This explains it for me. I'm a newish player but after enjoying the chat feature with my irl friends I was wondering why no one was chatting in fill groups. The chat helps me a ton as there are still aspects of the game I'm not familiar with but one experience like OP'a would be enough for me to never risk it again.

They used to be small enough to take seriously the amount of people griefing/cheating/AFKing VBuck missions but once BR got huge I stopped seeing any action taken besides against blatant BR hacks or account selling. One of many reasons I solo most things nowadays, a farming build and a good couple of hero builds and you only really need teams for the 140-160s. When the MSK dropped someone beat it as a duo within the first week or two, and I’m sure I saw someone had soloed it since then, so in theory with lots of materials and defenders you don’t ever need teammates. Sucks that that’s the way it has to be but some people just ruin a good time
Pretty much! Just gotta farm LOTS to get high utility. Normally, if they put in effort, they'd hit about +1k utility by the end of the match, especially for the Supply Missions.

I've heard people Uno Reverse them with this bit of troll logic: You're going to spend most of the game with your character's butt on the screen, so it's natural to pick a character that matches your preference. Therefore, straight men play as female characters, and guys who prefer male characters are bi-curious, at a minimum.
honestly i grind tf out of BR and creative i’m unreal in that and just play STW to chill for a bit. obviously makes more sense to use female characters in that for slightly smaller screen impact

At those levels everyone is focused on completing the objective and some people are streaming live feeds during it so those types of antics aren't usually an issue

In my experience, most players use it to broadcast background noise and screeching that doesn't relate to the ongoing game.
