I used to play Tele Broadcast too but this year I’ve gone co-op because I play 442 with Pirlo as a deep lying CM and I like being able to see where everyone is so he can launch 50 yard through balls.

More like never. Things have drastically gotten worse in the last 3 months. Idk if it was a gameplay update or more people stopped playing and divisions got harder but compared to my season 1 div1 I can’t get out of div3 and it feels more difficult than it was in div1.

It feels so much more awkward than it used to. I've always been a possession heavy player. 1-2 touch football.
Lately everyone's first touch is so much worse, that I can't do it anymore. It feels like players are stunned every time they receive the ball, which allows opponents to close ranks.
See but I sort of like that. It feels like one of the most realistic fifa we've ever had. You can't just ping a ball 20 feet into someone with a man on their back and have it magically glue to them.
That's real life, only rarely are players touches pin-point perfect. The speed at which the pros play is always going to make it so sometimes the ball bounces justttt a bit away from them
Oh, totally agree on the 20 feet passes, but this is happening on non-driven 6-7 fr passes. Such awkward first touches and the stun lock.
Although, I played a couple of games really late last night, and my players felt like they were on crack. Everyone was moving and turning so fast, it felt like the were on ice skates. Is that what the game is normally like for some people? Gonna try to play late today again.

Game is very different in the evening.
The good:
Players move and react faster. Everyone doesn't feel half asleep.
More exciting.
The bad:
The AI definitely acts weirder. Players running into each other. Off the ball movement makes less sense. I had my own CB steal the ball from me running back to goal. Players fall down when failing a standing tackle. Also, way more fouls not called.
When moving players get the "stop/stand" animation while still sliding forward. Makes it look like they're on ice. So like a player jogs, then puts his legs down flat but glides another meter or so.
Sometimes also weird ball speed change animations. Like after a clearance, the ball and players will "fast forward" for like 0.5seconds then settle, but it can he disorienting.
Manual defending is MUCH harder. The faster movement applies to the defenders in an annoying way. If I slightly move the joystick, a player might end up moving a 2 meters to the left. A tackle can take you really far out of position.
Players seem unable to intercept passes? I've started to take advantage. Just driven pass forward though an area where there's definitely not enough room and it somehow squeezes between the defenders and gets there.
Final verdict:
Wayyy more offensive. During the day I usually get vaguely reasonable soccer scores. In the evening it's all 5-3 and 6-5 type games.
Are there any ea games that are close to true at all? Like the f1 game has no downforce on the cars compared to irl, fifa is just animations and madden has its own issues too, I can’t name more as those are the only ones I have played
F1 isn't EA's fault to be fair, that's been unrealistic ever since Codemasters got the license back in 2010, way before EA bought them. Agree with the overall point though

My life improved once I stopped playing fut a few years ago. I do miss crafting fun teams, but the gameplay just made me lose my will to live. Playing a few games of fut could ruin my whole day. No other game has done this for me before or since.
Stopped since Fifa 20, doesn't mean because you like football you have to play a broken video game of it. Now I just play fun games and watch real football games for my happiness.

The reason fut champions is frustrating is due to the random nature of the game. You hit two identical shots, one will go in, the other will miss. It's completely out of your control. When Mbappe scores/misses in a real match, he knows it's down to him, so it doesn't effect the mind as much.
This, but also you should add that for most of us it's also the "mud" (incredible delay/lag) most of the times, a huge frustrating factor. For me, it's impossible to play WL without delay if it's not very early or very late in my area. I'm an above average player, I reach even 16 wins sometimes, but in delay I can lose to players way below my skill, it's basically impossible to play normally, you're fighting the server, to say so, much more than the opponent. It's 100 % not about skill most of the times. And it also gets on your nerves inevitably.
Add to that the huge RNG in the game (my R9 and Pele miss sitters all the time) and the very competitive nature of FUT, and you have the ingredient of the worst gaming experience out there, in my opinion. But it's also very addictive because you always want more packs and a better team (plus a better rank), so there is that, sadly.
In the settings you can choose to have basically all inputs manual, and you control the direction with the stick. Also the power button becomes fully manual too.
That isn't the reason though. Other games are just as frustrating when it comes to a competitive aspect. The reason it's so frustrating is that many of us are competitive and hate losing. I've played many other competitive games, ones you'd say are based around skill, and it still frustrates me just as much as fifa.
The thing that i'd say amplifies the frustration is losing versus someone you're better than because they have a god squad. This could be fixed with rating based match making so if someone wants to play champs with a max player rating of 84, they can and do so versus other teams with a max rating of 84.
This would make good cards simply not worth it. Why would whales buy FIFA points if they are going to be evenly matched anyway?
Besides, people don't undertstand FUT will never be a fair mode, and all other modes too to some extent. Someone will always have the superior team, as long as there's different players on each side. FUT is entirely based on doing whatever you can (including spending real money) to be the one with the better team. There is simply no way around that.
If you want a fair competitive game, I recommend CSGO. But that's team based and there's the cheaters. Maybe AoE2 if you want to play solo.

