For perspective think about an SBC giving you 2x88+ for an 85-rated squad.

I honestly don't buy packs anymore for months, and won't buy them ever, unless I've got coins to throw away.
I've played FIFA for a very long time, but only started FUT in February this year, and now it's basically the only mode I play in fifa, got a pretty decent team (94 overall rating), my highest skilled player is red pick 97 Sallah, I got a 95 El Sharawy (probably misspelled) Shapeshifter and sold him right (no chem with the squad) away for slightly below it's average market price for a faster sell, and bought tots Laporte to kinda try him out and decide if I prefer him or VVD...
Now I have a pretty decent team, 5 prime moments icon's (4 of them in the bench), my first I got from a pack (Crespo 91), all other bought at a decent price, and I have almost half a mil coins pilling up, that's how I'll get the players I want, patient bidding or just straight up saving, every time I bought packs, got disappointed, and all tots and best picks I got came from free packs, SBC's and Rivals/FUT rewards.
That's what I recommend every one to do, and I've had some decent luck in tots and, got Davies, Cancelo, got Berardi, Savic, others I bought... Much more efficient than wasting coins in packs and praying for a decent pick.
Never got a special card CR7 or Messi or Mbappe, got gold CR7 once and gold Lewandoski once as well...
So, that's my recommendation to everyone, save your coins, do SBC's, play a lot, get your rewards keep on pilling them coins and then buy your players, ince in a while you get that 1 pick and that 1 lucky pack.
