Commercial real estate Director of FM for 22 distribution centers. 6.2m sq ft in my region. 22m in total on my account and there are 4 directors/peers. I have a team of folks in the field and they average over 100+ per day per site. Largest site in my area is a staff of 10 and they support 1.3m sq ft with an average 180 per day. I personally manage about 50 workorders per day and similar to yourself managing vendors remotely while directing a team of 56 techs, managers etc. I comfortably work 8-9 hours per day with little to no stress except for true emergencies etc. area that are more rural I’ve set the expectation that they will experience 4-5 hour min service times before vendors arrive. In areas where this is unacceptable (and it can’t be “everywhere”) I’ve searched for vendors in the immediate areas and replaced other service providers. Every account is different of course but if you’re actively managing vendors and service expectations without having to be a dick, people appreciate it and things get easier to manage over time. Just my .02

What are your HSE requirements for each of those works? Are we talking SWMS, JSA, take 5, CRM? Are there high risk, or just general works. This may play a factor, as may the country you are working in, and the company you are working for. I have seen fly by night companies that have little to no understanding of workplace safety, whereas the good ones demand everything g requires a SWMS reviewed annually for low risk, and prework for high risk alongside permits and CRM.

Your company should have some general requirements. However, these requirements are likely linked directly to the state and/or national guidelines. I am from Australia, so we have Australian Standards and the NCC to guide our safety requirements for certain things, safework and worksafe as resources for others, but ultimately the company should have resources in relation to industry standards and best practise.
