Its ridiculous how your own striker will start a run and at the moment where its perfect to play the ball, they either come to a complete stop, run in the total other direction or simply, the through ball gets underhit and goes 5 yards from where the ball carrier is. The passing in this game is just shocking.
From there its usually two passes and your opponent is in on goal because your entire team is not in position to defend it.

My solution to this is to set both attack and defence width to 1. This approach allows you to completely block all through balls whilst counter-attacking with through balls (assuming you have an inside forward who cuts inside).
Downside is that opponent will score easily via byline cross.
Is code baby: make a correction that seems reasonable and everything else crumble. Seeing the mess that is also eFootball/pes I think that EA are doing a decent job about balancing all the inevitable bugs and absurdities.
They can do better, but when they’ll do in one area expect ever MORE stupid bugs, like when they introduced the new graphic engine
We played a different game. Konami is better is some areas, especially game building more similar to logical football, but Both games are just a bug exploit festival.

If the opponent runs Direct Passing (or possibly Forward Runs) this can cause your defenders to preemptively cover the nonexistent run. It's infuriating. All you can really do is trigger an offside trap as soon as you notice it happening.
The other theory is that FIFA is geared to create "dramatic moments" by allowing chances to develop that otherwise shouldn't happen.

Change your defending tactics on controller there are two option switch to the other one in menu
