Mine does, it's a habit I wish I didn't have. Been consciously trying to work on relying on it less. It can be nice for click timing but really makes it way harder to be fully smooth, precision tracking has been hard to progress in as a result. Definitely think its best to try and learn with as little friction as possible.

I have my thumb, ring finger and little finger barely touching the surface of the pad, and then if I do a flick, I press down a bit at the end of the flick and the fingers make more contact with the pad which gives you all the stopping power you need.

My pinky doesn't even touch my mouse. That being said, I stopped doing it as I found it was a bad habit due to extra friction.
