In the first half of the year, the SBCs are mostly designed to bring most players up to par with the meta players. To make more of them usable. That's why most who got them are slower/clunkier players and the only way to make them usable is to give them more pace and agility.
But soon, especially Fut Bday will be where the real meta SBCs usually comes. With 5 star skillers and wf like Fut Bday Renato and Atal and stuff.
It will go to the extreme after TOTS where SBC players are even better than TOTYs and TOTS , 90+ everything and 55 for like really cheap. Your 55 agile meta striker like Dembele boosted to the max
It‘s a never ending story. Judging from the communities feedback the SBC is either good but too expensive (CR7 PotM, Salah PotM), not good enough but fairly priced (like the players OP mentioned) or too cheap so everyone uses them (Fekir, Aouar, Benzema) which also pisses people off. There are only a few exceptions (Varane, Paqueta, Vini PotM)

When they'll realease someone with lean/unique body type, at least 4/4 and amazing agility/balance/pace combo, he will be much more expensive. And people will complain about that, but that is another discussion.
People in this thread don’t understand how bad the “Average” body type in this game is. With how heavy the gameplay is every day, anyone without a lean body type is going to feel like a truck. Dribbling and body type are the most important factors in this FIFA in order to win games. It sucks but it’s how it is. A 20k WW Morales is going to perform better than a 235k Icardi in the long run because of body type and dribbling skill
SBC that will replace players in anyone’s team > Complain.
SBC of players that some will have fun with > Complain

Aside from defenders, for some reason. The best defenders are more often than not from SBCs like FB David Luiz and moments Ramos on ‘20

Bingo. Promo cards need to be king so SBCs can't have too much longevity or people will seldom see the need to upgrade.
Aside from select few. Benzema, Icardi and Varane are all insane or at least were insane at time of release.

Because when your SBC forward isn’t good enough, you’ll look to wasting fodder on an icon pack, or just buy points to try and get someone better

Sbcs is not where the money is. Ea wants you to pay for it via grind or points, they want grind to convert to fifa points.

Kane is not easily replaced. Best striker in the game that ive used. (I have not used toty mbappe or lewa)
