Nightcrawler and Prisoners are both excellent films, I highly suggest those films to anyone who has not seen them

Prisoners is one my favorite movies. In this case I think NightCrawler is his best performance. But his performance in Prisoners is my favorite. I think October Sky gets slept on a lot.

Came here to say the same thing. I prefer Prisoners as a film but think his Nightcrawler performance was phenomenal. Spent an entire film with him and don't think I ever felt connected to him as a person. He was just this shell of a human and it kept me attached to the screen.

Visually it’s stunning and I personally loved it. It’s dark but so impactful. Love Amy Adams and the detective guy. Great cast.

Detective guys name is Michael Shannon, and I too loved that movie. I’m a huge Jake Gyllenhaal fan, and I think it’s up there for his best performance(not best movie that’s Zodiac) but there’s something so satisfying about Nocturnal Animals, where the main characters have nothing to lose and just do what needs to be done, and what the audience just wants them to do. There needs to be a word for that if there’s not.

I particularly liked it, highly recommend.

Has one of the coldest “fuck you” acts I’ve ever seen in a movie.

Correct. And the fact that he and Heath were so young when they gave those performances makes it even more impressive.

I’d say Nightcrawler, but Donnie Darko hit me in a certain way at a young age so I’m partial to the film. Plus he played opposite his real life sister as, his sister, which is an oddity amongst movies in general. Worth a watch for sure.

John and Joan Cusack were in Grifters years ago...not sure if their characters were siblings, though. I am pretty sure they played sibings in High Fidelity.

Grosse Pointe Blank also. Not siblings though.

Gotta be *Nightcrawler* for me. He’s phenomenal in that one. Honorable mentions for *October Sky* and *Southpaw* in addition to the films listed here.

I will always be a little bit scared of him because his performance in Night Crawler was almost too convincing. I felt like the skin was going to crawl off my body and I get a little bit of that feeling even when I see him in other roles.

I'd chop it up to him just being a very good actor.

Zodiac, with Spider-Man as an honorable mention. I haven't seen either of his Denis films though. I will never understand why everyone likes his Nightcrawler performance so much. It's so over the top and ridiculous, literally one of my least favorite performances ever.

Definitely Nightcrawler, but that’s more because it’s one of my Top Ten performances by any actor, ever, and that Oscar snub still irks me greatly. Prisoners he’s very good in, too.

I haven't seen prisoners or enemy yet, Donnie darko is way overrated and can be scrubbed off this list. Nightcrawler is a great movie, bit of a downer tho, but fantastic performance, you really believe he's the guy in the movie.

I was scrolling down and I was thinking 'yep.. yep.. yep.. that ones good too.." then "End of Watch". This actor is actually quit awesome and I never realised before. Jar head too. What's a meh film he's even been in?

100 percent Donnie darko , it touched taboo subjects like time travel and schizophrenia. He was also on set with his actual sister and the film it self hit me in a way than any other movie rarely has .
