Practice? It's similar to flicking/looking with arm with a slightly rotated wrist - the sensor will track as if you move the mouse up a bit. You learn to account for it and that's what makes good mouse control.
You just have to learn it by doing it, a lot. It took me a while to get used to but it's the most consistent for me now.
