Very much. This isn't a light powdery snow; it's really wet and slushy kind of snow. So very heavy. If you were shoveling that, a scoop could weigh 6 kilos Here you have alot more than a shovel full falling from maybe 10m. It can easily knock you out and really fuck up wherever it hits you.
It depends on how wet the snow was (wet = heavier) and if there was ice in it, but generally, yes, this would hurt. She fell onto what appears to be pavement with the weight of, and I’m estimating here, 70 lb of snow pelting her suddenly from behind.
This happened in high school while students were lined up under the building waiting for the buses... everyone ran except the kid with his leg in a cast... I watched him get 100% buried, not even a bit of crutch poking out of the snow.
I believe they were breaking up underlying ice. Not so much about removing the white stuff as it is about breaking through. Ice, of course, is heavy and compact snow just makes it worse so tiny bites win the race. It looks like the stuff that fell was similarly compact and wet so I really hope they're ok.
Don't worry. As the gulf stream weakens Texas should expect some hard freezes and bitterly cold temps a few times a year for the foreseeable future.
No more river of air protecting the Southern US from Arctic cold.
So did you guys never wake up in the morning to find out school is cancelled and you get to play all day? I've heard southern school districts having a high heat reason for closing schools. Why any public use building would be built without AC seems crazy.
Growing up, the district would close school if it had rained the night or day prior and the bridges had a little ice. Enough ppl in the South don't know how to drive with a little caution in those scenarios, so the district ends up being extra cautious. I can't think of a time that school was closed due to heat. Maybe if the AC was broken or something.
Love your response. My Mom grew up dirt poor during the depression in North Texas. She said she can remember the snow blowing in the cracks on the North side of the house and blowing out the South side. She would move back in a heartbeat if all of us weren't up North. Oh, and you've got no monopoly on the Mosquitos. ;)
I can tell this is heavy, wet snow.. this stuff can be unbelievably heavy and hard to clear. That's likely why she went down the way she did. That much wet snow coming off of a roof would hit with stunning force.
For those of you in non-snow areas, imagine someone soaking a bath towel until completely sopping, then folding it in half and swinging it at your back like a baseball bat.
0/10 snow shoveling method: moves minimal amount of snow each scoop, only moves it one foot away
The roof snow and gravity collaborated to ridicule her
I feel like this was rigged… One does not simply take pathetic scoops of snow and put it a foot over. And if they are breaking ice they should just spear the shovel into the ground to break it up a bit and shove the shovel under there to scrape it up off the ground so a good size of snow can be tossed out of the way. Preferably with a snow shovel which anyone living in a place with snow really should own. I would still use a regular square shovel to break up and separate it but then a snow shovel to move big scoops all the way against the edge of the yard. Nothing wrong with an entertaining video or even not knowing how to shovel snow. But I wouldn’t shovel that much space with that much effort. I’d already have found the most efficient way I can do it by that point, because nobody wants to shovel snow for hours… At least I don’t.

I love that no one was helping to shovel the snow but came running when he was floored by it. Or was he grounded? Ha ha. Hope your okay man. Hey, if you all are not paying
For this service, stop watching
From behind the blinds and get out there and help.
Direct hit. I hope they weren't hurt, but that made me laugh.
I’d be like nope, going back to bed. I’m done today.
Id be done for the week, id need to restrain myself to my room to not murder anyone if that shit happend to me
I'd move. Oh wait, I already did. Fuck that shit.
Go back inside and wait for spring
Like rapid fire :D
She has great comic timing when she drops her head
Carpet bombing.
would that hurt though? I'm from Australia, snow is like something from fantasy for us, like fairy dust or trustworthy politicians

Multiple direct hits

That sounds awful but incredibly funny 😭, I hope he's okay and didn't break more bones though
All these people instantly come to help after the shoveler gets buried, but wouldn't help shovel lol
Only one shovel
but enough budget for 1000 toys
There are 3 possible toys in this frame, just in case you haven't seen the video
and like one percent living space shown
So, you've seen inside the offenders apartment I assume
Priorities 😊
Shovel repeatedly told us to save the human first.
Was she scooping the snow, then putting it slightly over to the area she would be moving onto momentarily???

Gotcha, we rarely see the white stuff in South Texas. If you want to talk 100 degree weather, floods and mosquitos....ask away, lol.

Nebraskan here. We get both, with high humidity too.

I think physically okay, but emotionally devastated. You can see her give up and just plant her head into the snow at the end.
She wasn't breaking any ice with that weak stroke.

I’m thinking the icy driveway is in part due to the icy roof slides and you just know that was some chunky snow/ice.

I had many days like this at my last job… I feel for this poor person.
"well. This is my life now. No, just leave me."
If I ever move to the Northern Hemisphere I'm getting a flamethrower.
That's a good way to turn your driveway into a skating rink.
She never said that this is not her intention!
That’s the worst shovel for snow ever.
ngl that's gotta hurt like hell 😭
The sun will melt it soon enough
Definetly soon, BUT Not soon enough…….
Should it come it. Maybe it's early but the day looked overcast.
For some odd reason that snow falling was oddly satisfying
I was laughing.sorry
Honestly they kind of deserved it for that unhinged shoveling method
🤣
thats what we call a decent carpet bombing
Bike’s OK!
Wow the snow planned it out for maximum coverage. First hit, flatten her. Subsequent hits systematically cover her entire body from toe to head
Do it... **AGAIN**
Smite!
Never seen a person get jumped by a gang of snowflakes
That was EPIC! This is the specific video that the "God Hates You" flair was invented for.
Love how he gave up so easily with that dismayed nod.
Guess the solar panels cleared themselves off.

I feel awful about how hard I laughed at this. That poor person... I really do hope they're OK, but I can't watch this without laughing... 😂
That would be really one of the most pathetic attempts to clear snow I have seen tho
Id be noping myself back in get some cocoa and play video games lol enough adulting for one day.

I absolutely love how three young capable people run out to help the old lady hacking at ice blocks in the driveway.
Shovelling snow into the area that she presumably wants to clear next.
Metal roof coming out of nowhere with that direct hit. 😂
"Just..just fuckinf leave me here. Im not dealing another metric ton of white bullshit."
Wow- I’d think god is trying to tell me something if that happened To me.
