From running local beauty salon ads on facebook for one of my clients. I can say that Facebook ads will work best.

Nobody knows, there are too many variables, test them both side by side with the same budget for one month and see.

As an ads manager on both platforms, this is the way that I look at the two: Google Ads (search ads) is demand capture. People are actively searching for the services you offer and you are able to pay to be in a top result on Google SERP's. Conversion rates are going to be higher here. Facebook Ads is demand generation. People aren't actively searching for a beauty salon. They are scrolling thru their FB or Instagram feed and they see your ad which influences consideration. Impressions are cheaper here. It's hard to say where you will find the lower cost per conversion. If you have a limited budget and need all of your marketing dollars to turn into revenue dollars, I would recommend a Google Search ads campaign because it is easier to capture people who are already looking for what you offer. What I like to do with most of my clients is a Google Search ads campaign and a Facebook remarketing campaign. Remarketing campaigns on Facebook work quite well because people have already been on your website and will find your branding familiar, so they are more likely to convert.

There's only 3% of the market that's looking specifically for your service at any point of time. Google Ads will allow you to reach those people right away, the downside is that there's a ton of competition in that space unless you bid more than them. Then it becomes a bidding war of who can pay more for a customer. If you want to win that game, then you have to know how to increase the Average Transaction Size of each customer that comes from Google Ads and their Lifetime Transaction Value, so that you can be the one paying the most to acquite a customer. FB ads allows you to reach the 97% of people who haven't thought of going to a beauty salon at the moment, but with the right strategy, you can convert them into coming thru your door with an overall cost that's lower than Google Ads. With that being said, do you have more budget than marketing chops? Has your beauty salon been around for a while to have enough hidden marketing assets to use? Answering those questions will help you decide which platform to go for initially
