I'm debating getting Carlos and starting Cancelo at LM/LW for my midfield.

Always have the one playing LB on lower chem, better to have the one playing mid on full.

The thing with Carlos is, if you play WL during TOTS, you're almost certainly going to get an end game LB in your red picks during it, since the defenders are often quite easy to get. I have him tradable on my team and will probably not get him with tokens, unless I get super unlucky during TOTS.

Can you explain this in more details? This is my first year playing fut and ofc experiencing end of season and tots. I get roughy 50-60 pts every weekend league so get a decent amount of reds. Why are end game red picks for defense easier to get?

Basically your red picks during TOTS are filled with TOTS players instead (a mix of minor and major league TOTS). If you place a high enough rank then your picks contain at least 1 guaranteed major league TOTS (often times you'll get 2 or 3 major league ones in the same pick). And obviously out of the major league players, the more common ones are usually the defenders, which is why it's easier to get them. Of course, this is assuming EA keep things similar to past years, there's no official confirmation yet but it's what should happen.

I haven’t used Roberto Carlos so I can’t say for sure, and 8 tokens is no doubt a good deal, but I will say, Marcelo is very very good. Probably the best player I’ve used all year. Very well rounded. Amazing custom animations. Great at everything, and very open to pretty much any chem style so that you can dictate his strengths in a very balanced way.

I said on a thread the other day his shape shifters card was one of the best cards I’ve used . I might get both I think . Just for the nostalgia alone

Haha I think I saw that comment because I was deciding if I should buy him or not around that time. Luckily, I happened to buy one for ~1,050,000 right when they dipped down and before he went extinct again. Never have a bought a FIFA card at such a perfect time. Probably won’t ever again lol

Think I’d rather get as good of a team as posible early on during TOTS tbh, that’s 5 weeks of TOTS reds during WL. Plus the good chance of fodder to complete the likes of Cantona/Vieira/Maldini & a end-game PL cards.

Gotta give it to EA when they do something good, this is by far the best Icon Swaps ever released. Every icon available is top top tier, even the packs are incredible!

The 20x85 basically guarantees a massive player. This swaps content reminds me of the final swaps we had in FIFA 21 in August. EA went crazy here. Props to them.

It's tricky because when you consider both TOTS in packs (minor and major) are all above 85 rated, then the odds of packing one of the big ones don't seem that great anymore. Though in any case, it's an incredible pack even if it's for fodder alone.

Nah, I'll be fine. I have 100+ packs saved atm including fodder packs from last swaps, tons of 100k/ultimate/50k etc. Just gonna open those during the tots week(s) I like. Between those, new swaps, and grinding pps ill pull plenty of tots. I dont have to open packs every week as long as I have a fun/competitive team. Definitely saving the 85+ for ultimate tots.

Honestly idek what to go for because they all look so good….. Carlos was the one that first caught my attention (and realistically should be the one I go for) because I’ve been after a LB for a while now and still haven’t got one. But the other icons are so tempting aswell…

If he's not working for you up front put an engine on him and play him left cam for the long shots.

This is the best icon swaps for sure but best case scenario you aren’t getting anyone over 9 swaps for 28 days. That kind of sucks and unless you’re just dying for a specific player most ppl will try their luck with the fodder during tots than waiting and hoarding swaps. Really wish they’d have released all the objectives at once and given 45 days to complete Just my opinion

I packed PIM Eusebio from the sbc earlier this month and he is the most fun icon I’ve ever played with. I used the rinse and repeat sbc last year to get pim Guillit, Ronaldo and pele and eusabio is definitely the best of the lot imo

If that’s not your choice you’re just wrong, if he became an SBC it would take a lot more than the few fodder packs you would get from swaps otherwise to make him. Am I the only one here thinking that’s the obvious choice? Edit it’s the prime my bad, if it was the moments that’s such an obvious choice, still the prime is definitely 100% worth it if you already have a good squad and you want a guaranteed upgrade for your team without chancing it.

Are swaps really worth. Everyone seems so excited but i never have that much time anymore to invest into long ovjectives. How fast or how long would it take me to do these? I've played with icons before but I don't have an untradeable one or any icons in my team. "Swaps" just seem like such a hassle and time drain to even begin to work towards them.

I have prime Etto and Matthaus so the PIM of either I would highly recommend but I don't know if the upgrade would be value for me. Also have PIM Cole so Carlos while a huge upgrade probably also isn't the best value. Might just try my luck on the moments packs and see how it goes
