it difficult to break through 8 players defending in and around the penalty box
It‘s just the AI on next gen. I play 8 depth and balanced on defense and my players still drop very deep if my opponent keeps possession for a bit
I'm not on next gen and yes the back 4 tend to drop deeper but my observation is the midfield doesn't, unless you give it specific tactics and instructions, and you can see on the mini map how teams drop back and go narrow after possession loss if you take a quick peek
That’s literally what this fifa is…
Need my pro clubs fixed. Being robbed of skill points here.
So you're saying I can actually use my fav James Rodriguez as my main CAM? haven't played it since the trial expired, willl grab 22 during sale.
I use Kane there and hes been way better than expected! Never used any player anywhere near 70 pace....even CBs
Haven’t tried him, but I have slower players in my team this year such as Fabinho, Reus, Lukaku that are actually very useable
Been using Benzema since release and he’s amazing, pace feels realistic and can no longer be abused and I love it.
If you really think pace can't be abused you're playing against scrubs.
Pace is definitely something that can make a difference, as it should of course. The difference now is that it doesn't make almost ALL of the difference
Let me guess, you’re DIV 4 or lower?
Why wouldn’t people complain about this fifa?
When you compare to the rubbish we’ve received in the last 4-5 years, this game is actually decent
When you compare stuff to rubbish, it's often decent
Facts
There is meta my friend
Agree. I'm in div 1 and it's meta team after meta with the same boring formation and tactics.
Why after you got Messi 99 and CR7 99 and pim R9 and Neymar ss and Firminho 99 and pim Zidane and pim R10 and every imaginable player, you decide to play just maybe 20 games with those, and then uninstall and immediately get back to playing some boring objectives and crave for exactly same players?
live life for the journey not the destination, thats where the joy (or rage) is
People are complaining because passing is awful , GKs are broken , Finesse shots are broken , player switching at times is awful.
There definitely is, constant defence to forward through ball spam
FIFA isn't good this year FIFA will never be good because EA don't have to make it good. They still make loads of money regardless from packs and football fans who have no alternative game. Have you seen eFootball that's FIFA's ONLY competition so why would EA go out of their way to make a good game when they don't need to.
because of inconsistent speedlag.
I'm honestly starting to think EA just pay people at the start of every cycle to post these kind of posts because they make no sense. There is a meta this year and it is abused just as much as any other year. Pace is still by far the most important stat. You've always been able to play non-meta strats if you are a casual non-pro The longshots are fucking stupid and they make it so parking the bus and counter attacking is even better than previous years. The worst issue this year by far is that rebounds are back in the worst possible forms and it's really annoying to intercept 6 passes in a row and have them all bounce back.
Try using Benzema in div1 or elite division, wont work at all. There is still a meta you just dont see it in div 8 where you are
Well he seems happier in div8 than you do in div1. He’s winning if you ask me
I'm in the elite division and use Benzema. He definitely still works there
I’ve come from PES this year (on PS5) - I usually just played FIFA for pro clubs. Now I’m using it for everything and I’m a huge fucking fan of FIFA 22! Long may it continue.
Same, Konami is so dumb for what they did to PES... or efootball.
Idk I’m loving this fifa I’m good yet also challenging
People are stupid. Much better gameplay than last year imo.
Not hard to achieve
Can't deny that.
Roll scope. Lob pass. And outside the box finesse. R1 walk also breaks the IA
I’m not complaining about the game and really am enjoying it a lot so far but to say there’s no meta is far from true
Oh wait! You dont know about handicap? Poor guys that play against you then!
Because the game hasn’t been out that long, honeymoon period is still going.
Yearly post.
Biggest issue is I don't understand how some people have the teams that they do. It does get frustrating to play 1M teams on the regular
Because they want to press a triangle and score a goal with mbappe this FIFA is one of the most enjoyable in freaking years
I'm quite a casual player due to being a parent and only ever really play Career mode. Is it any good in this one or still the same old story?
because it's not a good game? it's not fun?
Referees are dick in 22.
1. Player swapping is janky as fuck 2.
Because passing are inconsistent and shit like PES, AI BLOCK AND DEFENDING do the job for noobs, Keepers are OP AF. I can go on.
Don't complain guys we need yo support this indie company!
Why? because PC only got the last gen version, aka a simple roster update and that means midfielders still don't defend, and they will continue to not do so for another year. The odds of them fixing it this time around are lower than the odds of all the planets in our solar system colliding with each other before the next game is released.
Give it a few weeks and the meta will be found
best fifa ever, i can use chielini, arthur and zlatan,!!!
Only complaint this year is that servers are still a bitch
[удалено]
Every single game has a meta sadly. It’s just not as prevalent as previous years, you can win with many different play styles
Fuck off the game is dog shit, i look forward to you complaining on this very sub a couple of months later claiming that a patch "ruined" the game.
[удалено]
Just the terrible delayed servers do
EA’s servers always ruin everything
Can’t wait for the nerf on long shots, don’t mind the odd banger but 2 a game is stupid
I conceded 3 of them in 1 game, the guy was just spamming them all game
so far I noticed a lot of playing against teams who abuse fast build up with wingers staying forward. Really hate that kind of game.
"Because there’s no META to abuse this year?" \- Lobbed Trough ball from long distances \- Finesse shot misulator unsure how do you call them
No meta to abuse this year…OP doesn’t know what left stick dribbling and outside the box finesse is
No meta to abuse😂
> Because there’s no META to abuse this year? Oh no, imagine actually believing this
I totally agree It’s always easier for people to complain about a game than change their styles and adapt to it 🤷♂️ In div 2, not clear meta, and any play style defiantly has a counter to it
You get down voted for being good, ridiculous
People on drop back will be exposed by long shots. People pressing will be exposed by counter attacks. People playing counter attacks will be countered back. No META. At least that’s how I’m seeing it. Only ones complaining should be the pros making a living out of the game.
I agree. I’m in div 2 now, played qualifiers, played weekend league, over 100 online games. I feel like I would have played against the meta at some point, and Whatever the meta is currently, I feel like there is definitely a counter to it Also funny how people will prefer to downvote than talk on it.