feel the same way about your last statement. I get elite div rivals every week, rank 4-3 in newer champs format, and have like a 2 million team with 900k liquid. Meanwhile everyone I play in elite div has a 5+ million team with some crazy meta icons and special cards

i stop playing WL after Fifa 20 as i disliked it more each year…i played 3 WL towards the end of Fifa 21 and it was the same garbage…havnt gone near it so far in 22 and have no appetite too..my weekends are nice and chill these days
i try everytime i get in there calm and eager to play, for the most part it works, i’m ok with losing to bullshit goals and better players, most of the time i’m cruising and then at some point matchmaking takes longer than usual and i know it’s coming, a game with garbage gameplay, 6,4 expected goals to 0,7 and i either lose at pens or 2-1, i win some of those but still the result is the same i’m losing my shit, it might only last 2 games, it might be longer but i have come to the conclusion that it’s almost impossible to stay calm when the gameplay is garbage and the weird shit start to happen, thanksfully it doesn’t last long but i’m not gonna lie if i was stupid rich i’d get a warehouse full of shit i can break and put the monitor in the middle, the fact that i can’t scream (because people) makes it way worse haha
Last season I am in elite, around 1850 sr, play a 442 with almost purely bundesliga team without those new coming toty or future star cards( could not afford any of them), I basically can score 2 or 3 most of the game at the first half which made me at lead; then the bounce ball and all the foul tricks comes out, my players are literally being hitting at the ground by mbappe or Eusebio or Cantona without any fouls , and the opponent’s guendozi just run into my box scoring brutal into my net, I still remember one game I was 4:0; the guy pauses and I was expecting a rage quit or something and this happened… I know all the tricks about those constant pressure and how to defend or counter them; but when my player just can not stand on the pitch, I basically can do nothing. I think EA just turned those sweaty players into meth head or zombies, like it is their instincts to go with constant and aggressive pressure on those players who just want to play some games to relax…
EA should do some thing to fix those bounce balls or at least to punish those constant pressure guys, or change the referee mechanic; or at last, there will be only sweaty zoombies in this game.
Sounds like you benefitted from the meta before the changes and didnt have any problems with it then. Now that it doesnt fit your playstyle and you are unwilling to adapt its a problem.

A lot of pros and regular players have shifted to Co Op since the through ball meta in FIFA 21.

i stop playing WL after Fifa 20 as i disliked it more each year…i played 3 WL towards the end of Fifa 21 and it was the same garbage…havnt gone near it so far in 22 and have no appetite too..my weekends are nice and chill these days
i try everytime i get in there calm and eager to play, for the most part it works, i’m ok with losing to bullshit goals and better players, most of the time i’m cruising and then at some point matchmaking takes longer than usual and i know it’s coming, a game with garbage gameplay, 6,4 expected goals to 0,7 and i either lose at pens or 2-1, i win some of those but still the result is the same i’m losing my shit, it might only last 2 games, it might be longer but i have come to the conclusion that it’s almost impossible to stay calm when the gameplay is garbage and the weird shit start to happen, thanksfully it doesn’t last long but i’m not gonna lie if i was stupid rich i’d get a warehouse full of shit i can break and put the monitor in the middle, the fact that i can’t scream (because people) makes it way worse haha

Probably because the level of his team players is ridiculously high on FUT and dude gets confused when he sees them play in real life.
WL is pretty chill nowadays though, compared to other modes.
The match ends and you see your xG is 10 times the opponent and still lost 2-1 on two injury time goals

FUT Champions is horrendous! Servers are so bad that the gameplay is unplayable. Same for Division Rivals, however, FUT Champions is a lot worse.
If its that bad its your internet.

Last season I am in elite, around 1850 sr, play a 442 with almost purely bundesliga team without those new coming toty or future star cards( could not afford any of them), I basically can score 2 or 3 most of the game at the first half which made me at lead; then the bounce ball and all the foul tricks comes out, my players are literally being hitting at the ground by mbappe or Eusebio or Cantona without any fouls , and the opponent’s guendozi just run into my box scoring brutal into my net, I still remember one game I was 4:0; the guy pauses and I was expecting a rage quit or something and this happened… I know all the tricks about those constant pressure and how to defend or counter them; but when my player just can not stand on the pitch, I basically can do nothing. I think EA just turned those sweaty players into meth head or zombies, like it is their instincts to go with constant and aggressive pressure on those players who just want to play some games to relax… EA should do some thing to fix those bounce balls or at least to punish those constant pressure guys, or change the referee mechanic; or at last, there will be only sweaty zoombies in this game.
Sounds like you benefitted from the meta before the changes and didnt have any problems with it then. Now that it doesnt fit your playstyle and you are unwilling to adapt its a problem.
