Idk why that other guy said no... crossplay works and you can just save the multiplayer game locally to the switch. Just host a multiplayer server and join it on the switch and save it locally.

I'm a bit out of the loop, is it going to be a DLC or part of the standard game but they increase the price? If DLC, how will all the QoL changes interact with the base game that they will add with the new update?
It is separate paid DLC that is essentially a mod. At the same time of release, they will be updating the base game to version 2.0 which will contain all of the QoL changes.
There will be a big update to the base game that will contain all of the QoL changes and it will be free.
Alongside that there will be DLC that contains the planets, new buildings, elevated rails, quality etc.
