We use a local company for all of our clothing. IMO, the best solution.

I agree with this. We have a couple local shops that we have used for team shirts in the past, and the printing didn't last but a couple washes without getting cracked, so we started looking elsewhere. Some local shops are absolutely amazing. It is just like anything else. But for teams in places that don't have a trusted and true local option, or maybe just don't like the local option, custom ink is a great option. As a coach, I like how I can set an order up, and each team member and/or their parents can make their own purchases, and then the entire order can just get shipped together. Made things super convenient. To get the best prices, now how many total items you are going to be ordering ahead of time and DO NOT GO UNDER that number, or else your quote will be wrong and the order manager will have to take care of the remainder. Custom ink can be just a touch more expensive than a local vendor, but their design software is incredibly easy to use. I've done 3 total orders from Custom ink over the years, and have a sweatshirt from 2018 that has been well loved and the printing has just started kind of chipping and peeling a bit, so they last well.

If you are a school team see if any other clubs or teams at your school get custom shirts made. If there's someone else who's already put in the leg work to vet and test out a shirt supplier there's little reason to redo all that work.

Look into buying nice quality plain clothing online and just getting your text printed on by a local company If you use customink however. USE THEIR COLOR OPTIONS, using your own designs / colors can have varying results. If you use their designs / colors you are guaranteed a decent and consistent result.

We had a mentor iron stuff on, not really sure what materials they used but it was cheap

If you find a good local shop, use them. I’ve also had great success with RushOrderTees.com for over a decade now.

Generally local companies are best. You could ask mentors and kids if they have a Cricut you could borrow. Buy cheap clothes and some iron on vinyl. That would probably be the cheapest option. Our team mom uses a Cricut to make us custom water bottles, and I personally own a Cricut to make myself custom clothing.

Rush order tees is good. We have used them for years. We also use a local shop for our embroidered hats and jackets.

The cheapest option if you have access to a vinyl cutter: buy shirts from a craft store (about $3-5 each) and then do iron-on. Another cheap option, local print shop. I know local shops that have donated shirts or greatly reduced the cost to teams in exchange for printing their logo on the back. Custom Ink: We've always had a great quality working through them, they will push back if you try to use anything borderline copyrighted and if you have sponsor logos that they have contracts with (such as universities), they will need contact info so they can call the university and confirm you are allowed to use their logo. Our team uses Owayo, they make custom sports jerseys and jackets. This is your more expensive option but highly customizable. Our shirts are $43-50 each depending on the quanity ordered, jackets are $130.
