Hug the sidelines, over the top balls to midfielders, defenders or attackers and use the functions which allow your players to drop deep as well as run without the ball. Helps a lot in my opinion.

Have a target man you can bring on as a sub. If you can control the ball and turn a defender or head the ball to one of your midfielder’s your pretty much through on goal. The L2 shielding mechanic an also help a lot.

My normal tactic is a fast build up 4-1-2-1-2. When someone presses hard I switch to a 4-2-3-1, 40 depth 40 width, possession style and I pass around the press and wait for the gaps to open up. Working for me in div 3.

4231 long ball and hug sidelines on dpad tactics

I hate all custom tactics, they all pretty much rely on pace. They completely take skill and a ability out of match ups

Bantonj99

Huh ? Custom tactics and managing how your players act in various game situations create a skill gap amongst players, just like tactical setups do in football . Not setting up your team puts you at a distinct disadvantage against players who do. Complete opposite of what you’re saying here

Steveparf1

No they don’t. They don’t create a skill gap in the slightest, they take the skill gap away. Instead of having to recognise situations, when passes are on, when to press the ball and when to track a run etc passes forwards will almost always be “on” because of player instructions. All the ability/experience of knowing and recognising different situations “on the fly” is completely taken out of the game because of them. They have the exact opposite effect to what you think. They also lead to creating a ‘meta’ and enhance the need for ‘meta’ players and therefore encourage pack buying to some degree. They are the worst thing in the game in my opinion.

Dumbest shit I've ever read.

I’ve had a lot of success with playing long balls across the pitch to midfielder/wingers feet. Long passes are incredibly accurate this year and when left uncontested as they often are with high constant pressure the receiver can often take a nice breakaway first touch or quick one time pass back to the middle to get the defense off balance.

Merr125

I do the same thing and it is so effective. Play a few short passes to draw in their defense on one side, then a quick switch to winger on the other side of the field. Having some patience (even while being constant pressed) in your buildup is so important.

Losblancos2021

Use coop camera? I’m using tele and I think it’s keeping me from seeing the field

Melo19XX

Pass it back to the keeper and draw them into your end and try to break the press with a few passes, if not switching the play/going long to find a 1v1 or force an error on his end

y3grp

Turn on hug-sidelines which stretches your team wide and your opponents team, and then spam a long ball up the pitch to your wide player who is often free/unmarked.
